@stocko Doraemon needs to be edited in the US? I’m truly surprised since I can’t think about anything I’ve seen in a Doraemon episode that could be considered inappropriate even in the US. Apart from some things and situations that only really make sense if you’re Japanese or know about Japan’s culture there’s absolutely nothing that could be considered inappropriate for kids everywhere in the world.
This is the only EA game that I’m interested in and I’m salty just because I only own a Switch, so I won’t be able to play this game.
Not that I was expecting it to be on Switch anyway but still...
Only owning one console means I’ll be missing on many games, I know but I can’t help it. Not everyone can afford everything they want. I chose the Switch for my gaming and, honestly, I don’t regret it even if it means less third party games.
I really dislike EA and look forward for the day they finally lose the Star Wars license.
@TechaNinja No, they haven't (as per the latests gameplay videos). I know that the slow movement is standard Castlevania stuff... but I still don't like it and in this game it feels specially odd. I just don't like the way she moves.
Between the crazy price and the fake physical version (totally fake since you need to download basically the whole game before being able to play) this game will probably flop making future games unlike to get a release and Warner will blame it on “Nintendo gamers don’t care about MK” instead of “Nintendo gamers don’t like to be cheated on by cheap publishers”
For starters I’ll wait until next year when a GotY version with all the DLC included for a reasonable price will be released. But I’ll still be salty about the mandatory download.
Edited: I’m not mad about the price of the DLC (though I think it’s a tad expensive)
I’m mad because when I buy a physical version I want just that. Having to download most of the game to be able to play it’s not what I consider to be a physical version. I’m pretty sure Warner could have used a 32GB card without losing profits on each game. I would have even accepted a slightly higher price for it, but not this.
It’s astounding how some people like to feel offended by everything. Isn’t this a game meant just for the laughs? That the devs need to actually go out of their way and say that there’s no porn in it, says a lot.
Some comments here are pure gold.
“Think of the children”, “This makes me feel ashamed to be human” lol... but honestly I’m not sure if those comments should make me laugh or cry.
Surely, flying brains and blood splattered are MUCH better for the children than flying panties. Gutting people really makes everyone feel proud of being human.
@Roanark Maybe, and I understand their decision, but Japan is a difficult market. Here, people want their games physical.
People who only buy digital are still the minority so scrapping the main selling point of the game and announcing it before the game gets released here is not a good message for the market.
Some people will still buy the game for the Arwing model but that’s it. I see the (physical) game selling just a little on Switch and nothing at all on the other platforms.
I will end up buying the digital version but probably not until it gets a substantial discount.
I have a couple of questions about the physical version: Does it comes with the full game in the cart? If I decide to buy the physical version (which comes with less weapons than the digital) can I finish (and enjoy) the game without any problems? I’m just interested in the Star Fox content and will play only with Fox but I’ve heard that you need some specific weapons, that don’t come with the physical version, to defeat some enemies. Is that true?
The game won’t release in Japan until the end of April but they’ve already given up on it. It’s ridiculous. Anyway I don’t care about the physical toys but now I’m not sure I’ll but it. They just told Japanese gamers to just give up on the game before it’s even released. I guess some people will buy the digital version (just for Fox) and die hard fans will get the physical just for the Arwing but “normal” gamers won’t buy the game knowing it’s already dead...
Been waiting for this for ages! It doesn’t look like it’ll be published in Japan so I’ll import. This is definitely a game I’ll be playing as soon as possible.
No inside artwork? That’s really disappointing. I don’t mind the black spine instead of the normal red... but no artwork in the inside is something I really dislike. It makes the whole package to look cheap.
I really like both the game and, specially, the show so it’s great that people in the West will finally have a chance to enjoy both... but...
The localization might prove to be very challenging... This show plays a lot with words and other things that only make sense in Japanese. I wonder how they plan to translate it to English without losing the spark.
Also I’m very curious about how they’re going to handle all the situations and scenes that might be considered “politically incorrect” in the US...
The show might end up losing what makes it fun in the first place. I really hope they give it the necessary care and do a good job with the localization.
I love pixel art but the change to hand drawn graphics for this game is great in my opinion. It gives the game an originality level that puts it apart. It’s screams: “I’m my own new game! Not just a copy of the old ones to appease old fans” That change in art style was the right decision.
Great! I’m picking this up on day one hopefully. Honestly, I find Yokai Watch more appealing than Pokémon in both gameplay and art style. Let’s hope is as good as it looks!
Can I ask what is preventing western magazines and such from doing promotions and events like Japanese magazines do? Remember that this isn’t an initiative from Nintendo. The magazines are the ones going to Nintendo and getting permission to do it. Are game magazines in the West trying to do the same and getting rejected by Nintendo? Or (most probably) those magazines just don’t bother trying?
@Tasuki I think you know little about how Nintendo works, since NoA’s president has little to say about how the company is run or what games/projects are made. He’s just a PR person. Besides, I’m very glad Nintendo keeps doing all the weird things they do instead of trying to become a twin to the twins. I bless them for that.
My first exposure to Skulls Girls was the mobile game... yep, that’s right... I didn’t even know this existed before that. For a mobile game I found the aesthetics and characters to be great. I’m definitely very interested in this but not if I’m force to buy stuff I don’t want (like the vinyl and stickers) just to be able to get a physical copy.
Fighting games are probably my favorite but I’m not good at them and find all those extremely difficult to complete combos a really put off. That’s why I found Cross Tag Battle so good and satisfying.
This game, being for the most hardcore fighting fans might prove too much for me... but I loved Cross Tag Battle so much that I’ll probably pick it up sooner or later.
Sadly, the game looks like it’s not doing well here in Japan. The last I read about it last weekend it had sold only about 2000 copies...
It looks like it’ll be focused mainly on Fire Emblem (at least that’s what the Japanese announcement wording implies) so I see FE taking most of those 35 minutes. Anyway, I hope they reserve some time to announce Metroid Prime Trilogy and a couple of surprises..
I’ve been living in Osaka for 15 years but I’ve never go up that building... just went once to the restaurants in the basement. It’s cool but not well connected. Did they change office recently? Because a few years ago they had their office close to mine...
The service needs a lot of improvements, there's no denying that, and I'm pretty sure that most of those improvement will come ever time.

I'm not sure I would be subscribing if the price was like PS+, even if the service offered was as good as that, with free new games and all...
I wish there was physical version in Japan. So far it looks like it’ll be digital only here.
But good news anyway since it’s the first time that the game is coming to Japan and, apparently, only to the Switch (or at least I haven’t been able to find it in other consoles)
I’m very curious about how the West will receive Liar Princess and Blind Prince.
That was a game I was super hyped for but when I got to play it, I found it to be extremely mediocre and a complete let down. Pretty art style is not enough to make a game interesting, and with that game the art style is the only thing worth talking about. And let’s not talk about the price! A game not worth more than $20 but it was over $70 when I bought it. I could (should) have bought Xenoverse 2 with that money.
@SteveF And what country would that be? Because I’m 42 years old and still remember the 90s and arcade cabinets were huge for a good chunk of the decade...
@NEStalgia Maybe, but a new resolution means a new optimization point for developers to work. Changing resolutions is not just something that can be done without much thought.

@electrolite77 And because a smaller factor will mean less performance/battery life and will make games like DOOM and Wolfenstein and others virtually unplayable. We’re not talking about 1-2 Switch and Mario Party only.
The issue is that with the current chip, there’s absolutely no way you could reduce size and keep performance. Now, if they have a different chip we don’t know about that solves those problems... that would be different.

He’d better be off giving some information about the games they’re developing right now.
I don’t know why everyone is so hyped about Wargroove. I didn’t liked what I saw in that video. I’ll need to check some more information to see what’s all the hype about.

Re: Rumour: Nikkei Suggests Smaller And More Affordable Switch Hardware Is On The Way
Has nobody actually stopped to think about this smaller Switch?
Smaller means that the current Joy-Cons won't be usable. If the controllers in that smaller Switch don't detach, that will mean that some games will be unplayable with that new model. That will split the user base and confuse a lot of people who bought a "Switch" that can't play Switch games. Not the smartest of ideas to confuse the customers.
Then there's the power/heat dissipation/battery life. Smaller means that the GPU will need to be under clocked further to prevent overheating, and makes game's performance much worse (and let's not forget that developers will need to account for a third power configuration: docked, undocked and "small") and with a smaller battery comes shorter battery life.
I don't see a single plus in this rumored smaller Switch, unless they've got a much more efficient GPU/chipset to overcome all those shortcomings. And if they do indeed have a better chip, then it would make more sense to put that in a redesigned Switch of the same size format and increase battery life and heat dissipation.

Sad news, but better late and good than soon and bad.

All those 3D effects only make me motion sick so, no thank you. But if you enjoy it, by all means keep doing it. I don't have a problem with that.
Re: Rumour: Netflix Is Reportedly Working On A Resident Evil Television Series
