Nintendo has announced that Fullblox is available to download on the European 3DS eShop from today. The game - which is the latest in a series of titles which includes Pullblox and Fallblox - features the rotund Mallo as he attempts to solve a wide range of puzzles.
The unique thing about this offering - which launched yesterday in Japan under the title Pushmo: Hippa Land - is that it's entirely free to download, with tutorial levels up for grabs right away.
Here's some more detail from the official PR:
The newest entry in the series offers a brand new twist to the formula by adding extra directions of movement in which to push and pull: now you can grab hold of blocks not just from the front, but also the rear and both left and right sides, adding even more layers of complexity to the much-loved head-scratching fun – not to mention a good reason to observe the puzzles in 3D. Also new, in Fullblox you can pull and push up to three squares compared to previous games' two squares of movement. But don't worry, just like previous games if you make a mistake, just rewind time and try again! Fullblox also sees the return of the popular level editor, called Fullblox Studio in this version, which allows for almost limitless possibilities to create and share, along with almost endless puzzles created by other users to enjoy.
If you want to play more, then you can download one of the DLC packs:
- Mallo's Playtime Plaza (£4.49): 100 progressively challenging levels that introduce the basics of the game.
- Poppy's Sculpture Square (£2.69): 50 puzzle levels shaped like animals and objects.
- Corin's Fortress of Fun (£2.69): 50 levels featuring new gizmo obstacles and enemies.
- Papa Blox's NES Expo (£2.69): A treat for retro fans that features 50 levels based on classic NES characters.
Alternatively, you can access the packs in bundles:
- Bundle featuring all four DLC packs, £8.99
- Bundle of three DLC packs after Mallo's Playtime Plaza has already been purchased, £6.29
- Bundle of any three DLC packs after already purchasing one of the following: Poppy's Sculpture Square, Papa Blox's NES Expo or Corin's Fortress of Fun, £8.09

Did i perhaps miss out on something amazing by not playing pullblox and fallblox?
Downloading as soon as I get a Eshop card (I'm a penny off at my current eShop balance) I love this series.
OMGOMGOMG
Please be out in North America tonight.
@The__Goomba
Sir, you appear to have missed the part where the download and starting levels are free!
You can enjoy a bit now, buy the rest later.
There were rumours yesterday that the framerate varies based on the system but I can confirm that is actually true.
Old 3DS models (regular, XL and 2DS) runs at 30 frames
New 3DS models runs at 60 frames.
This is really unusual because the previous two entries were 60 frames when played on Old 3DS models and this series isn't the most graphically demanding...
I'm confused, whats new in this game? other than the levels i mean, couldn't you always grab blocks from the side?
Oh well, either way I'm intrigued
@RupeeClock Don't expect too much of the part that you can play for free. They're just a handful of tutorial levels.
@ShanaUnite How can we know?
I have the 3 previous games and I really enjoy them. Still haven't finished all as these are the type of games I play from time to time, when I have some spare minutes (like waiting for someone). I guess this is one of the series that could work quite well on mobile.
@SirQuincealot
You could pull blox from the side but then still only extend them on one axis, as opposed to two.
@Greenalink Original 3DS here. Noticed this as soon as I booted up the game.
As for anyone who hasn't played a Pullblox game before, I would definitely recommend you check out at least one of the previous games. The original and sequel on the 3DS are great value, as is the WIi U eShop release. Despite the unique price model, I'm sure this new one will be similar to the previous offerings.
So I guess the North American version will be called “Crushmo”?
EDIT: Nope, Stretchmo.
Fullblox? Kind of an oddly unexciting name to go with, isn't it?
Hefty markup on price compared to the Japanese eShop.
@ShanaUnite
Try them. New(ish) IP, great puzzles, lots of colour. Intelligent Systems is behind these games.
@DreamOn Well, it has its reasons. Pullblox = You could only pull blocks. Fallblox = Gravitation came into play, if you pull a block out, everything on top will fall. Fullblox = You can fully move blocks now, not just pull them on one axis.
It might be unimaginative, but its "what it says on the tin"
OMG I quite like the fact I can just buy the puzzles I want and not all that other stuff I won't play anyway. This is free-to-play done right.
Ah come on, hurry up NoA I need this now!
Hippa Land > Fullblox
My son is currently making a series of levels in Pushmo World on Wii U, labeled Level 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 etc, as he waits impatiently for Mario Maker in September (which was supposed to be first half of 2015 I believe).
And this isn't really free-to-play, it's a demo w/ a series of purchasable parts, like Zen Pinball. Or Pokemon Rumble World, b/c I really don't think you can purchase all those hi level expensive balloons w/o purchasing diamonds, it's the perfect example of "free-to-start" that Iwata said Nitneod would never do. At least this way they are up front abut it.
And since we've already had a game like this on 3DS and another on Wii U shouldn't this have been on both w/ maybe cross save capability? Nintneod has already proven they can do Day 1 cross buy w/ Mario vs Donkey Kong Tipping Stars. I'm not saying every game needs to be on both systems - most retail games don't - but a game like this just seems like it should be.
I don't know what NX is going to be, but Nitnedo really needs to just make 1 set of games for both home and handheld, at least the cheap download only variety.
Umm won't people confuse it with Fallblox!?
Cool! I downloaded it & was disappointed at the lack of ability to try out more of the game but I know for sure I'll buy it when I can afford it. Too bad I can't play it on my New 3DS XL as I don't have it hooked up to a NNID. I'll just have to play it on my old 3DS XL.
"There will be no North American release even though we have already prepared for it like the new 3DS. Please understand." - What Iwata will most likely say IF he doesn't pretend it doesn't exist
For anybody who doesn't understand what's going on with this game's pricing - THIS IS NOT A "FREE-TO-PLAY" GAME! This is a game that costs £8.99. Only instead of buying it on the eShop page, you buy it from an in-game menu.
And you have the option to pay less to get less of the game.
@ShanaUnite The good news is you've not missed anything! Both are available right now!
I'll be downloading this right away.
'Also new, in Fullblox you can pull and push up to three squares compared to previous games' two squares of movement'
What? You could always move them three squares...
I'm getting it! These games are hella challenging.
Stretchmo is now available on the North American 3DS eshop. Is this the same game with a different name?
http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20150514005190/en/Nintendo-News-Stretchmo-Newest-Game-Pushmo-Series#.VVTH1LlVhHw
@beserker99 Yeah, it is.
I think this should have just had a demo and been a full game instead of the approach they're taking here. I loved the original Pullblox but never got Fallblox or Pullblox World. Also, Mallo for Smash!
@Inkling that's pretty much what it is already. Except you can instead buy just some parts of the game separately directly from the demo.
I think it's pretty convenient. Also probably means more people will try it.
The full game costs 10 dollars if you buy it all at once, which is a regular price for the series.
@linforcer Yeah, i think the title makes more sense as Strechmo
Also Thanks
@RupeeClock Awesome,I really should pay more attention😁
Great name. I got confused with FALLblox when I saw this game. Nintendo, once again with the confusing names for their consoles AND games
@The__Goomba
It's only 7 levels to start with, but gives a good taste of how the puzzles will work.
downloaded the game after i got back from school. i feel happy that a new pullblox game has release out of the blue. but i don't like how they have to let you pay £9 for 4 DlC. why don't they release it as a paid game will all the DLC with it but it is nice to let people have a taste of what in store in the game.i hope i will get a £15 eshop card(or more) to buy the DLC(and other game[like pullblox world in case i finish the DLC on fullblox] so i can create level and not get bored.)i did spend all of my stars for LOZ. LA DX and Art Academy [and i didn't have enough star even before i spend it on other games])
now if only nintendo release a pullblox and fallblox together as a physical copies so people who don't have internet(i highly doubted that they will be a lot of people) or want to play it so they won't have to worry about their save data can buy it. same with pullblox world for the wii u.
at least it is not a microtransactions 3ds game like pokemon shuffle and pokemon rumble world. (i really hate that how i have to waste money for some gem/poke diamond(it is optional of course unless you want to complete the game really quickly) in pokemon shuffle/pokemon rumble world)
I downloaded the whole package. It was 10 Euro, wich doesn't make it much more expensive then previous iterations. So I can live with that.
Previous games where fun (though there are still a lot of pretty hard puzzles I have yet to finish). I not really needed another one, but it does have a new hook (stretching) and enemies. Ah well, downloaded it anyway.
So if I buy retro expo will I automatically unlock level creator?
@Tate24
Buying any of the packs will unlock level editor. I definitely recommend buying the bundle of all four, though, because it's cheaper than getting each one separately.
@DreamOn literally the worst name for this game.
