Re: Poll: How Many New Games Do You Buy In A Year?

Zuljaras

I just did the math and JUST from the start of the Switch I have 252 physical games and maybe 70 from those are second hand.

So around 22 NEW games per year or around 1-2 games per month.

And that is just for the 8 years of Switch!

Re: Rumour: Silent Hill 2 May Be Coming To Switch 2 As Its Exclusivity Window Ends

Zuljaras

@Segakid Again, the ignore button solves that problem. If there are the same people every time you are going to successfully filter the comment sections for you.

I am hugely in favor of the Ignore button, not for myself (as I like seeing what other people write) but for others that can't handle the repetitive comments for certain topics.

Or you are suggesting policing what people say by adding more stuff to the already created list from the NL staff?

Re: Rumour: Silent Hill 2 May Be Coming To Switch 2 As Its Exclusivity Window Ends

Zuljaras

@JohnnyMind Sure it is not informative at all, but you are getting irritated over nothing.

That is why there is an Ignore button which guarantees that those "obsessed with game key cards" will not bother you anymore.

That is like people complaining about me in Pokemon V/S articles when I post that the game is soulless piece of **** Just hit the ignore button and you will be protected from this information.

Re: Rumour: Silent Hill 2 May Be Coming To Switch 2 As Its Exclusivity Window Ends

Zuljaras

@JohnnyMind We can't dictate what people talk in those articles.

Can you imagine articles that have a warning:
"Only gameplay/story posts allowed!"
I couldn't, well maybe in North Korea

Well as long as it is civil it is fair game By civil I mean we shouldn't offend other people for deciding to buy certain media But that is all.

The physical edition is point of interest of every game so expect people to talk about it or release their "frustrations".

Also, a huge point that most people miss is that those releases that have already been released on other consoles could attract buyers only if there is a true physical form.

There are gamers that bought Silent Hill 2 on PS5 and will ONLY double dip if the publisher invests in a full physical release.

This is an interesting topic for example that should not offend anyone.

Re: Rumour: Silent Hill 2 May Be Coming To Switch 2 As Its Exclusivity Window Ends

Zuljaras

@JohnnyMind It is a matter of demand. If gamers love the idea of key cards, they will sell well and they have nothing to worry about in terms of business.

If not, then it is a bad call.

The best vote is the wallet one. I can't be responsible for someone livelihood if they don't make a product for me.

But I am just one gamer and, in the future, I can wait for extreme discounts to play a certain game. That is still some kind of support, I guess.

Re: Rumour: Silent Hill 2 May Be Coming To Switch 2 As Its Exclusivity Window Ends

Zuljaras

@JohnnyMind Ahh, you mean that half of the people are unhappy about the price of the game, and the other half are unhappy about the physical release? That makes sense and that is why I blame marketing researchers and Nintendo.

I would put 30% blame on publishers and 70% blame on Nintendo. They could've researched and create "installer" cartridges that would not require the high reading speed games need for ... well gameplay. But they decided to create a product NOBODY ever wanted.

And you are right there are MANY people that are vocal about this but that is because most of us are collectors. And I do not know a single collector that want a physical media that does not function. That is like trying to sell a physical book that has only one page and on that page, there is a key that allows you to access your book in a digital file.

At the end gamers will have games on the platform even if they don't want them

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th September)

Zuljaras

The Diablo 2 and 3 craze hit me again
In Diablo 2 I have beaten Hell difficulty with the Sorceress, Paladin, Necromancer, Druid and Barbarian. Now I am working on my Amazon.

In Diablo 3 I got my Crusader and Barbarian to level 70 and I will be starting a Necromancer!

On the side I will play Silent Hill 2 and Skyrim VR!

Happy gaming everyone!!!

Re: Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

Zuljaras

@DynamoDouglas Sure, but how can some companies release normal cartridges and others can't? Well actually they can but don't want to.

And I am yet to see news on layoffs because they did not release a game on the money saving key-card.

Also, if that was true it would have been the case only for indie devs with small budgets. The ones actually doing it are the large multi-million companies.

And earlier we talked about giving the option to gamer, what is stopping them giving us the option to take the extra price markup of 23$ (or whatever it is) in smaller quantities? Well, this is because they don't care.

Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?

Zuljaras

Unfortunately, I can't vote because there are very few games that have proper physical releases therefore, I can't justify a Switch 2 purchase.

And I REALLY want to buy the console, but I do not want to have it just to play Cyberpunk 2077 on it

I have to wait and see if Bandai Namco also cheap out on Elden Ring Tarnished Edition.

I hope they are not sharing official statement on the release or the physical format because they are figuring out how to do it properly. One can dream right?

Re: Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

Zuljaras

@Ogbert Yes, I stand by that. IF publishers have the choice, they should not do it.

Still, I have very little faith in Ubisoft, and I do not trust this excuse because Outlaws sold poorly on all platform if I am not mistaken. They do not want to invest in something that will not sell well, one more time

My problem is that you say people should have a choice when the publishers take away one of the options purely from greed standpoint because they still print plastic but, in this case, it is a plastic licence. If you are going to make plastic stuff, at least make it functional.

And I am not in favor of digital in general because on the Switch 1 from 251 games I own only 1 of them is in digital format.

To be fair the blame is 60% Nintendo and 40% publishers.

Re: Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

Zuljaras

@Ogbert Because this option is the reason to NOT strive for regular physical releases. Nintendo is focused on the publishers and not on us.

And I am not forcing this crap on anyone, if people want to buy it ok. I just want to see if "gamers" really want this key-card thing but for now it is not a vocal minority that hate the key-card idea.

Also, to deny what? Spare me the drama, please. The only ones that are denied anything here are the people that want NORMAL physical releases.

Do you really think that the people who like to resell their games are capable to save the key-card idea? Those 2 are mutually exclusive

Have you seen the millions who cry for the option to buy a game key-card? Yeah, I am not seeing them either

Re: Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

Zuljaras

@Doctor-Moo Sure most collectors love to buy game key-cards

Is that why the key-cards are on top of the selling charts? Is that why most comment under key-cards articles and news are extremely positive?

I am sure that game collectors absolutely love to sell plastic DRM licences ...

You are 100% correct the second-hand market for key-cards will be HUGE just like the current second-hand market for real physical releases.

Re: Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

Zuljaras

@SBandy1 Option that encourages publishers to save costs, and pass them to the users, instead of improving the product is not a good choice.

If there is a way to release a game on normal cartridge and there is the cost saving option 95% of the publishers will choose the cost saving game-key card.

That is why it is important for them to lose money on those decisions

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th August)

Zuljaras

This weekend will be a retro weekend!

I will play some of the legendaries like Castlevania Symphony of the Night and Ocarina of Time 3D (I need to invest in OoT for the N64).

I do not have a second gamepad for the SNES to play Mortal Kombat II so it will be just single player And might have some fun in Castlevania Legacy of Darkness!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Re: We've Now Got Our First Look At Elden Ring In Handheld Mode For Switch 2

Zuljaras

@SalvorHardin I love that guy from DF retro!

I really like DF but their perspective on acceptable is bordering on extreme nitpicking for me. Yes HUGE experts, but for me, the average gamer it is NOT a big deal. If you look at ALL of FromSoft games they are "unacceptable" by DF standards!

Still, I watch their content and kudos for them on getting away from IGN.

Re: We've Now Got Our First Look At Elden Ring In Handheld Mode For Switch 2

Zuljaras

I see nothing that can be called "disaster", "unplayable" or "disappointing".

Everyone that played Bloodborne on the PS4 can tell that the framerate is terrible because it goes under 30 occasionally, yet the game is regarded as a masterpiece.

My question is, does the gaming journalism need strong words like that to gain more views/clicks etc?

Because I see many online journalists throw strong words like "Elden Ring on Switch 2 Is a Disaster in Handheld Mode | gamescom 2025" (IGN) for the lolz. Yep the same "professionals" that gave Concord 7/10

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd August)

Zuljaras

This weekend I will have new tries at games I could not beat or get far into

First stop is Lords of the Fallen. I could not continue playing this after I reached the hub area (beating the angel lady boss). I do not know why.

Creaks is really cute indie quest/adventure game.

Resident Evil 3 Nemesis is harder for me than the rest of the RE games. Maybe it is the tank controls. I wish it had the analog controls

Half-Life for the PS2. I really wish to beat yet another version of the Half-Life franchise

Happy gaming everyone!!!
