The weekend is here, so we've got a lovely Talking Point to get that much-needed break going. Team Nintendo Life has plenty of titles on its collective 'to-do' list, with everything from sports sims and paint-addled shooters to music creation suites and vibrant RPGs. We're an eclectic bunch. Be sure to leave a vote in the poll if anything takes your fancy, and a leave a comment with your hot picks. Have a great weekend!

It's Bank Holiday Weekend here in the UK, so I'll be spending that smidgen of extra time playing KORG Gadget for our official review (look out for it next week on Nintendo Life). I'll be delving back into my days of studying Music Tech at college as I create the world's most pitiful attempts at chiptune magic.

I've also been playing a lot of FIFA 18 recently (I needed a break from NBA 2K18), so I'll no doubt be giving Arsenal an actual fighting chance of winning something this year. Because the real-life team certainly has n chance. The sad life of a Gooner, eh?

I'm stuck on my own for most of this weekend, so I suppose I'll probably be doing more Splatoon 2 than anything else. Might dip my toe into a smidge of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze as well, but a lot of what I'm doing will be beholden to whether or not I'm able to brew properly. Some of you may not know this, but I've started brewing my own beer, largely as a way to have a hobby that isn't also my job. That last part is unrelated but I had to pad this out somehow didn't I?

I dunno why but I’ve been investing some time into Destiny 2 the past week, but immediately hit a wall after the campaign and DLC. So forget Destiny – it’s back to Splatoon 2 and Lost Sphear for me. I won’t have a lot of time to stare at my Switch though – or any screen for that matter – so it’s a good thing I got myself a Pokémon GO Plus. I’ve resisted it for as long as I could but my phone battery’s taking too much of a hit from walking around staring at it every time it vibrates, so it will be a godsend to just tap a button on my wrist instead.

Aside from meeting up with my small but wonderful Splatoon 2 community that I've managed to round up in my dedicated Discord channel for some Splatfest carnage, I'll be sitting down and getting cosy to review Animal Super Squad for you lovely bunch. The game comes from the (master?)minds behind Goat Simulator so it should be a decent little gem to experience. Oh, and I'll be playing a video game where the main bloke shouts "BOY!" if I get a moment to spare.

This weekend sees the start of the Splatoon 2 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Splatfest tournament so this is a perfect opportunity to grind for lots of juicy gear ability chunks. I hope to take part in all three rounds over the coming weeks, hopefully giving myself the best chance of getting the abilities I need for my playstyle.

This weekend also sees the release of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Switch, which launched itself right towards the top of my all-time favourite game list when it arrived on Wii U a few years back. If I get a chance, I’ll be booting up this wonderful thing of beauty for a second time over the next few days – and you should definitely do the same!

Busy weekend with both ARMS Party Crash event and the Splatoon 2 Splatfest Tournament on the menu. Not sure if the later is really a contest at all since everyone knows Raphael is the best turtle (shut up, Mikey!). I will also be checking out Gear.Club Unlimited's new camera and free new cars update, pretend to have time to go back to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Ah! Nope!) and play the brand new Funky Kong Country: Tropical Freeze because despite managing to make my way to the final world on the previous hardware generation, I kinda forgot to complete it…
