$20/year is like an impulse buy. I mean I know people who complain about pokémon bank's $5/year but this gets you a lot more. So glad it's not $60/year like PS4/XBone
i feel like rather than spending (idk the price so just guessing) $50 for the dock and then another $80 on a pair of Joy-Con it'd be better to just get a second sWiitch
this sounds great, 4 hours was way too long to play the same two maps, even if i liked both maps. i feel like this'll extend my play sessions as once i start getting bored with the maps there'll always be two new ones coming shortly
i haven't played tabletop mode at all except on my friend's since we were at a bar. i mostly play mine docked unless someone wants the tv (pretty much like wii u). i think it's more comfortable playing on the tv but i do like the immersion of portable esp. with headphones
lame distro, it's IVs are gonna suck so all this does is save u from having to find its HA and give it egg moves. and i guess u get it in a cherish ball? so u can level it to 100 and give it bottle caps (waste of bottle caps IMO) or use it to breed one with good IVs and then raise it to lvl 50 (still a waste of time since Baconroc sucks with its low speed). free life orb i guess? ugh why do the U.S. events always suck.
that's a lot bigger file size than i thought but im super excited for this. i love basketball but as far as videogames i only enjoy them when they're over the top and silly. and $20 is a fantastic price. day 1
@Alikan frugal people already had/have options, the original 2DS is about half the cost while the immensely more pocketable n3DS is only $20 more. If they had gotten the price to $130 it would make a lot more sense in my mind.
I'm sick of looking at pixels. The Switch is gorgeous and the only games I'll even consider buying are main series Pokémon titles ie Stars or DPP remakes (assuming Stars isn't that remake). Or possibly tiny eShop games I haven't gotten around to purchasing such as the Box Boy sequels. Nintendo should be putting all their eggs into the Switch basket if they want to see consumer interest remain piqued
I ordered the 200 gb sandisk for ~$62 (actually ordered before the switch came out but i didnt get it until several days later). not much use to me so far since i have BotW physical and the only digital games i have on it are snipperclips and the spla2n demo. pretty good bargain but i was shocked how much (183 gb) was actually available
this stuff is pretty cool for those who are into it and i doubt this is really a draw for the cross-section of people who both want to play it and are willing to buy nintendo hardware to go this route instead of rather than in addition to buying it.
hopefully this version drops in price soon as i already got the wii u version when it dropped to $20. not worth full price but it's fun and i'd maybe drop $30 on it since it has co-op
@Late are u in North America? i still may have some extra codes and i could give u one. not home atm but reply to this and i'll look around for it later when i get home
i've seen wario land: shake it at my local used dvd store for about half the price so i'll either get that or wait for a sale (for gamepad functionality)
4 GB sounds good, the Switch is not a standard console like the PSBone, the biggest difference obviously being its portability. More RAM would lead to lower battery life, all other things being equal. This is not a concern for a system that's always plugged in. I'll take battery life over power, that power won't be much use if the system is off.
Would be a shame if it doesn't have some kinda SD card that's easy to access since the first thing I wanna do is slap the biggest one I can find inside it. Imagine if we needed to be in range of the dock station to access any downloaded games... would be pretty weak as that would mean basically being forced into buying physical copies and also carrying them around at all times. I'd much rather go all digital this time around. I'm sure we'll have a user-replacable SD and a touch screen... right guys?
Single screen is fine, having two screens was necessary back when the touch screens being used were of lower quality but that doesn't seem to be a factor anymore. That said, this thing better have touch altho at the same time what do you do when it's docked?
If they really want to put a main series Pokémon game on this thing (as some rumors have said), it better have touchscreen. Can't imagine going back to having to sort mons with buttons.
y'all only getting one per visit? that's weak, i've gotten like 6 from each distro this year i even tell em i have X and Omega Ruby and the rest are for my friends (which they are, im not tryna sell em or anything)
so glad i have a gamestop right in between work & home. will be grabbing as many as they'll let me take and if my friends don't want em i'll be able to give em away
@RupeeClock for whatever reason today is the first day it's been made available in the US
ok well I'm home now and found 3 codes and @Venester and @TheBatman were first so no more requests unless @Tsurii doesn't get back to me in the next day or two
@Tsurii if you're in North America, I believe I still have some Arceus codes which should work as they don't expire til (iirc) the end of November or something. Not at home right now so can't check til later. Lemme know if ur interested. I should have a few if anyone else needs a code.
@edhe they can still be EV trained at level 100 (tho I believe you have to reset for the EVs to be added to its stats). Also all Mythical pokémon will have at least three stats with perfect (31) IVs so resetting isn't so bad. Furthermore Sun & Moon are gonna have something called IV training which will allow you to increase those imperfect IVs, so basically all you need to do is reset it until you get the desired Nature and you'll be able to eventually get one that's perfect.
I've made this point a few times in the past, I feel a launch-window Animal Crossing makes the most sense, it's been a few years since the last -real- entry and we haven't gotten a main series game in HD at all. Launching with the system would be ideal since it's a popular title and also one that can be played every day while waiting for other games to release.
I read this as 'We're excited we can release complete garbage in a timeframe where there won't be so many great games yet able to compete for attention so consumers have no choice but to buy it'
