I cannot merge my accounts since they obviously have to be in the same country. I have a UK in the Wii U because there was not a local e-shop then. Now I have a Switch account in my country and there is no way to change the country in the Wii U account.
You can now use a script called emudeck and downloads and configures all emulators automatically. Everything I tried till the PS2 generation worked. I haven't tried switch games, but it can handle most of them.
As for games you are stuck with the proton Linux emulator thing but most games I tried played perfectly. You do not have access in Game Pass or X-Box store though. I have not tried to install Windows yet but I may try it when Windows 11 will be officially supported (only Windows 10 are supported till now). As for the ergonomics Steam Deck is one of the most comfortable handhelds I have ever played why more comfortable that the Switch.
You can charge the Steam Deck while you connect it to your TV though if the type-c hub you have supports charging. I have tried it and it works. The Deck will have an official dock sometime in the future.
@BlackenedHalo Insane how they will look in portable mode. I guess like a pixelated mess like the ones in XC2.
On topic there are many games I would like to return. Outrun is surely one of them even without the Ferrari cars. A new Phantasy Star rpg of Daytona would also be cool.
What I really want though are Master System, Game Gear, Saturn and Dreamcast collections of classic games. Most of those games are not easily accessible in modern hardware. I know that those consoles are not as popular as the Mega Drive, but they still have an audience.
The best would be SEGA arcade ports but this is highly unlikely...
@samuelvictor I am beyond hyped for the collection, in fact I already preordered the PS4 version. But I would love if they added other games like Sonic 3D or the 8-bit entries, even as paid DLC.
I don't want to gloat about this but since it is published by Nintendo in the west it may be exclusive? It was never stated to the best of my knowledge.
My biggest game was Atelier Ryza 2 for 44 hours. After than Mario 64 with 14 and Famicom Detective Club with 6. Biggest month was February obviously since Ryza 2 was released in that month. After the 44 hours of Ryza 2 I bought it also on PS4 where I got the platinum trophy and when I finally got my PS5 I played it there again. I did not play much of my Switch this year. This was because of me getting a PS5 and resident evil village which I played more than Ryza actually.
To be honest I found the Mystery trilogy ... dull. I would prefer Ryza 3 or a Dusk sequel where the fate of the world was left vague. I still look forward to the new game anyway.
Unless I missed something in the official page they don't offer to buy the rom as digital download? I want to play this game but I surely don't want to pay shipping, import and custom fees.
@WallyWest Yes. The PS4 port is basically the PSP version on an emulator and Sony funded and owns it. Konami must port the game themselves from the PS1 version or fund someone to do it.
@CharlieGirl No Sony just have the rights for the latest PS4 port. They funded it and it uses the in house created PSP emulator (strange that they didn't release any other games on this emulator though). This version will obviously never be released elsewhere. Konami have to port the game them themselves it they want to release it elsewhere.
I wrote them to re-release their arcade, master system, game gear, saturn and dreamcast games in modern consoles. Not that they will do it. Hopefully they will see what their old fans really want.
I would love a new Outrun, even without licensed cars.
In the last couple of months I played the Sky trilogy, watched the Crossbell games in YouTube and played the four Cold Steel games. I really think that many events in Cold Steel 4 will make no sense if you are not familiar with the characters and their backstories since they are not summarised or explained in it. This game is the epitome of world and character building in the course of many years and I love it for many reasons but it is not an easy recommendation. The Switch version makes sense in Japan since many played the previous games on the PSP and the Vita that were highly popular there.
After the Zero game and the Remake Perfect Dark was more of a MS game anyway. In any case it makes you wonder what Rare is doing those days. I guess they made the new Battletoads and they develop an action game?
I never expected to see two Greek retailers in an article of this kind. Both sell online and but also have actual shops in Athens. They are some of the oldest videogame retailers in Greece and have used them a lot of times.
There is no way Rare Replay in its current state will be released in Switch or PC. It has in the disk the in house developed xbox 360 emulator included and microsoft doesn't want it out in the hacking scene.
They have to swap the xbox games with other Rare made Nintendo games or scrap them to release Rare Replay on Switch.
@RupeeClock To be more precise it was funded by Sony and uses the in-house PSP emulator. There is no way this game will come to another platform. Now if Konami ports a version themselves for PC and Switch...
I would like a Vol.2 in the Collection with GBA/DS games though.
TBH most of its "best" games have been re-released in more "modern" systems (3ds, Wii U VC) and it has not that much of game diversity anyway (no rpg games etc.). Its controller is well horrible with small buttons etc. I still have mine but I haven't booted it since Majora's Mask. For some reason it resets itself at random times.
@Moroboshi876 @Zeldafan79 Actually the story with the Rondo/SOTN PS4 collection is more interesting. The port was not only funded by Sony but the games are based in the PSP versions and use the in house developed PSP emulator for PS4! Too bad they never released more PSP ports on PS4.
And they will release a patch on day one or sometime later that renders the full complete game physical copy unpreservable. It surely is better than Spyro but some sort of issue remains nevertheless. Assuming that Switch carts are good quality that don't fail some years down the line.
Anyway the only 3D platforms I have are Mario 64 and various Crash games so I am not an expert on the genre but I really enjoyed this game. I have not finished it yet but it has good graphics, it is charming and has some variety. Since it has retail copies I guess it will be 35-40 Pounds? If however it is in the 20 mark I may get it.
Edit: The preorder price seems to be 35pounds/40euros
To be honest some of the best GameCube games have better versions on more recent hardware like the Resident Evil games, Tales series, Zelda series, Metroid etc.
From this PR I understand that the new Xbox Studios won't make new games for other platforms after the end of their current obligations not that Microsoft won't think to publish more of its back catalogue games on other platforms.
As far as Rare Replay is concerned it has the in house xbox 360 emulator. That's why there is no Windows 10 versions and why a Switch game is unlikely. I would want it of course even though I wouldn't mind the new Killer Instict or Recore.
@gamekill After I saw a Sonic game on Nintendo system I don't care about those things. Exclusives sell the consoles but the more people play a game the better. In older generations people that could not afford more than one console missed a ton of games. I am not the biggest fan of BOTW but a 4K/60 fps One X version would be a sight to behold.
They should update the emulator. Remove the button prompts from the bottom, remove the ugly border, offer widescreen support, the ability to map the buttons, a list option that makes scrolling the games easier... I don't think they will do anything though.
What's the point of this poll anyway? The game is confirmed only for PS4 which is fine for me but has crowdfunding pending and it should be on all platforms anyway. I love R-Type. I really like the Final game too. The title Final 2 is Wii U kind of bad, they should name it something else.
@retro_player_22 This version of Power Rangers (and the Movie version) on the Game Gear are the best games in the franchise and one of the highlights of the system.
I have two unmodded GGs from back in the day. The one has no picture and the other no sound. I really want to get a modded one since I have a handfull of games and the official AC Adaptor...
