Re: Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! Will Receive Drum Set And Physical Release In Europe

maruse

Same tracks as the Japanese version?
I guess it’s easier for them to just release a straight version but some of the tracks doesn’t make any sense outside Japan.

I mean, tracks like the Japanese version of TT or the song from back number (is that band even known outside Japan?) but specially Hikakin’s YouTube song... they’re all fine in Japan but make little sense outside...

Re: Review: Dead Cells (Switch)

@Lina-MG I never said Flame in the Flood is roguelike... just that it was a very bad purchase.

Enter the Gungeon on the other hand, I don't know if it is a roguelike or not and don't care much anyway, but it is classified as one everywhere, so...

Re: Review: Dead Cells (Switch)

maruse

The game looks stunning and I'm very tempted but, honestly, I really dislike rogue-likes and procedurally generated levels.

I bought Enter the Gungeon on a whim last week because it was on sale and I couldn't regret it more. I dislike everything about that game, it has become the worst money spent ever (along with A Flame in the Flood)

If Dead Cells is as difficult and pointless as Enter the Gungeon I'll pass. I'd rather spend that money on Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2 or the All-in-One DLC for BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle...

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct Livestream Coming This Wednesday

maruse

@Big_Ounce I don’t think it has anything to do with hate. I don’t care about Smash in the least but I don’t hate it and I don’t hate Nintendo giving more info about the game.
But people are disappointed because, as of late, there is nothing but Smash, Smash and more Smash.
We want to know if there is actually something for the rest of the year besides Smash and Pokémon.
So, instead of yet another dedicated Direct for Smash, they could have make a general Direct showing what they’ve got for the rest of year and give Smash some minutes in that Direct.
Obviously, that this Direct is focused on Smash doesn’t mean that we won’t get another Direct down the line, but knowing nothing besides Smash is disappointing.
So, it’s not hate, just disappointment.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct Livestream Coming This Wednesday

maruse

Do we actually need more info about Smash Bros after the almost 30 minutes from E3? Specially a full Direct dedicated to it?

I want to see what Nintendo has planned for the rest of the year besides Smash Bros., but it appears they’ve got nothing beyond that as much as they keep saying that the full lineup for the rest of the year haven’t been revealed yet.

It’s be great if I were a Smash fan, but this is the Nintendo IP I care the least about, so the later half of 2018 is totally barren of new (Nintendo) games for me.

Re: Weirdness: YouTube Takes Down Official Senran Kagura Livestream Before It Could Even Finish

And where were all that "nudity and sexual content" exactly?

All those false "morals" that some companies/governments/countries seem to adhere to are so unnatural and hypocritical.

I'd much rather let my kids watch some boobs (even if they're covered by a bikini! Unthinkable!) than letting them see a person being decapitated or disemboweled any day. But it seems that for some self-called "puritans", blood, gore and death are much more tolerable than a bit of "obscene" skin. Disgusting.

Re: Nintendo Under Fire For Not Improving Supply Lines And Sourcing Minerals From Conflict Zones

maruse

The problem is with the source not with Nintendo or any other company (they have little options available to be honest).

It's the mining companies the ones people and governments should be after.

I'd go as far as compare it with the drug world. To solve anything (if that's even possible) you need to target the producers/sellers not the buyers.

I'm not saying that Nintendo should be more selective with its providers though, but putting the blame on them is absurd.

Re: Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! Officially Confirmed For Western Switch Release

maruse

Bandai Namco really need to patch the game as soon as possible to address all the problems when playing with detached Joy-Cons. The game is still very much playable but there are A LOT of false inputs like registering a full movement even if you only moved the Joy-Con just a little bit or confusing one movement with another... As it is now, it is very difficult to get proper combos, although the game is still lost of fun if you just want to burn some stress.

Re: Japanese Man Arrested By Police For Selling Modified Pokémon GO Plus Accessories

maruse

@May_Nyan I'm not a lawyer nor a law maker. I just know that he broke the law, so he got that himself.

There are way more unjust and horrible laws to worry about than a company protecting its trademarks, there's nothing unjust about that.

That the money that guy made was insignificant it's not the point, and he was probably just kept a couple of hours just for a verbal reprimand anyway. There are definitely other better ways to make money than to use other people's branding.

But I'll leave it at here, I'm not trying to turn this into a political debate or something.

Re: Japanese Man Arrested By Police For Selling Modified Pokémon GO Plus Accessories

maruse

@May_Nyan He wasn’t arrested for modifying his own personal device. He modified and sold devices for profit using Nintendo branding without the required permission and that’s what got him arrested. It wasn’t modifying the devices per se, it was selling them as Nintendo products with Nintendo branding.
If you can read Japanese, it’s written on the last paragraph of the Yahoo’s Japan article.

Re: Daemon X Machina Producer Believes A Lot Of Modern Games Look The Same

maruse

@Cobalt Man, you really have got a gift for alienating people against you with your comments.

I’m completely sure that you don’t do it on purpose, but the way you write it (even more that what you actually write) makes people react in a negative way. I think you should try and write with a less aggressive tone or try to be a little bit more diplomatic. I don’t know... it’s hard, I guess, but much better than making a comment and getting lots of angry responses... Being part of a community means that opposing opinions are going to happen, but knowing when to retract or stop is required to keep the community healthy.

About your argument with @JaxonH about Switch being a portable or a console... I must agree with JaxonH here so I have a question for you: does being a console prevent it from being portable? Or being portable stops it from acting like any other console? Switch is both and the same.

Presenting it as a console that you can take on the go or as a portable that you can plug into a TV is saying exactly the same thing in a different way.
It’s like trying to argue that 1+2 is different than 2+1... Meaningless semantics.

Re: Hardware Review: The Shōnen Jump 50th Anniversary Famicom Classic Mini Is Gorgeous, But Pointless

maruse

@electrolite77 I don't know for sure, I've always guessed they are against piracy and hacking for shady reasons... I guess I was naive.

I know they always report about hacking, which is something I don't approve in a site like this, since it only help those who want to hack their systems but aren't sure how to or where to look.

I prefer they would left hacking news for hacking sites.

Re: Rumour: Revised Switch Units With Homebrew Bug Fix Are Now Appearing At Retail

maruse

@Cobalt It's just an analogy. You lock your door to protect your stuff. Nintendo releasing a revision of the hardware is doing the same thing: protecting their stuff.

""Nintendo rushed the Switch (which is basically just an Nvidia Shield rebodied btw) and they let "their door " wide open...""

Was that hardware bug known when the Switch was being developed? Or was it found recently? (Honest question, I don't know)

""Basically Nintendo made "a commercial" to announce the entire world that you can run pirate games and emulators on the system... :/""

and how's so? I don't see how Nintendo made any "advertising"
Hackers and people actively looking to pirate games were aware because they were actively looking for that kind of stuff.
The "normal" people knew about it because general information sites, like this very site, were the ones advertising it.

But, honestly, I really don't understand how can you be against Nintendo trying to protect its property. It's the obvious, right, and legal thing to do.

Edited: I don't know how to get quotes working properly... I wrapped them like this ""..."" for clarity(?)

Re: Rumour: Revised Switch Units With Homebrew Bug Fix Are Now Appearing At Retail

maruse

@rames05 I'm not accusing you personally OK? So, don't take it that way.

I'm saying that saying piracy is a thing because games are expensive is a way of justifying it, isn't it? That's not make it OK anyway.

Also, the distribution of money in the world is totally wrecked, yes, but that has nothing to do with Nintendo in the least, and don't justify theft. Like I said, if someone is forced to steal food from the market to feed his kids, I'll understand that and even defend him, but someone stealing a game is not in the same league. There's no justification for that.

Please, don't mix the two because poverty and game piracy are different subjects.

Re: Rumour: Revised Switch Units With Homebrew Bug Fix Are Now Appearing At Retail

maruse

@Cobalt So, what would you have Nintendo do, nothing? Should they just give up and let them do whatever they want?
Nintendo is in its right and obligated to fight back in any way they see fit.
Why do you lock your home's door when you go out? Anyone who wants to break in will probably do it anyway so, why bother?

@Heavyarms55 It is not the right move from Nintendo's point of view. It is the right move, period. That it won't stop hackers into finding a different way doesn't mean Nintendo should do nothing about it.

@rames05 So you basically telling me that because a Ferrari is too highly priced and I can't afford one, it's acceptable if I try to steal one?
Food and water are basic necessities, games are not. A game is a luxury that if you can't afford, you just don't buy it.
I'm no telling you that I'm OK with games being expensive, what I'm telling you if that I'm not OK with justifying theft because they are expensive.

Re: The Roguelite Platforming Of Dead Cells Has A 7th August Release Date On Switch

maruse

One thing I don’t like about this type of games is the procedurally generated levels. All feels random (because it is) and can become frustratingly difficult.
Nothing gets close to manually designed levels.
Anyway, it looks great so I’ll probably end up buying it and stopping playing it after a few hours and pulling the hairs out of my head out of frustration.
