Re: Nintendo Didn't Mention Mobile At E3 2015 Because It Was The Wrong Crowd

genericmelancholy

I think Bethesda announcing Fallout Shelter actually built up some hype for their upcoming main series game, and kept momentum. Unlike EA, they didn't dedicate an entire section to it. Also, since it was released right after the conference, it had a very successful launch, overtaking Candy Crush Saga on iTunes. Not saying Nintendo should have done the same thing, but it's something that all companies should take home from E3.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Approach to amiibo is Increasingly Frustrating

genericmelancholy

Nintendo aren't even focusing on their original plans for amiibo. Smash Bros is still the only title in 7 months to use amiibo correctly. All they're doing now is "tap it onto the gamepad and you power up" or something like that. A quote from Bill in the E3 2014 amiibo trailer: "Even if both you and your friend have a Link amiibo, they won't be the same". That's a concept Nintendo are failing to approach. If both me and my friend by the Super Mario Maker amiibo, they will be EXACTLY the same. To be honest, it's just like putting £20 worth of DLC into a game for something not worth anything near that amount.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 Digital Event?

genericmelancholy

Amiibo is becoming overpriced day 1 DLC hidden behind cute figures. An entire game where you can only play using amiibo? That's the actual price of the game+4 amiibo.

Metroid without Samus? What's next, Zelda without Link?

Starfox looks cool. Nintendo with da barrel roll memes...

Super Mario Maker...Super Mario Maker...Super Mario Maker...seriously, way too much footage of this game. At least make it for 3DS...

Paper Mario x Mario and Luigi? Looks interesting...

Wait, is that it? What about Pokemanz? Pikachu? WHERE ARE YOU PIKACHU!?!!?! Seriously, no new Pokemon game? What are you thinking Nintendo/Game Freak...

Re: Nintendo UK Marketing Boss Shelly Pearce Leaves After 17 Years

Talking about Nintendo UK marketing in general, they need to increase the number of ads they put on TV. And, when they do put ads on, they should be more than 10 seconds long.

Now, compare an American Nintendo Direct to a European one. The American one is clearly more flashy and fun, while the European one just has a white background with Shibata/Somebody else talking. And, while Nintendo UK's ads don't "directly" (see what I did there) reflect their directs, it still gives you an idea of how unimaginative the ads are (not saying UK directs are bad or anything-just less flashy than the NA ones).

tl;dr Nintendo need to up their game and make their advertising more imaginative.

Re: Iwata Reveals a Bit More Information on Nintendo's Upcoming Integrated Membership Service

To modernise and make this platform successful, Nintendo needs to include one or more of these things:

1. A cloud sync system (like Steam, XBlive, etc)
2. Better online functionality in games like Smash (voice chat, no having to add people to your friend list so you can play with them, etc)
3. A better Youtube program (this will generally increase sales of the new console and Nintendo games- a must!)
4. A less gimmicky controller for their new console...

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Comfortably Out-Sell Predecessors at Launch

@LasermasterA At least the loading times aren't as bad as Smash...Anyway, I've just clocked 45 hours into MH4U, and I just can't stop playing. I've completed the main story (I assume Shagaru Magala was the 'final boss' right?), but their is so much more. After the main story, you get to do High and later G-rank quests, which provide at least another 500 hours...

Re: Guide: Getting The Most Out of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

genericmelancholy

Expeditions are so fun; one time I had to hunt both a Great Jaggi and a Kut-cu at the same time! One thing to note is that by default, only 2 different monsters (large/small) will appear on Expeditions. However, if on the Expeditions menu it says that the environment is 'Unstable', then up to 5 different monster types will spawn. You can also find Rusted equipment by mining (but it is very rare), which could be more or less powerful than the one you make yourself! (e.g. Say Hunter's Boots has 10 defence by default, but you can find Rusted Hunter's Boots on Expeditions which could have 21 defence!) Unlike Quests, you don't have a time limit/death limit before you lose. Also, you won't be given things like First-Aid Meds, so be sure to come prepared!

Re: Nintendo Goes Big With Videos for New Nintendo 3DS and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

genericmelancholy

Ugh...All the new features are amazing, but I'm still shocked at the fact it's £180. It's really annoying, considering the fact that most of the games coming out this month really rub in your face the fact that they will have better control with the C-Stick, better 3D viewing, etc on the new models. Also, why do Nintendo UK always use that same damn annoying music in every video they make?!
