Nintendo Download: 11th May (North America)

Firs... never mind. I think this is the first week in NA that the WiiU doesn't have a release post Switch. Surprised it took this long really.

$30 is a bit steep but I'd like to dig into minecraft again. Had it on iPad and the little one likes it. I'm not a fan of touch screen gaming so....bring it on!

Can't own Minecraft for the 10th time can I? We need a transfer from the Wii U to the Switch. I would pay 10$ for a transfer but we own it so many times.

Oh and can we eliminate all users that comment first in these articles? By eliminate I mean permanently! 😉

I thought the site didn't load at first... The lack of Wii U makes it look empty.

I'll cave and buy Minecraft digitally. I was going to hold out for the cartridge but the lower price coupled with the small install size have changed my mind.

Minecraft for me! This will be the first time I have ever played Minecraft and I am looking forward to seeing why it's so loved for myself.

Let's not forget that the version of Minecraft for Switch will have significantly bigger worlds than the Wii U, it's a nice compromise between what the 360/PS3/Wii U could do and what the PS4/Xbone can do.

Such a slow week.... Maybe I will finally download Master Blaster Zero on Switch now that the DLC is coming....

Nothing for me but that's okay because I still have a ton of games in my 3DS backlog that I haven't even started yet

I feel like I just spent 30 bucks for Minecraft on Wii U. Can't dish that out again.

Grabbing Minecraft as soon as it's up! Zelda has made me crave as much exploration of big, open worlds as possible, and this will do very nicely as a complement to that.

I'll download Garou eventually, but not today.

Garou for me, got usf2 on preorder and cant wait to introduce my son to that game- i never played alot of the neo geo games and ive heard garou was one of the best snk fighters- now come on capcom and give me my dream game- Marvel vs Capcom Anthology (and Switch versions of SF3 Alpha and SF4 Arcade while youre at it)!!!!

I read through it, scrolled down, saw there were no comments, posted a joke about being first, poured another cup of coffee, realized this was the first week without a WiiU release and added a sentence to my post.

Nobody mentioning Elliot Quest! That's what I'm all about this week- count me in for that.

They want people to pay $30 again for Minecraft? LOL. I remember getting this game free on the Vita and for like $5 on PS4 because I bought it on PS3 and I think it was only $20 on there. Also, I got the Windows 10 version for free for having the PC version installed on my PC. I hope none of you who bought it on Wii U are foolish enough to buy it again at full price.

Nothing for me this week... More time for Mario Kart!

Well, I was worried that something awesome would come out on the Wii U or 3DS and a part of me would regret getting Harvest Moon 64, and not saving my eshop credit for something like Super Smash Bros or Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn....

But then, this is Nintendo we are talking about. So, looks like I made the right choice after all. What a lame update.....

So sad to see no Wii U section. I guess Darksiders is coming out soon and that's about it. I don't game outside my house much, so a portable Wii U (switch) doesn't appeal to me. Well, I guess it would be a portable Wii U if it had duel screen gaming.

This is a week with few new things. The update can't always be big, & I'm one of those people, who don't have everything I'd like from the Shop, anyway.

Still, the NS is a new system, & I'd think Nintendo would, to some degree, wanna blow the trumpets on all fronts: physical, & digital.

Forty first

I'll probably pick up Minecraft. I played quite a bit of it on PC back in 2010 or so, and I know there have been many changes since then. Not that I'm itching for something to play. I'm still upgrading equipment and seed hunting in BOTW, some MK8 thrown in occasionally, and I'm having a lot of fun with NBA Playgrounds (looking forward to a much needed patch though).

I think that I will wait for Elliot Quest to come down in price before I pick it up.

Elliot Quest and Garou are both excellent purchases. Though I have Garou on PSTV with online play, and Elliot Quest on Wii U.

I've surprisingly managed to skip the entire Minecraft craze and haven't had the urge to play it really. I might get it to see what the fuss is about.

Nintendo isn't exactly filling me with confidence that they've learned from their mistakes. The eshop sales are still crap, the Virtual console is in pseudo-permanent stasis, and some of their games are actually pricier than they are on PS4/XB1!

@AJ81 Most hype since it's the latest 'Fatal Fury' (not sharing much of Fatal Fury though) but it's not one of the best, at all. You have to wait for the best (KOF 96, FF3, RBFF), though King of Fighters '98 is the most solid out there and King of Fighters '94 the toughest (though at level 2 is playable by anyone).

Oh boiiiii minecraft. Now I just need to find a Switch somewhere...

Which would you rather have? A week with few, but quality releases. Or a week with many releases but most of them are shovelware/Unity asset flipped/RCMADIAX games?

On the fence for Minecraft. I own it almost every other device I own (PC, PS3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, Android, and I think my toaster has a port...) and I've played the hell out of it over the years. Haven't played it much since MS took it over, not a fan if the new Realms, or whatever they call it, but I feel like the hybrid nature would be enough to draw me back in. Finally get the home / on the go experience that the PS4/ Vita combo couldn't deliver...

Never owned or played minecraft before. Now looks like a good time to start.

@AlwaysGreener No. Other platforms have offered discounts if you bought it previously. It's bad for us all if people let corporations get away with this over and over again. It happened with Lego City Undercover, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and now Minecraft.

@Spoony_Tech - No harm done. It drives me crazy too, and I don't even know why. Maybe the false sense of accomplishment. Maybe I'm just old. It seems like there are only a few members here who do it, which is drastically better than most communities. The real problem is that my joke wasn't particularly good. Perhaps if I had waited until I finished my second coffee, I could have come up with a better joke and had my thoughts fully formed so that I didn't have to edit. But then I wouldn't have been "first". Ha.

@AlwaysGreener - This is what @Crono1973 does. It's a real treat. Check out the comments below the MK8D review. He has... theories. He wants us to stick it to the man for making all these fun games, and he has strong opinions about how you should spend your money.

@Crono1973 It's business, whether you like it or not. If Nintendo doesn't want to do the whole discount thing and not want future Switch customers then that's their own problem. You are entitled not to buy it, but harassing others who want to buy it just isn't right.

What's with the arbitrary 6PM CST download availablity on Switch? I've got the day off and was hoping to play some Minecraft today. Oh well back to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe I suppose.

Having availability at their normal 10AM PT allows for less strain on their servers in the evening as those with online access can queue up their downloads earlier in the day instead of everyone all at once. But Minecraft is only half a gigabyte, so we'll see.

@bimmy-lee I see, but what I don't understand is why he's so bothered on how people spend their money, it's none of his business. If he really wants to "Stick it to the man", then he should just go elsewhere and buy from a competitor that'll actually suit his tastes, but I guess that's just how some people are and you can't change that. So when is Minecraft actually going to be available? I'm in the US and it isn't on the eshop yet. I thought today was the release date.

I don't think it was too terribly long ago, but my memory (and possibly perception of reality) is warped because I'm an old dad with a toddler and infant. I'm a first generation, lifelong Indianapolis Colts fan. The first game I remember watching was the '85 SB, and I was hooked. I did a little "research" in my local paper before the next season, realized there was now a team in my home state, and that was that. Twelve miserable years (with one magical season with Harbaugh in '96/7 mixed in), and then we landed 18.

Don't worry, definitely not a GB fan. I think Favre is one of the most over rated QBs of all time (though I really enjoyed that snow game in Lambeau in the '08 playoffs and the Bounty Game against the Saints a few years later).

So, you follow the Lions, Bears, or Vikings? My Steeds don't have too much history with those teams, so I think we're safe. Because Indiana didn't have a team for so long, many local fans a generation before me follow a NFC North team.

Nothing for us WiiU owners. I hope this doesn't mean the end of the WiiU Eshop. And no, I can't afford a Switch, nor really see anything for it I want that badly yet. (That "Disney Afternoon" NES game compilation being released for every format except any Nintendo systems also doesn't make me hopeful for Switch's "third party support.")

@bimmy-lee Lions so all I have to cling to is Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson the last 35 plus years. Oh and I agree about Farve, his best year was Actually with the Vikings lol followed by his worst year.

@Spoony_Tech - The Lions are my third string team after the Browns, and my favorite NFC team. I've always thought Herman Moore was severely underrated. You've had some tough seasons. At least you got to watch the greatest RB of all time, as brief as his career ended up being; as well as one of the great WRs. That catch was a TD, I don't care what the rules say.

If you search "blue doom crew Colts" on YT, you'll see some fan videos my buddy and I made when we lived in Portland years ago. I'm the bald guy with a beard. Our videos all have a week in the title (like, "Week 12 Rewind). We made the "Colts Krunk" song together as well. My favorites are the Cowboys game (which got a special metal cover of our song, some language in that one) and my friend's get well soon/tribute to Peyton, 18 Dreams. I think he and I have all the views. Whacky football fans.

I've heard him quote Artest in the locker room after the incident before. It's truly mind boggling and a glimpse into Artest's lack of perspective/lack of self awareness/madness, "Do you think we're going to get in trouble?" Incredible.

The sad part about it all to Pacers fans is that we really did believe we had a title contender, and it all went up in smoke with 15 seconds left in a game that was in the bag. Thanks for sharing!

@Spoony_Tech - Not sure how I failed to mention this up to this point, but my hometown was the home of the Pistons from 1941-1957. The Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons. I've been searching for memorabilia for many years, but it's quite rare and pricey.

Hello friends. I drug you back here just to say that I watched the Lions last night on MNF, and I think their uni tweaks are exquisite. It looks like they changed their blue a shade or two, and they dropped all the black outlining they added a few years ago. So sleek and clean. Not a fan of the lettering on the sleeves, but nothing is perfect. Hope you enjoyed the game, they looked fantastic.

@bimmy-lee This is the Lions after all and I don't want to get my hopes up but there is a lot I like about what they're doing!

@Spoony_Tech - Stafford was unreal. Can't remember seeing him control the LOS like that. Maybe "Kershaw" will become the new "Omaha". The D was great too, huge improvement over last year. That's all I'll say as I honestly don't want to jinx them.
