@Anti-Matter haha, we are so different. I've just looked at my room and everything is black: laptop, monitor, Switch, lamp, bed sheet, almost all of my clothes, my cup, my coffee in it... and I like it that way
@Anti-Matter I had white laptop once and brown marks would be left each time my palms sweat while typing/playing games (must be genetics, my palms sweat a lot, especially when gaming with other players ). Ever since I'm not buying white any devices.
Plus black seems more fitting for literally everyone. You can see a female kid playing on black console, but not really male teenager doing that on pink-ish/blue-ish one. Especially since Nintendo seems to target mostly teenagers and young adults with Switch, I suppose it makes sense to release mostly black colors.
But I can see why some people might like brighter colors more and I'm sure when Switch gets more popular different options will become available.
@Anti-Matter Black's the best, I wouldn't buy any other color
On-topic: I like the design on the dock, not a big fun of design on the console itself. Hopefully they'll continue with making docks with more interesting colors/designs
I didn't enjoy the testpunch as much as I thought I would. There's a lack of depth to the game. Maybe with more Arms to choose from it could be more fun. Either way, I'm very happy to see a lot of people actually enjoying it - great for Nintendo Meanwhile I'll wait for the full game reviews.
@uhhhhhhhh Yeah, I'm hoping that with bigger choice of ARMS, all the characters available and more game modes it will be more fun. I'll probably wait for the reviews before I pick it up though.
@Ohshadows I found the game too repetitive and without enough 'depth' to it. Maybe because of little arms to choose from, but all the combinations we had available felt very much the same. Motions controls works great, but it felt like I was doing the same thing every match (and I was exploring a lot of strategies! heck, even Helix with 2 Guardians felt all the other characters...) It's a fun game for short periods, maybe 20-30mins every 2nd day, but I don't see myself playing it longer. Just my 2 cents, I'm very happy to see that most people enjoy it though
well, the main protagonist of Legend of Zelda is a male character called Link, so I don't see the reason why the main protagonist of Bayonetta 3 couldn't be a male character trying to save her from demon's curse or something. saying that, I would still miss the female Bayonetta and all those cheese sexy in-game shots
@gb_nes_gamer Yeah, it seems to be a fun game for short periods of time but it lacks 'depth' to make it truly enjoyable. Based on the last direct I planned to pre-order it, but after playing the demo I think I'll wait for the reviews to come out and see in more details what the full game has to offer
On a different note, I wish there was more time available for each fight. I was in a couple of really epic 1v1 matches when the time simply run out. Really anti-climatic and disappointing
Don't think button mashing would work with ARMS in a long run. Once I got a hang of control schemes, it's actually possible to develop some nice strategies. Nevertheless, the game is more boring than I thought it would be It's alright for a quick 20-30mins match, but any longer and it makes me want to turn off the console. Maybe with more arms to choose from and more game-modes it would be more interesting?
The console grey market is huge in China - it's very easy to find anything you want to, and it's an official release as well. I've lived there for a year and had no problem finding 3ds, including special and limited editions and different regions. The problem is there's no official vendor. Most of the transactions go through private sellers who import the consoles and then sell them online on taobao. The point is, I'm sure there is no problem in getting Switch (or Wii U) in China with all the different games if one desires.
Looks nice! I will definitely consider it. Blizzard should release Diablo III Definite Edition on Switch already - it's a perfect game to have on the go!
Good news, Touhou is huge! Kinda wish they released the main game, rather than a spin-off. Would be fantastic to play some classic Touhou on the go, hopefully in the future!
@chewytapeworm woah, nice find! I've been looking at those 2 screenshots for 5mins and didn't realize the tires are different! I wonder if there's more...
“Worldwide” and “Regional” modes add players to Mirror and 200cc matches less often.
^This is extremely sad. With 3500 points I maybe had 3 or 4 200cc races and only a couple of mirror ones, so the rate of those matches was already very low. They should instead increase the rate, rather than lowering it. I find 200cc really engaging and it truly tests your skills rather than simple lack, like everything up to 150cc does
Mii, Flame Rider, Standard Blue and Hylian Kite so far worked great for me, no clue why but it seemed a perfect combination + I like racing as myself But knowing all the stats I might experiment with something new now
woah, really the option should have been there from a start, but better late than ever! Shame I've already finished the game, would prefer playing with Japanese audio. I'm on the side which thinks that Zelda's English voice freaking annoying
Looking forward to tomorrow! I hope Nintendo beats analytics' estimations so we can see a 5+% green day Good profit is never a bad profit! With FE Heroes, Mario Run on Android, Switch hardware + software sales, 2 legal cases won, Pokemon Company profiting $3.3 billion etc. I think financials will look extremely bullish tomorrow. Though marketing might have been costly for Nintendo this past 2 months
@Anti-Matter I don't think Axiom Verge is a shovelware - on the contrary, it's a quality game and relatively new. I'd prefer that much more than any of the NEO GEO titles we have available. On the other hand, look at Vroom in the Night Sky... how did that got through Nintendo, but Axiom Verge cannot?!
@ElGrego lol, I'm just discussing, exchanging arguments. I just like the games with hidden mechanics to master, and to me this looks like one so obviously I would defend it. Kinda sad I won't be able to try it anymore, but if majority of people are happy without it, so be it. I feel that Mario Kart is about 60% luck, 40% skill so anything to balance this ratio is a welcome addition to me
@ElGrego How do we even know Fire Hopping wasn't intentional? I just had a quick search online and there's no official statement from Nintendo that Fire Hopping is a glitch or exploit. Honestly, it kinda looks to me like it was meant to be in the game and devs put it in on purpose It gives too little of an advantage while being relatively hard to perform to be a glitch. It seems to me Nintendo put it in game on purpose
@ElGrego These are two different thing... Fire hopping in MK8 is kind of like doing combo attacks in Mortal Kombat. You spend time to learn it, and once you know how and when it's best to use it - you use it. That makes you a better player. You wouldn't want a Mortal Kombat to be a game with just punches and kicks because other players cannot master (or don't feel like mastering) particular combos, right?
Fire Hopping is not a game-braking glitch which puts you on top position automatically - you can still win the game without using it. But it is a technique to distinguish pro players from newbies.
I've never heard of fire hopping until this articles (and I've won many MK8 online races) and I'm sad they are removing it
@RaphaBoss for the above reason I also don't understand why it 'feels wrong'. It's not a cheat, it's a technique
That's kinda sad. I never knew about fire hopping until this article (and I managed to stay in top 3 in a lot of online races on Wii U), but it doesn't really feel like a cheat after watching the video. Heck, it only saves you a couple of seconds and it's hard to perform, making it a perfect technique to distinguish pro races from casuals. If it was easy to perform and would put you on 1st place all the time, then I understand it could be a game-breaking move, but the way it is? I don't get all the hate against it
All the Layton games are my all-time favourites, no other game cames even close So I'm really looking forward to the 3ds western release as soon as possible. I can imagine playing on smartphone wouldn't be the same. Also, I'm excited about the new protagonist, I've got a feeling Lady Layton will bring a fresh change to the series
19th in the world, congratulations are in order! It feels good being a Nintendo shareholder in times like this, can't wait for Nintendo's financial report next week
Took the ages. At this point we Europeans should be receiving the game for free If the price tag is ~£5 I'll get it cause I've been looking forward to this game for quite some time, but I can't imagine coming back to my 3ds in July when we have Splatoon and other cool games already on Switch
@Dakt Honestly, it doesn't matter if it's a new platform or not. Especially since porting to Switch apparently isn't hard at all.
@ThePoochyKid You got me here, I apologise for my ignorance. Still, I find the price very steep for an indie game like Binding of Isaac. I mean, I've played the first version and it's a seriously good game, but not worth the suggested price tag
I'll definitely get it but only if the price comes down to around £15. Charging £39.99 for a game which is available on any other platform for less than a tenner is crazy
Not really Wii U games, but I would love to finally see a proper FHD remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Other than that I would rather see new games on Switch than ports, but if I had to choose 3 that would be Smash Bros, Bayonettas and Xenoblade Chronicles X
@SakuraHaruka of course. The problem is we don't have a single AAA game on switch which isn't a port (yes, BotW is Zelda U). And thus far, big developers aren't really talking about any plans to make games for Switch alongside the PS4 and Xbone versions.
I mean, indie games are great, but I was just hoping for more for Switch :/
No clue why Nintendo still markets the Switch as 'home' console, if the only games we get are indies, which look like crap on large TV and are best played on the road, on a small portable screen...
I don't mind Zelda staying an open world game, but only if Nintendo learns more about that format. BotW was a good game, but nowhere near as good as other open world games available - most important point being lack of engaging side quests.
