@MirrorFate2 So, I never played any of the games after SMB2, but I seem to recall a common complaint about the later games is that they don't use real physics anymore, or the physics are janky in some way? What is the primary complaint about those games?
That's fine, I just think they prioritized the wrong things, and they should have added as much graphical enhancement as they could without sacrificing the 60 FPS framerate of the original game.
I've basically been forced to go "fully digital" for PC games. It's pretty much the only option for PC these days, but it's palatable because games are usually cheaper and so far, you can redownload all your games, even if they have taken the game off the market for some reason.
I said 3. I wasn't really interested in most of the stuff. The stuff I am interested in was already revealed previously (Unicorn Overlord, Another Crab's Treasure, Penny's Big Breakaway).
I haven't played a Monkey Ball game since 2 for the Gamecube. The reviews I read for the newer games always seem to indicate they aren't as good as the Gamecube games (they don't use real physics anymore, for some reason? I think I read that).
I loved Battlefront back in the day, but I'm not interested in console FPS controls.
The only new reveal that I'm mildly interested in is Endless Ocean.
VERY excited for this game. Looks a lot like Ogre Battle for SNES.
You mentioned the enemy taking over your towns; is there a punishment when that happens, besides just losing the town? Ogre Battle had a reputation system where if a town you had liberated was recaptured, you lost some reputation. Reputation affected recruiting and endings in the game.
I have to say, I wasn't interested in this game when it was originally released on the GBA. I wasn't interested when they revealed the remake. And now, after reading the review of the remake, I have to say: meh.
I'm about 50 hours into the game, but I'm thinking of giving up. The fights have become a slog, and most of the worlds just don't have much to do in them. I love the breeding system, but that goes a lot faster than the rest of the game.
The only thing on the list I'm really interested in is the Ace Attorney trilogy, but I'll probably pass since I have the originals. I am, however, much looking forward to Unicorn Overlord in March.
You'd have to be the biggest Nintendo simp if the next system does not have backwards compatibility and you come up with articles like this to rationalize it for everyone.
@Cyrax77 You can't redownload Wii digital purchases. I can't download my purchases from the Wii and play them on the Switch. And eventually, you won't be able to redownload 3DS games either.
@TheSovryn I am not against buying digital games, per se. My collection of games I've purchased on Steam, for example, is gigantic. There is a big difference between what Steam is and what Nintendo has done, however. With Steam, my games are available on every new computer I buy for as long as Valve stays in business, and the games work or can be made to work on new PC's. With Nintendo, my Virtual Console purchases are gone forever. Sure, I can download all my digital games before the Nintendo shops close, but if my memory cards die, I'm SOL. And the games won't be re-downloadable on the next Nintendo console.

Re: Here Are The Top Ten Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games As Of March 2024
These are just the best-selling first party games, right? Otherwise, I assume Minecraft would be on the list.

@Spider-Kev Virtual Boy owners get screwed again!
Re: Rumour: 'Switch 2' Said To Be Fully Backward Compatible With A Larger, 1080p Screen
If true, the Switch 2 is a day one buy for me.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Endless Ocean: Luminous?
I probably won't buy it right away, but I'm interested and will wait for reviews. I never played the original game.

@Rambler It's a bit like Microsoft.
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want To See From The Next Super Mario Bros. Movie?
No Chris Pratt.
Re: Random: New Pokémon Ad Positions 3DS As 'Retro', And The Internet Disagrees
Can't be retro; the New 2DS LL is still selling a dozen copies per week in Japan.

Re: Anniversary: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Is Now A Decade Old
@Toastmaster I can only think of three off the top of my head: Wave Race 64, Wave Race: Blue Storm, and Hydro Thunder.
Re: Anniversary: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Is Now A Decade Old
@Serpenterror
I don't count DK64 either, I thought you were including Tropical Freeze in your list.
Re: Anniversary: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Is Now A Decade Old
@Serpenterror
Five games; don't forget Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii!
Re: Anniversary: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Is Now A Decade Old
I loved the gameplay of Tropical Freeze, although I hated the "frozen jungle" aesthetic. I hope the next game goes back to the non-frozen jungle look.

Re: Talking Point: Is Knowing A Game's Ending Really That Bad?
It's not the end of the world for me if an ending is spoiled, but I'd rather go in fresh.

Re: Take-Two Has Filed A Trademark Dispute Over Remedy's Awesome New Logo
Screw Rockstar. The only similarity is that they both have the letter R (and Remedy's logo barely even has that).
Re: Poll: How Much Internal Storage Would Be Reasonable For 'Switch 2'?
I don't really care, SD cards are cheap.
Re: Talking Point: What Will The 'Switch 2' Actually Be Called?
Rooting for Super Switch, but it will probably just be something original.

Re: Review: Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince (Switch) - A Near-Royal Return For The Addictive Monster-Catching Spin-Off

Re: Nintendo Direct September 2023: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer
I'm really looking forward to Unicorn Overlord. It looks like it's going to be similar to one of my favorite SNES games, Ogre Battle.
Re: Poll: Final Fantasy IV - Do You Prefer The Original Or The DS Remake?
I like 'em both, but probably prefer the original.
Re: Poll: Which Dormant Nintendo Franchise Would You Most Like To See Return?
I picked Golden Sun, but honestly I'd be happy if any of these came back.
Re: Poll: Which Dormant Nintendo Franchise Would You Most Like To See Return?
@jump I agree. I would only say Mother if they mean it returns by releasing an official Mother 3 English translation.
Re: Talking Point: How Does Switch's Year 7 Compare To Previous Nintendo Consoles?
@johnedwin The N64 wasn't a commercial failure, it just didn't do as well as the Playstation. The Gamecube hurt Nintendo financially, however.
Re: PlayStation Boss Doesn't Think Call Of Duty Appeals To Nintendo's Core Audience
He's right, in my case. FPS games aren't my favorite, and in any case, I'd rather play them on PC with a mouse and keyboard.
Re: UK Charts: Unsurprisingly, Final Fantasy XVI Knocks Zelda: TOTK Down A Peg
@Glrd That doesn't make sense, since the ATB system was used since at least FF IV (I never played III, so I don't know about that one).
