Just last week, Overcooked 2 developer Ghost Town Games and publisher Team17 shared a tease of things to come, leaving us wondering what extra goodies were in store. Now, the mystery has been revealed.
A brand new DLC package for the game called Surf ‘n’ Turf is now available digitally on Nintendo Switch. Players will once again join up with the Onion King on a culinary adventure, but this time on a lovely tropical island, cooking up new recipes, navigating new kitchens, and meeting some adorably colourful characters.
The new DLC serves up 12 brand new kitchens, from the swimming pool to the beach, but having new kitchens means that there are plenty of new obstacles to face. Luckily, you won’t have to face these challenges alone as three additional chefs are also joining the Overcooked 2 roster; Parrot chef and Island chef join the fun in the Surf 'n' Turf package, and Boof is also making a glorious return in the sun.
Key Features:
- New Levels! Surf ‘n’ Turf features 12 new story levels. Explore the island from the pool to the beach, just watch out for waves and…. conga lines?!
- New Chefs! Three news chefs join Overcooked 2. Parrot chef, Island chef and returning chef, Boof
- New Recipes! Blend fruit into refreshing smoothies and BBQ tasty skewers for your hungry islanders
- New Mechanics! Who said washing up had to be dull? Blast your plates clean with the trusty water pistol. Stoke the fires of your BBQ with the bellows but be aware that the hotter the fire, the quicker your food will burn
The Surf 'n' Turf DLC is priced at £4.49 / €4.99 / $5.99, available to download as we speak. Team17 also revealed recently that a 'New Game+' mode would be coming to Overcooked 2, adding a fourth star to every level.
Have you played through the game? Will you be treating yourself to the new DLC? Let us know with a comment.

Yay, a new DLC.
But at the same time, More Levels = More Frustation for me.
That World 6 is still hard for me to get at least 1 Star.
How about they fix the glitches first? Am forever still getting stuck in scenery.
Freaking love this game. Bring on the dlc.
This game is 5 bucks too pricey now with DLC 30 bucks? That's not even mentioning the 40 dollar physical version. I thought physical and downloadable were supposed to have price parity? I loved the first one and beat it with the wife and kids. I was excited when I heard of the second one. But at that price point it's just not going to happen.
@whanvee For what it's worth, it is far more refined than the first one. I hear you on the price, but this one has been a much more polished experience and more fun, overall. DLC, of course, is optional, which is better than just raising the price. There is quite a bit of similarity, to the point that if you have this one, you don't really need to go back to one. So, price is an issue.
On the physical thing, that's a whole separate issue not unique to this game.
You should definitely give it a chance once it hits the bargain bin or goes on sale if you enjoyed the first one.
This DLC is a lot tougher than the main game, but I'm having an absolute blast. Still hoping for that endless mode with all recipes mixed, though.
