Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?

Going to finish Wolfenstein II these next few days. With motions controls this game is a joy in handheld mode while on vacation. And the cutscenes in this game has just gotten more and more enjoyable towards the end. Really hope the first game will release on the Switch as well!!

Re: Nindies Respond To Nintendo Releasing High Volume Of Games On Switch eShop

icebear80

Since I've been primarily a Nintendo gamer the last 7 years, this situation of getting 30, 20 or even 10 games a week feels overwhelming. On the Wii U it was fairly easy to find the quality games on the e-shop and most games were also reviewed by NintendoLife and other good Nintendo gaming sources, including youtube channels. So now I will rely even more on these gaming sources to do an even better job at picking out which games are quality and maybe for me. Keep up the good work NintendoLife!

Will most likely get Octopath, but it has to wait a few weeks before getting played. Gonna finish the games I planned to finish this summer first... its not easy to do with all the games coming out now!

Re: Nintendo UK Is Asking For As Much As £180 To Repair Cracked Switch Consoles

icebear80

After the last article about this I inspected my own Switch (bought on launch) and found the exact same cracks near the vent that the picture in this article shows :/ Didn't notice them before this and doesn't concern me that much, but it seems the back of my Switch is getting a bit loose close to the vent as well so I'll send an E-mail to Bergsala who handles Nintendo products in Norway and see what they say about these issues.

Re: Fortnite Season 5 Launches Today, Adds Gyro Controls On Switch And Lots More

@HobbitGamer I see how the building aspect makes this game a bit unique and I feel one has to master it in order to get those Victory Royale. Twice been the second last one standing coming up against people who has built giant towers in the middle of the barren land in the middle of the last circles. Given me very little chance. But its a quite fun game anyway

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's E3 2018 Went Big On Smash Bros. But Left Us Wanting More

icebear80

I feel dissappointed, but still I mostly feel sorry for Nintendo themselves. As the fall right now looks quite empty for big releases and Smash being in december, long after they start charging for playing online, it feels like they lost a lot of their momentum. Pokemon GoGo might reel some people in, but for players who like single player games there isn't much to be hyped about. Fire Emblem looks good, but spring 2019 could mean 11 months from now :/ I'll be surprised if they hit their 20 million systems sold target during this fiscal year. Please have a September Direct with lots of big 3rd party support!!

Re: E3 2018: What Do You Want To See From Nintendo At E3?

icebear80

Smash Bros will be cool to see more of and we can hope for a small Metroid Prime 4 teaser, but I'm mostly crossing my fingers for some good 3rd party AAA game support. If Fallout Shelter is the only Fallout game on Switch after todays Direct, it's weird. There must be something going on between Nintendo and Bethesda. I haven't played a lot of the big games on other platforms, so if we could get ports of GTA V, The Witcher or the like, I'd be happy. Then I want to see Fire Emblem and get a release date (this fall). And I'm a bit curious about this Star Fox Grand Prix Just hours to go...

Re: Dataminer Finds Fortnite Update in Switch eShop

But, will it be free-to-play on Switch? Will it have cross-platform play with other consoles? Gyro aiming (or will that kill cross-platform possibility?)? Some factors I think are important for this to be a success on the Switch. I hope this isn't the Switch online-subscription release and they push Smash back to November... Anyway, guess I'll finally try this game and it should be a great punchline for their E3 presentation, especially if it is available "right now"!

Re: Nintendo Download: 24th May (Europe)

Already bought Runner 3 and Bloodstained. Two wonderful games for not too much money. And of course I'll try out the Mario Tennis Aces online tournament. And for those mildly interested in football, I can highly recommend FIFA18 for that price. The game is actually very good for a FIFA game on a Nintendo platform and I don't think the developers have gotten enough credit for making a solid Switch version. With the upcoming FREE DLC for the World Cup it's very good value for your money. I guess these discounts mean that we will get a new FIFA this fall as EA never discounted FIFA13 on the Wii U e-shop (that game is still $60!) and we never got any other FIFA after that...

Playing a bit of Runner 2 on the WiiU gamepad, as I don't bother to connect the WiiU to the TV, and warming up to Runner 3 releases next week. Really looking forward to playing a runner game on the Switch in handheld mode as the gamepad feels so like a plastic toy now in comparison! After having been on both team Raph and Donnie the last weekends, I'll choose Donnie again this weekend!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?

Just finished Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (what a game!) and I'll wait for the new story DLC before I go on with new game+. So this weekend I started a new RPG, Earthlock, Festival of Magic which I kickstarted (cause it's from a Norwegian developer I have faith in) and recently got my Switch code. Looks interesting so far... And then I'll join the Splatfest and try promote further in FIFA18 with my Ultimate team in online divisions.

Re: FIFA 18's Free World Cup Mode Arrives On May 29th

icebear80

I have played FIFA18 and especially FUT a lot on the Switch. A great game and FUT is an interesting concept. I never paid for any packs, but I can see why people is angry about the loot system. Feels quite unfair. Would have felt cheated if I spent extra money on it. It's quite smart of EA to give this World Cup mode for free and create new hype around the game and sell more packs... They did the same trick in 2014 I believe, not stand alone game as the article says.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Version 1.4.0 Launches Later This Week

icebear80

I'm on chapter 7 and having a very good time with this game. Played about 65 hours so far and doing some side quests now and then I don't feel the need to grind and have enjoyed most of my hours. Maybe the story is quite out there, but this is a Xenoblade game and in my opinion it is not far behind the first one!
