Re: "One Of The Slowest Modern LCDs I've Ever Seen" - Digital Foundry's John Linneman On Switch 2's Display

@Noelemahc
Doubt they've been paid for it. I wouldn't be surprised though if they got quite butthurt when they got all the backlash for the wrong statements they made about the Switch 2 before facts came on the table. When they judged there was no way the games has DLSS, we found out they did have did. They claimed Yakuza was a lower resolution, yet that wasn't the case. They downplayed the graphical capacities of Street Fighter when compared to the Xbox series S version. They've clinged unto the narrative (or rather been very stubborn with) that it only has the graphical power of a base PS4, yet they praised the steam deck back in time for being close to Xbox series S (you know, the one that people complained couldn't play cyberpunk decently), yet developers contradict them by stating Switch 2 is indeed more comparable to Xbox series S. There's probably more that I've forgotten.
It's no wonder people got tired of them and lashed out on them since it seemed like they had an agenda, but as said earlier, they probably got struck on their pride, and that can make you double down on on your statements or "attack" from another angle.

More on topic: I don't see the problem with the screen, and I got very good eyes. Sure, it can be better, but the price for the console can also be higher. The question is if it's acceptable and gets its job done, and I would say yes! I don't know how they've measured the screen and how correct it is, but there's a difference between what the numbers say and what you actually experience while playing. And honestly, 99% of people would never have any complaints or noticed anything if someone on the internetexpert hadn't said "well ackchyually..."

@GameOtaku

From IGN's interview with Ryota Niitsuma and Kazuhisa Wada:

โ€œSo first Iโ€™d like to mention that since the basic concept of the Persona 3 remake was to remake the Persona 3, we donโ€™t have the FES and Portable contents included,โ€ Niitsuma said. โ€œWe wanted to really genuinely work on recreating the Persona 3 experience.โ€

Re: Talking Point: Should Link Have Voice Acting In The Next Zelda Game?

danemord

Absolutely! generally don't make sense outside of fully customizeable like in many western RPGs.

I still remember how one of the only things i really disliked in Age of Calamity was how Link was so silent beside some occasional grunts while the other characters talked properly.... it was so awkward. You can make him stoic but have short phrases

Re: Soapbox: If You Thought Last Year Was "Sad" For Switch, 2023 Might Be Hard To Handle

danemord

It's just that news sites like "doomsday prophesies" (every year they predict Switch dieing), and some individuals are very picky with what they're playing. I believe that they're a minority, but the internet tends to highlight the ones who yell the loudest (after all, people are interested in negative, juicy news)

I have a very broad taste in video games as long as it's quality games, and I got to play tons of games this year with some extra in the backlog. Sure, if you only play Fifa or Mario games you likely were disappointed, but I struggle to see how it objectively has been a bad year for Nintendo.

Re: Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Asks Fans To "Boycott" Third Game After PlatinumGames Wage Fallout

danemord

That's waaay too low. I'm better off as a "mere security guard", and someone who sells her iconic voice to millions should expect more.

On the other hand, I can't help but cringe at her comment about another person not having the right to play Bayonetta. As long as it's their IP they have the right to do whatever they want to with their game, even letting Bayonetta get voiced by a Chihuahua if that's what they want. That part just sounds like a diva
