Sure enough, there was a DLC announcement at EVO Japan 2019, which recently took place in Fukuoka.
Arc System Works revealed Naoto Kurogane (BlazBlue: Central Fiction), Teddie (Persona 4 Arena), Seth (Under Night In-Birth) and Heart Aino (Arcana Heart 3) will all join BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle as DLC fighters this Spring in Japan.
Keep an eye out for more details about these fighters in the near future. In the meantime, check out the frantic update clip below and tell us if you're still enjoying BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle on the Switch, or have perhaps moved onto another fighter.

First. Who said nothing was out on switch this year apart from mario bros deluxe?. I may pick this up if anthem is bad. Yes i know its about the older blazeblue that came on switch not the newer one.
Well there's finally some Persona on Switch haha
Oh yeah, this game is a thing.
Is the game any good by the way? Been tempted with this one. I'm an old school street fighter type who enjoys all capcom fighters (marvel vs capcom included), dead or alive and king of fighters. Is this one going to hit the spot?
@Blofse
It's much more fast-paced than Street Fighter, but I think you'll enjoy it. Personally Blazblue is my favorite fighting game series next to Street Fighter and Smash, and I still play Cross Tag from time to time.
They need to update this game more frequently or else Joker coming to Smash will make it irrelevant come April.
Teddie should've been in the base roster given his significance to P4's main cast, but it's cool.
This game still has life in it, and I doubt Joker/P5 content in Smash Bros will immediately negate its existence
As long as they add an arcade mode, I'll be happy. More fighters is always a welcome addition. Wonder what the sixth franchise teased at the end will be.
Aw, no new "RWBY" characters?
@NicolausCamp so if no arcade mode, what is there now?
@bones After the latest direct, I don't think anyone's saying that. Maybe Spring is a bit barren, but the rest of the year is packed.
@Blofse There's training, versus, story and survival for the offline part.
@NicolausCamp @BulbasaurusRex This is the best news since the Direct. Would love an arcade style mode as not a big online player. Shame about no more RWBY characters as it would blow my world if they added Penny or JNPR.
Ooh looks nice!
The senran kagura characters Asuka and Yumi had supposedly been datamined in the announcer voices so there's probably many more to come.
I've only tried the online once but it's a fun fighter for local play with my kid. I don't see Smash DLC making it irrelevant, they're totally different games and nobody is playing this just for Joker.
@ilikeike I upvoted your reply to my comment. What I meant to say was the year so far but i didnot make that clear. Your right there was a lot of good things in that direct.
Still waiting for the arcade... which I hope will come with the spring update since the game is getting its arcade machine in Japan this spring.
Yay!!! Kinda wish I’d just bought the season pass/fighter bundle now though.
garbagggggggggggggggggggggggggge.
@Blofse
I’m also a big SF fan and I’d recommend going for BlazBlue Central Fiction instead of this. It’s a more technical/complex and feels more like SF than this, plus has some of the best single player content I’ve seen in a fighting game (the Grim of Abyss mode is amazing).
Oddly, this site hasn’t review Central Fiction yet, but there are some other great reviews for the Switch version if you google it.
It was strange to me that BB Naoto wasn't in the game in the first place.
great game but once again it has the pixelated edges to the characters, it ruins the aesthetic.
Wow this game is still getting support? Are those arcade machines in the lobby still useless? I ask because the online and offline sure has been.
@humbucker thanks for your help, looks a much better game!
