I preordered Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, and will likely get Dispatch and Caves of Qud, with the latter depending on how it runs (it may be better for PC). I have other Trails games to play first, to see if this series is right for me.

I’m boycotting this demo because it’s digital only and when the physical comes out, it is game key card. Two thumbs down all around.

My son keeps asking to pre-order Tomodachi Life and I have already pre-ordered Final Fantasy. Beyond those I’ll probably pre-order Dispatch versus wait for a sale and see if there is a collectors edition of Fire Emblem. There’s about a half a dozen other they’ll eventually pick up on their initial sale but nothing that launch or full price because…backlog.

I wonder if this is the year that Super Mario Bros Wonder will crack the top 10 of all-time best selling Switch games, due to the expansion..

I got the physical edition from VGC. It was intriguing, but made it's way to the backlog when Hades 2 came out. I was thinking of checking it out again with the new update.

It seems like the same 30 games every month, with a few new ones having their 15 minutes of fame.

I got it on discount, and I’m having a good time with it. I agree with what someone said earlier than some of the colors blend together.

I wonder if the game itself was censored, because if so you are not getting the original concept or full experience. I was going to pre-order to save $3, but I may wait for a review?

I just started Clair Obscur on PlayStation it is… fine. I’m about 3 hours in.

This bundle saved me some coin at launch. No regrets.

The pixel art Speedo shorts on the polar bear on the NA cover seems that much more inappropriate.

This year in gaming is about an 8/10, but we always want 9+, and who can blame us because 2025 overall was a 5 for me, and gaming is supposed to make up for it.

True my PS5 games install the base files mostly from disc, and updates from the internet. Since I have 1 Gig download speed, I can't tell the difference. People complain when the ratio of files on disc versus mandatory download is poor, but usually not to the point of frank boycotting. There really are more important things going on the in the world than the format in which entertainment is fed to us.

I’m not defending game key cards by any means but for the people who say they will boycott Nintendo and then look to another platform such as PC Xbox or PlayStation what exactly do you think you’re getting on those other platforms in terms of physical media?

Many people asked why do digital games cost as much as physical given that you are not getting as much "stuff." I guess the solution may be to lock in digital games at $70, then charge $10-20 more for the physical. In essence, every physical game is a quasi "collectors edition" just by existing. For instance, I got the Castelvania: Dominus Collection from LRG for about $43 with shipping, even though the digital is often on sale for less than half that much.

Given that this is a sudden free upgrade, people should be more grateful. I'm not sure how many more copies will sell on Switch 2 compared to the amount of resources spent, and Larian had no obligation to do this on a several years old game. Celebrate the victory and go home.
That being said, where's my BG3 with mouse UI ?! C'mon, Larian!

I picked this up at 50% off a while back. I'm not a graphics snob, but in this case the blurriness detracted from the experience. This is something I will be sure to revisit, if/when I get my own Switch 2, or when my son goes to university next year, he will be leaving his behind (or else!), and it will be the "family" Switch 2 on the 4K big screen TV rather than kept in his room.

I am also hopeful if Larian sees this as a stepping stone to make a BG3 Switch 2 port.

I believe it’s a loophole because the bundle is tied to the console purchase so it counts as a physical purchase. There ought to be some explanation though.

I’m ready to retire Hades 2. I achieved everything on the list, although I did have to turn on some of the assist mode to beat the enhanced final boss.

The rumors were that we would get a KOTOR.1 or 2 remake update the TGA, so I wonder if this was it, and the KOTOR remake is dead. Personally, I always wanted a.KOTOR 3, so if this is game actually comes out, I'll take it over KOTOR remake, as those games were awesome, but maybe belong in the past. I have played KOTOR multiple times on Xbox, PC-CD, Steam PC/Mac, iPhone, and Switch.

I just checked the app and I’m over 200 hours into Hades 2. I pretty much did everything except the alternate bosses because I don’t think I can do that without God mode. I think it’s time to wrap up and start playing other games again.

The problem with an 18 year wait between Metroid Prime sequels is that the fan base may no longer exist. The series was not a huge seller to begin with either.
Prime 4 seemed to have sold quite a bit more than Prime Remastered though.

I never played it, but I heard somewhere a suggestion that if the little characters walking around inside the game were Pikmin (similar to the 3DS save transfer) and they marketed it as a spinoff, then it would’ve had more interest even at $10.

I have the Anniversary Edition on PlayStation and I have a PS Portal so maybe that’s just how I should play it if I ever get around to it.

With all the releases of Skyrim, I was hoping at some point they would remake Morrowind.

I'm not sure if used console sales count in this figure. I'm not even sure if new PS4 sales are accurate. I have always held that the 13 PS4 sales counted amongst tens of thousands of PS5 sales are some type of data entry or tabulation error. That sort of thing happens all the time. Is somebody going out to the countryside to literally check the receipts?

Ya I guess because it is bundled with a physical console and not purely a download, they found a loophole.

I am pleasantly surprised by the original Switch version.

This is shaping up to be a good game, given that it has to balance the relatively low sales and budget of this series versus its reputation and anticipation of a sequel

I don’t know, I think Tomodachi Life still has its share of fans. It might even outsell Metroid, judging by the 3DS version.

I still can’t put down Hades 2 to give Clair Obscur at try. I played the opening 15 minutes or so of the latter, and I could tell it would be one of those deep and somber slogs.
As for the rest of the list, I still want to get Dispatch, Hundred Line, Ball x Pit, and Absolum.

I have started Metroid Prime on GC, Wii U, and Remastered each for an hour or two but never completed. I'd like to play through that before I consider the sequels.

Yes, Balatro was addictive and I put at least 50 hours into it before breaking free, but I would not want to take away the experience.
I also tried it out on other platforms, including PlayStation iPhone and MacBook, but Switch was the only one that I really sunk time into.

That’s what I was worried about and that’s why I just physically carry my OLED Switch to the basement dock, even though we have our OG there
I don’t want to bother with transferring the game back-and-forth. Within my household of five, we have the OG Switch, two OLEDs, and a Switch 2, and that gets very confusing.

I will be curious that without a Switch 1 Mario Kart bundle this year if they see a spike in holiday sales, because I’m still rooting for them to get to 160 million.

I almost never buy games at lunch at full price, but I’ve been playing this digital on Switch OLED and I’m easily past the 50 hour mark
I’ll probably get the Switch 2 physical for my collection as a double dip sometime down the line if it ever goes on sale because I will do double dipping for my game of the year candidates

It's interesting the original FFVII jumped from N64 to Playstation due to storage space on CD's vs cartridges.

I expect the mid-cycle refresh to go to 512GB, much like the Switch 1 OLED is 64GB rather than 32GB.

I sometimes prefer a divisive game to one with universal acclaim. I rate Baldur's Gate 3 an 8/10, but most everyone had it 9 or 10. On the other hand, I though Fire Emblem: Engage was my GOTY in 2023, after sinking 150 hours into it. The FE crowd was mixed on it.

I got this on PS4 for cheap, and I'm not sure why it needs a remaster. I'm not sure a Switch 1 version will play much better... at least it is not $60, and I expect it will get discounted below $30 in short order.
I'm still holding out for Tales or Arise Ultimate Edition for Switch 2
