Re: Video: Feeling Hungry? Learn How To Play Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido With This New Trailer

maruse

I played the demo and loved it way more than I thought. I don’t think that the price is a real problem, what I think is that this game is not geared too much for a Western audience and outside Japan is not going to get many sales. Japanese are going to be much more in touch with art style, the crazy story and the sushi puns and all than anyone else. I don’t see it breaking any sales records in Japan either, but it’ll probably fare much better around here.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Make Of The Three Big Pokémon Games Coming To Nintendo Switch?

maruse

@KirbyTheVampire #6 I couldn't have said it better myself.
Some people are disappointed or downright angry at Pokemon Let's Go, but I believe that those games are the perfect way to attract new players to both the Pokemon series and, more importantly, the Switch. More sales is a good thing for everyone, both Nintendo and all gamers.
The hardcore fans will get their time next year and in the meantime, giving these game a little chance won't hurt anyone.

Re: Exclusive: Wulverblade Is Going On Sale To Celebrate Its Biggest Update Yet

maruse

@fullyilly Honestly, if the game ends up being released in Japan I won’t be able to thank you enough!
I’ve never been this hyped for an indie game since the original Shovel Knight and that’s not just flattery, it’s the truth.

If you could accept a suggestion, I really hope that the option to freely choose the game’s language is available.
A lot of games come with several languages but they don’t allow you to choose, they just pick up the default language of the system instead. A simple menu allowing you to choose would be very appreciated.

Re: Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version Doesn't Really Work Outside of Japan

maruse

Not too happy about all this "cloud" thing... I prefer to own the games instead of renting them. Also streaming comes with a lot of problems, from unstable connexions to input lag. The fact that you need to be tethered to the Internet to play this single player game, defeats completely the motto of the Switch since you can't play "Wherever. Whenever."
I hope other publishers don't follow suit and this ends being just an odd experiment.

Re: Japanese Version Of Resident Evil 7 On Switch Has An English Language Option

maruse

@Heavyarms55 I tried it this morning and it played smoothly enough. The only issue I had was that the sound was popping in and out constantly...
That and that with only fifteen minutes I could only get into the house and the demo time finished just when I was going upstairs. I didn't have time to try anything... I just wandered around some empty rooms. I would've liked to know how the game run with some action heavy scenes...
I'm not giving Capcom my money for this thing....

Re: Exclusive: Wulverblade Is Going On Sale To Celebrate Its Biggest Update Yet

maruse

@roboshort Well, except that it is... For starters I don't want to fragment everything among several accounts, then I need to create and account with a fake address and then there is the issue of adding funds to that account since Japanese credit cards aren't accepted in the US eShop...
For some people it is OK going through all that, but not for me. I'd rather wait until the game comes to Japan and if it never does... well, I guess I'll never play it then...

Re: Guide: Nintendo E3 2018 Press Conference Schedule, Rumours, Hopes, And Dreams

maruse

@Executer66 You don’t need to apologize for anything! I don’t think that what you wrote could offend anyone! And I didn’t reply trying to “defend” that game, just to point out that a HD remake could be something I wouldn’t mind getting and, in fact, it would pleasantly surprise me!
Anyway, I totally see your point since with Nintendo we don’t really know what to expect.

Re: No Plans For Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 On Nintendo Switch, Treyarch Says

maruse

@BigKing Well, considering that the install base of Switch is still smaller than PS4 or Xbox One and that publishers like EA, Bethesda or Capcom have publicly said that they are very satisfied with the sales they’re getting on Switch that “third parties never perform well on Nintendo systems” is not very accurate this time.
I’m not accusing you of being a fanboy (I don’t even know you) but you do sound like one, since you only comment to point out how bad Nintendo systems are compared with the competition.
And for Black Ops not coming to Switch, I couldn’t care less since the killing of the single player campaign also killed the game for me. Another game franchise I don’t need to care about ever again.

Re: Resident Evil 7 Is Coming To Nintendo Switch In Japan

maruse

@OorWullie Except for the fact that you are renting the game instead of buying it. $20 (more or less) might not seem much at first sight... but you are paying for the privilege of playing for a limited amount of time only.
Honestly, I don't like this approach.

Re: Review: Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition (Switch)

maruse

@cfgk24 I haven’t played that game (or this one) so I can’t say for sure, but all the other Warriors games I’ve ever played before, lost their appeal within the first hour of playing them. I just don’t see how a Zelda or Fire Emblem re-skin could change that, so I’m very apprehensive about expending my money on them. They’re just not my cup of tea I guess.
But it is awesome that you do enjoy them though!

Re: You Can Start Building Your Nintendo Account Family Group Ahead Of The Switch Online Launch

maruse

I need a family sharing policy for digital purchases before I even consider getting a Switch for each of my kids.
Also it is not clear if kids accounts under a parent account need the family subscription to be able to play or just a single subscription will suffice.
For different users with different Switches I understand, but if with only just one Switch shared among all users we still need to pay for a family subscription I won’t be happy at all, since only ONE person can use the online at a given time and paying multiple times seems abusing on Nintendo’s part.
I’m contacting Nintendo’s customer service directly to try to clarify this.

Re: New Splatoon Secret Project Is Set To "Shock The World" Just Days Before E3

maruse

I think people are reading too much into this.
Too be honest, I don't see anything in that page that might tease a new game or something similarly big that Nintendo might announce.
I'd love to be proven wrong, but I think that this is just the magazine teasing a Japan only contest, or promotion, or god-knows-what, related to Splatoon 2 and not a Nintendo's announcement or anything. Don't get your hopes too high.
But like I said, I'd love to be proven wrong.

Re: Soapbox: Let's Give Nintendo Switch Online A Chance Before We Throw It To The Wolves

maruse

For the price, it is a perfectly nice offering but, you know? Haters gonna hate and whiners gonna whine.
What are people expecting? To pay $20 and get NES, SuperNES, N64, GameCube and Wii games from the start? And then just give us new Switch games for free too.

The ONLY complaint that is deserved is the lack of back up saves locally to a microSD card and the weird way of doing voice chat (though I couldn’t care less about that since I’ve never used chat on multiplayer games and I will never ever use it), everything else is just whining.
