Today sees the introduction of another sale across the Nintendo eShop, with the Japanese gaming giant discounting some of the more 'Weird and Wonderful' games available on Switch.
We've got all the games included listed below, as well as links to stores for your region so that you can check all prices; interestingly, a trailer has appeared for the sale in both Europe (above) and North America, but only the European stores have the sale live at the moment. We'd recommend that our friends in North America keep an eye out throughout the day; the very same deals may well be headed your way shortly.
So, without further ado, here are the games you can currently pick up for up to 66% off:
- Rain World
- West of Loathing
- Human: Fall Flat
- Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
- Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
- Surgeon Simulator CPR
- Snake Pass
- Slime-san
- Crossing Souls
- Reigns: Kings & Queens
- Crawl
- Wheels of Aurelia
- World of Goo
- Octodad: Dadliest Catch
- The Flame in the Flood: Complete Edition
- Pool Panic
And here are the links for you to check all prices and download your favourites:
UK / Germany / Belgium (NL) / Belgium (FR) / France / Spain / Italy / Netherlands / Austria / Portugal / Russia / Switzerland (DE) / Switzerland (FR) / Switzerland (IT) / South Africa
The sale comes to an end on 6th February, so make sure to grab any games that interest you before that date to secure your money off.
Will you be getting any of the games listed? Want to recommend any highlights to other readers? Share away in the comments.

ooh might get pool panic and west of loathing!
The links are broken in your article, each title links to the one listed beneath it.
Seems like a list flipping death would be on.
Yep, I'm trying Pool Panic too at that price!
The visuals and physics of snake pass are great. I should really go back and complete that game.
Pool Panic is £3.73! Has to be worth a punt at that price surely?
To anyone out there who has played it - do you recommend it?
I've been waiting a long time for a Snake Pass sale, but I use the NA eShop, so I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Was just about to ask if snake pass was any good?
@Kidfunkadelic83
Great fun, very dependent on the technical controls and movement of the snake. It's a game best played to 100% completion, doing your best to find all the collectibles, then doing your hardest to collect them at your peril.
Got both West of Loathing, Slime-San and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime already. Don't think I'm tempted too much by anything else here. Maybe Crawl, but probably not - with a backlog of games here WAY out of hand.
I wish Hamster was one of the publishers that do this kind of promotions some day. I know a few of their games were on sale some time ago (a handful of ACA Neo Geo titles, not the best ones, though), and this week or the next it's going to happen again probably (because now there are three games on sale on Xbox One and this pattern happened the last time already), but I mean a really big selection of titles, and Arcade Archives too.
That would help me get the ones I'm doubtful about.
@RupeeClock May have to give it a go. Just watched a couple of reviews of pool panic aswell and that also looks pretty fun. Didn't think I'd like it but it's doesn't seem like it's all about the pool.
There's a Nicalis sale on too with most games around half price.
I'm at the point where I'm buying games I'm half interested in because the discount is good. I suppose as Nintendo fans we still need to get used to hefty discounts.
@Moroboshi876
What I'm personally hoping for in the future, when they're done developing them is that Hamster do a physical compilation release of ACA titles.
Could be a pack of all Nintendo Arcade titles.
Could be packs of Neo Geo titles by genre or series, with no small number per pack.
@Ooccoo_Jr At that price, you need Pool Panic in your life. I grabbed at full price on release, and still love it. It’s got a ridiculous amount of content.
Octodad for $1.42 on Steam or $7.00 on Switch. Well ,portability isn't that important.
@Kidfunkadelic83 You should definitely give Snake Pass a shot while it's on offer. It took a couple of levels (for me) for the controls to feel right, but once they clicked with me it was a joy to play. I only wish there were more of it to play! I've had my fingers crossed for DLC levels or a sequel.
@RupeeClock and revisiting the nearest checkpoint to save after almost every single one of them. XD
@RupeeClock I'm all for physical releases, but in this case I hope they won't, because I've bought several already. Call me selfish. I hate when they release games physically after months or years, when nobody was expecting them to. It happened with Namco Museum and I got angry.
But realistically I don't think they're going to do it. When it comes to physical releases PS4 is always granted, Switch maybe and Xbox One only if there is a miracle (Xbox One doesn't even have Arcade Archives outside ACA Neo Geo). PS4 has had Hamster titles, even exclusive ones like classic Konami arcade titles, since 2014, and no compilation has been released in physical stores.
@PapaPedro it's added to the watch list. I will g through it tomorrow (payday) and buy everything that's on offer in there. 100% will get snake pass. Looks fun.
@JackEatsSparrows Cheers mate. Saw it in the Direct and thought it looked fun. Downloading it tonight.
@Moroboshi876
The digital first, physical later thing does hurt a lot of people, but these days we're also spoilt for choice on what to play, and backlogs keep growing. So waiting for physicals is a small way for me to deal with such backlogs.
Sega 3D Classics got a physical collection release when they were done with those, it wasn't comprehensive but it was something, and even included extras like the Master System version of Fantasy Zone as a secret.
M2 are currently doing Sega Ages releases for the Switch, keeping up their track record of producing the best versions of Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and arcade favourites. The fact that they added the drop dash to Sonic the Hedgehog alone makes want to pick that up, but I also feel like there will eventually be a physical Sega Ages compilation physical for the Switch.
@Kidfunkadelic83 I really enjoyed Snake Pass but I think for others it was a bit love/hate. It's kind of a 3D platformer with really weird controls, so a lot of the game is just learning how to control a snake instead of a jumpy-man.
@RupeeClock I think they're just too many games already by Hamster. But I can't wait when I want one of them and end up buying it as soon as I can.
About Sega Ages that's my fear. They could do a collection eventually, but honestly, I want to play them now and they're being released pretty slowly. I just can't wait unless there is some guarantee, and there isn't.
Sega 3D Classics Collection was great news back in 2016, and of course I bought it and luckily hadn't bought any of the included games before. But I ended up buying others when almost 2 years after japanese release we didn't get volume 3, which we should have. It was a shame, because there were exclusive games too that never got released digitally.
My son just mentioned wanting Snake Pass a few days ago, we'll see what happens in a few hours when Reggie wakes up.
@klingki Just make a UK profile. I use both US and UK profiles which gives access to both eShops
Be aware that while Rain World is absolutely fantasitc, it's currently broken. The devs have told me on twitter that a patch is on its way but that was weeks ago. It basically freezes and boots you back to the home screen with a message simply saying something along the lines of 'an error was detected and the software was closed'. 3 times it happened to me.
Your West of Loathing link goes to the Human Fall Flat review. Editor Kincl lives to serve! (salutes)
None of those games really interest me.
@Bunkerneath @klingki I'd recommend South African or Norwegian accounts over UK. Those eShops are always cheaper.
@BionicDodo @Bunkerneath I know it’s not that hard to set up accounts from other regions, but I don’t really care to do it. I’d rather just stick with one eShop. I know that limits me somewhat, but I’m fine with it. If Snake Pass goes on sale in the NA shop, I’ll get it. If not, no big deal, I’ll just keep waiting it out. I have an enormous backlog anyway, haha.
A reminder to everyone that you don't need to make a brand new name every time you want access to another country's eshop. All you have to do is log onto your my-Nintendo account online and in the settings, change your country / time zone to the eshop you want. You will be asked to sign back into your eshop again on the switch and you're in!
This works really well for me because I am able to amass all my gold coins on one account. When I buy a Japan import I switch my time zone, claim my gold, then switch back to US account. The gold points will always still be waiting for me when I switch back and forth.
This also works well when I buy a game that has gold points expired in the US like Bomberman. I just Switch my time zone to London, claim my points (because EU has a 2 year window for gold expiration instead of US 1 year claim), then when I am done I just switch back.
You can only use points in the eshop you claimed them in, but at least you still get to claim them and it stays on one account.
Definitely giving Pool Panic a go at that price.
Rain world sounds like my jam, its on my steam list and I haven't gotten round to it but will 100% pick it up on switch.
I doubt NA will follow. NoA hates and despises offering sales here
@Mando44646 They did make an NOA-specific video for YouTube though. I won't take that as 100% confirmation, but I'm holding out hope.
Crawl is utterly fantastic, each game lasts about 30 mins. Can't recommend it enough.
Nice! I'm going to pick up Pool Panic as that's a decent price ^_^
crossing souls and the flame and the flood seem like good deals for that price. gonna think about it, I have some other games I'd rather buy on my list
Why aren't the game available in the morning of the release???
Pool Panic all the way! Waited a long time for a sale like that!
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is a highly recommended co-op game to those that don't have it yet.
Personally, I'm a lil' interested in Pool Party but otherwise most of these games aren't too high on my wishlist.
West of Loathing is absolutely worth the dive! Couldn't recommend it more.
Great article, the links to the individual online shops are much, much appreciated!
@coolaggro yep, just logged in to say West Of Loathing is a must-buy if you love great writing and humour.
It's an RPG without the bloat, it's a point-and-click without the frustration. Just sink your teeth in and enjoy.
@Mando44646
Check the eShop, this same sale is live here in the States as well. So much for NoA hating sales. 😛
Time for Rainworld it is then!
I went for Flame in the Flood. Great music, seems pretty enjoyable so far. Small text though. Had to get the Henry Swanson's out.
Human: Fall Flat and Octodad look cool but am pretty sure I'll get frustrated with the weird controlling mechanics of the characters.
