Bandai Namco has announced that Doraemon Story Of Seasons will be launching on Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe in autumn 2019.
You might remember our story from earlier this month, in which we shared all we knew about the upcoming title. Essentially, the game is a crossover game between Story of Seasons (which used to be known as Harvest Moon) and Japanese manga series Doraemon. We've got some PR below to give you a little more detail:
The popular anime character – Doraemon meets the hugely popular Story of Seasons series in a brand new game DORAEMON STORY OF SEASONS. Players will be able to enjoy traditional Story of Seasons activities like growing crops, cultivating their farm, exploring, bug hunting and many more.
Nobita and other familiar faces from the Doraemon franchise will take part in a heart-warming journey across the games original town. Players will develop the town and their own farm while interacting and forming bonds with the other inhabitants. Of course, Doraemon’s secret gadgets will be there to help them along the way!
Are you excited to get your hands on this one? Glad that it's coming to the west? Let us know in the usual spot.

Hell yes. Never had a first comment before. Happy that they decided to release this outside of Japan. I'm sure my wife will ignore me for days as soon as we get it.
Wow, here I thought The Doraemon Story of Seasons wouldn't receive a release outside of Japan considering Doraemon media isn't featured much elsewhere. Exciting news for fans!
@mazz Why do people care about first comments? It's... embarrassing.
Game looks fun, Switch fans will be spoiled this year between this, My Time at Portia and Animal Crossing.
So, Finally...!
For the first time ever, Doraemon games will going English.
Good to see that it's coming to the west.
Will take any Story of Seasons at this point.
That Harvest Moon was a trainwreck, I mean... It has to be the most grotesque HM adaptation I have seen so far.
@Rob3008 I dunno just because I usually don't have time to even look at most things online until the end of my workday. By that time it doesn't make much sense to comment at all, at least on this site. But after considering your comment...yeah maybe it's little dumb to mention it when I'm clearly the first.
Ooooh, this has my interest! I really would love a Story of Seasons game. I guess it depends how heavily Doraemon features and if it really relies on your familiarity with that franchise. Other than being a cute character from Japanese comics and cartoons I don't know a lot about Doraemon. The trailer perhaps suggest it's not heavily comic or cartoon based. It looks more like it just so happens Doraemon is in the game rather than in the Doraemon universe, if you get my meaning?
Always wanted Doraemon 64! Or any Doraemon game. I don't know why, as I had never seen the cartoon, but it just looked like something I wanted to love. Will keep my eye on this one.
I am so glad they decided to release it in the west
PERFECT! I can cancel my pre-order now yay
@Porky Doraemon is quite big in Europe (at least Portugal and Spain). Everyone knows it. I think it never made it to the USA tho.
Doraemon was definitely on tv here so idk what some of you are talking about.
super excited...and shocked. will get this day one.
2019 has been such a good year for me game wise. Can't wait to give this one a go
Brilliant, love the Doraemon universe even though I am 26!
I hope they decide to include an English Dub!
Why is Nobita farming normally at all instead of asking Doraemon for future tech and getting into crazy hijinks as a result.
History of Doraemon on English TV:
Disney XD aired two seasons of the the 2005 anime from 2014-2015. It was a tad edited (names, music and some Japanese items), but the voices fitted with Mona Marshall playing the titular character. Season 3 has yet to air.
In the UK there was a dub produced by LUK international, the European distributor of Doraemon. There were around 26 episodes produced, these had the US name changes, but no edits, no music changes and there was a lovely Opening theme dubbed in English: https://youtu.be/5jL7OnZDSJ4
Doraemon has always been hard to translate, as it is iconically Japanese. Also it is the middle ground of appealing to Japanese children, but still shows things that can't air on US network television without edits.
Very happy this is coming though!
Oh that's unexpected, nice
Sold!! I’m happy this is making it here in the west.
I... what? Doraemon? In NA? Well, I guess I don't have to import this now. I'm certainly happy, if surprised.
Looking forward to this! Doraemon is pretty well-known in Italy - I remember watching the dubbed anime growing up, right alongside Pokemon - so it’s going to be a nice throwback for me!
Looks VERY charming! I'm guessing it doesn't have the romance/relationship element's?
How come I didn't see Doraemon in the video at all.
@RazumikhinPG A few years ago, like 2015 or so, Disney XD started airing a Dub for a Doraemon anime. I think it lasted 2 seasons and it was a great dub. But sadly they stopped airing it, and instead replaced it with their dub of Yokai Watch. Which is still ongoing, though for some odd reason they changed all the voice actors for the season 3 dub of Yokai Watch.
@stocko Doraemon needs to be edited in the US? I’m truly surprised since I can’t think about anything I’ve seen in a Doraemon episode that could be considered inappropriate even in the US. Apart from some things and situations that only really make sense if you’re Japanese or know about Japan’s culture there’s absolutely nothing that could be considered inappropriate for kids everywhere in the world.
Allways loved the Doraemon anime, can´t wait to play this, i´m much more excited for this then i really should .
@ReWane Watch the japanese trailer, Doraemon and all the other characters are there.
@maruse Doraemons a fairly innocent show, but it does have some moments that wouldn't be as acceptable over here. Like when Nobita peeks on his friend in the show. Which for some odd reason seems to be a real iconic staple of the series. In almost every incarnation of Doraemon no matter what changes they make, they always add that storyline in.
