I'm about 50 hours into the game, but I'm thinking of giving up. The fights have become a slog, and most of the worlds just don't have much to do in them. I love the breeding system, but that goes a lot faster than the rest of the game.
The only thing on the list I'm really interested in is the Ace Attorney trilogy, but I'll probably pass since I have the originals. I am, however, much looking forward to Unicorn Overlord in March.
You'd have to be the biggest Nintendo simp if the next system does not have backwards compatibility and you come up with articles like this to rationalize it for everyone.
@Cyrax77 You can't redownload Wii digital purchases. I can't download my purchases from the Wii and play them on the Switch. And eventually, you won't be able to redownload 3DS games either.
@TheSovryn I am not against buying digital games, per se. My collection of games I've purchased on Steam, for example, is gigantic. There is a big difference between what Steam is and what Nintendo has done, however. With Steam, my games are available on every new computer I buy for as long as Valve stays in business, and the games work or can be made to work on new PC's. With Nintendo, my Virtual Console purchases are gone forever. Sure, I can download all my digital games before the Nintendo shops close, but if my memory cards die, I'm SOL. And the games won't be re-downloadable on the next Nintendo console.
It has always kind of bothered me how more developers didn't take advantage of the Gamecube's graphical prowess the way that Factor 5 did with Rogue Leader.
Good for Capcom, but I do find it disappointing that this seems to be outselling Octopath Traveler 2, which I think is superior to any game in the Battle Network series.
@Serialsid But just selling an incredible amount of copies doesn't make something a monopoly. The existence of Call of Duty isn't preventing competitors from trying make their own games in any way.
I don't really care whether Microsoft buys Activision or not, but the whole basis for blocking the sale just seems flimsy to me. They are acting like Call of Duty is like, the ultimate video game that nothing else can compare to. The series sells a lot of copies, but it's not like it's the only first-person shooter out there. Activision doesn't have a monopoly on first-person shooters. It seems like if Sony is worried about Microsoft making the series Xbox-exclusive, it would behoove them to COMPETE with their own first-person shooter.
This is probably still my favorite Fire Emblem game. It didn't inundate you with busy-work between stages like later games in the series, and I think the games look better in 2D than 3D. The story had some cool parts that set it apart, too, like Jaffar defecting to the good guys and protecting Nino.
They were all pretty boring, honestly. I thought I would like Fire Emblem Engage's emphasis on combat over story, but the story was too lacking even for me. The U. S. debut Fire Emblem game for the GBA is probably still my favorite in the series.
Nintendo is cheap for having a time limit to redeem the gold points in the first place. As long as it's a new copy of the game, and points haven't been doled out for it already, you should be able to get the points.

Re: Talking Point: Is Knowing A Game's Ending Really That Bad?
It's not the end of the world for me if an ending is spoiled, but I'd rather go in fresh.

"triple AAA co-developer production studio"
Wow, that's nine A's!
Re: Take-Two Has Filed A Trademark Dispute Over Remedy's Awesome New Logo
Screw Rockstar. The only similarity is that they both have the letter R (and Remedy's logo barely even has that).
Re: Poll: How Much Internal Storage Would Be Reasonable For 'Switch 2'?
I don't really care, SD cards are cheap.
Re: Talking Point: What Will The 'Switch 2' Actually Be Called?
Rooting for Super Switch, but it will probably just be something original.
Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For January And February 2024

Re: Review: Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince (Switch) - A Near-Royal Return For The Addictive Monster-Catching Spin-Off
Looks good, and I loved the original DQM for GBC. I'll add it to my wish list. 2023...what a great year for video games!

Re: Talking Point: Along With Joy-Con Drift, What Does Nintendo Have To 'Fix' With 'Switch 2'?
Needs backwards compatibility the most.
Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. Wonder - The Best 2D Mario Since The Super NES

I like 'em both, but probably prefer the original.
Re: Poll: Which Dormant Nintendo Franchise Would You Most Like To See Return?
I picked Golden Sun, but honestly I'd be happy if any of these came back.
Re: Poll: Which Dormant Nintendo Franchise Would You Most Like To See Return?
@jump I agree. I would only say Mother if they mean it returns by releasing an official Mother 3 English translation.
Re: Talking Point: How Does Switch's Year 7 Compare To Previous Nintendo Consoles?
@johnedwin The N64 wasn't a commercial failure, it just didn't do as well as the Playstation. The Gamecube hurt Nintendo financially, however.
Re: PlayStation Boss Doesn't Think Call Of Duty Appeals To Nintendo's Core Audience
He's right, in my case. FPS games aren't my favorite, and in any case, I'd rather play them on PC with a mouse and keyboard.
Re: UK Charts: Unsurprisingly, Final Fantasy XVI Knocks Zelda: TOTK Down A Peg
@Glrd That doesn't make sense, since the ATB system was used since at least FF IV (I never played III, so I don't know about that one).

I'll sort of be experiencing these games for the first time. I didn't get started with the series until Advance Wars: Dual Strike for the DS.
