Not surprising and it'll probably make money but this doesn't really interest me. Might give it a try depending on the fixed price (and I'll never spend a dime on IAP), but this is a genre where it's fun for about a few minutes and then I never wanna play it again. I was really hoping Nintendo would do something cooler with these when they announced they were making mobile games but this is just a me-too instead of innovation. Not a great look.
For those calling for N to release this on the 3DS, I'd venture a guess that the reason we don't see this or any other DS games on the 3DS would be because the system can run the game natively, but can't emulate it which means you lose access to the 3DS home menu. Same reason GBA games were only released under the ambassador program.
I plan on getting the NX at launch, but the 3DS version seems like it'll be the way to go after watching both versions in action (I'm assuming here that the NX version will be similar to the PS4's). Really neat that you get the 3D and 2D modes simultaneously so you can kind of swing the camera around while keeping the overall perspective grounded by looking at the bottom screen. Not to mention I imagine it should cost less which is always nice.
Didn't know Armikrog was coming to Wii U, I wasn't gonna pick it up for (I think?) $25 on PC but for $9? hell yeah. Just unfortunate it won't be available until next week...
For the first time I'm leaning towards getting both versions (I'll main in Moon & play catch up at work in Sun version), lots of benefits to this, I get all the version exclusives and I can trade with myself which makes leveling up competitive Pokémon faster plus potentially I get more bottle caps.
might as well crying jordan me for spending $200 on the pokémon n3DS bundle when they're selling practically the same thing for $50 less.... very happy about finally getting lego city undercover at a good price and I'll probably also pick up Luigi's Mansion. I already have New Leaf, Nintendo Land and Wind Waker HD and the rest of the games don't interest me.
Adding the gen vii pokémon would just confuse and anger the people, many of whom let's face it are genwunners, who are playing bc of nostalgia. Throw a yungoos (sp?) in there and it may be kind of a turn off.
I picked only 4 (could have trimmed it down to 3) and didn't even include Zelda since we already know it's a launch title.
The games I picked and their reasoning are as follows:
NX Fit (this is the expendable one, just seems like something N likes to put on their consoles tho I've never played it)
3D Mario Platformer: preferably a remake of Sunshine since it's (correct me if I'm wrong) the only Mario platformer we can't play on Wii U .. and I've never played much of it
Animal Crossing: THIS ONE IS KEY, perfect game to have in that launch window, it gives you a reason to turn your system on every day after all the other games have been beaten. And we NEED an HD home console version of this after getting teased with Mario Kart DLC and amiibo Festival.
F-Zero: it's about damn time and we don't have to hear whining about no/crummy Battle Mode. Could be the game that really showcases the power of the NX as well as the other games are a little more cartoony/slower paced. Also checks off that needed multiplayer vs. box.
This gives the system plenty of variety and fun and I think these are some of the strongest series that we haven't seen in a while (we just got Kirby, Splatoon, Kart and many more recently)
I just picked up my save file on Paper Mario last week where I was ~ halfway thru the game and just managed to beat it Monday evening so this is pretty great timing for me
Looks nice and I was excited at first but after seeing some of the actual gameplay it seems kinda boring. So many other games, so little time so I'll be giving this one a miss.
game is great, i got it in the nindie bundle and have only played a little bit and only in multiplayer so maybe ill check out some of the solo stuff when i get home tonight
I tried the demo and really wanted to like it especially after watching and enjoying some of the anime but the battles just felt hectic and random. Pokémon 4 lyf
Look, I get that they like to have Psychic in their legendaries, but Solgaleo REALLY isn't a Fire type? Lunala I'm more ok with being Psychic/Ghost cause it's a really cool typing and I was afraid it might be Dark/Flying which is just ugh.
all caught up on my distributions, reset my yveltal yesterday so now its on to finishing breeding my shellder. then i can EV train and level up 11 pokémons to add to my battle boxes and have nothing to do until the manaphy event. thank goodness for those enigma berries, it's gotten me back into breeding
@SanderEvers i dont think there's much of an established pattern as firered and leafgreen came before emerald whereas heartgold and soulsilver were after platinum. then the fifth gen completely skipped any remakes while the sixth gen skipped the third 'Z' version
I'm kinda cool on the water starter so far, but the fire and grass ones are just fantastic, I don't know if I can choose between them. And as far as the legendaries I really prefer Solgaleo but I may still get Moon version (I'm also considering getting BOTH versions for the first time ever so this may push me over the top)
Here's my counterpoint: Sure these ideas are great and are fun and all and there's definitely a community there but it's not the type of community that's willing to spend a lot of money and it's not a community that can get Nintendo the profit margins it wants/needs to make. Better to let the small players fight over the scraps as Nintendo makes higher quality products that are dependable, fun and cheap enough to produce that they can make a good profit while still selling for less than other home consoles. I don't mind paying what some consider high prices on retro games, Nintendo's problem is that there's no unity with their hardware so they essentially double dip on anyone who wants to play, say Super Mario Kart at home on their TV and on the go on their handheld. We should be able to buy a digital game once and have it tied to our account where it can be redownloaded anywhere said game is available. This is fairly common sense, it's like if I bought an album on iTunes on my Mac then had to rebuy that album to listen on my iPad. It's actually kind of embarrassing we have to go through this kind of thing in 2016.
resetting mine at work rn. should be worth noting that u just need to get the code by the 24th and the code will work until the end of August (tho the sooner the better if ur looking to keep up with all the distributions)
so i bought the pokémon n3DS which came with red & blue and I still spent the extra $10 on yellow. i've played thru blue from getting the cart when it came out (still have it!) and wanted that pikachu following me. still slowly making my way thru the game rn I'm almost to Fuchsia.
This could be great for bringing ppl back to their consoles. Animal Crossing is for everyone and everyone will now be able to play a probably watered down version which will hopefully draw them to the NX. It's all about getting that sales volume up. I just hope the app itself has more staying power than Miitomo which got boring real fast.
well this is great news my brother got me x for my bday and i didnt wanna have to plunk down $40 on the 3DS version or some ridiculous amount on a used copy.
i hate having to go get a code but at least it's not like with hoopa where we had to actually bring our systems into mcdonalds in order to get it. guess ill have to make a trip to gs sunday morning ¯(ツ)/¯
once again less popular pick was the winner. i made it all the way to patrick champion but the splatfest ended before i thought it would so i couldnt get any higher. also spongebob teams really were garbage taken as a whole, so many comfortable victories that day
classic controller support makes this a little more tempting since id be able to do 4 player at home (i have two classics and only one pro controller). the world size part is still what holds me back tho :3
