Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th March)

First of all, happy Women's Day to all the ladies

Now I am left with only 2 Castlevania games not beaten from the Classics collection. Adventure and Belmont's Revenge. so Castlevania The Adventure is not the chopping block this weekend.

Also, I am going to try and get into Monster Hunter with Monster Hunter World. I OWN so many MH games but never spent much time in them.

And for relaxing Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Horn of the Abyss on the Steam Deck!

Happy gaming everyone!!!

I too have fairly large physical Switch library that will last be for a very long time!

The Switch generation is quite amazing even though from the Nintendo only games I only got into the Zelda franchise I have so much to play!

It is truly a Golden generation for me.

Finally, I will play Graveyard Keeper! I have been waiting for so long for a physical edition of this game!

In the meantime, I am starting Castlevania Legacy of Darkness, and I am so happy that there is no time limit tied to the good ending with Cornell!

And on the side some Silent Hill 2

Also finished the design on the Lore, Bestiary and Magic menus in Castletoria!!!

@trymer89 You can go 2 ways in Castlevania. The Classic way also known as the hard way or the RPG/Exploration way.

Even if it is NOT the first CV game, I would suggest to just play Castlevania Symphony of the Night.

You can always start chronologically with Lament of Innocence or Castlevania (NES) as it was the first game, but SotN is art in its purest form with all of its shortcomings that you would not care after finishing it

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th February)

This weekend and the following week I will focus on Castlevania Bloodlines as the next step in my ClassicVania journey! Already on stage 2 Greece with John Morris.

I am also starting Resident Evil 1 Remake as I've only beaten it once with Chris, long time ago!

On the side quick sessions of Resident Evil 2 VR as I am finally in the NEST Lab!!!

Oh and I am actively developing Castletoria! Each day I draw new assets for the game and code little parts Soon I will start improving the gameplay.

Happy gaming everyone!!!

I am not stopping until I beat the Castlevania games I have never finished! Now on the block is Castlevania III Dracula's Curse! One of the hardest CV games to date!

However, my main task is to put more time in improving my game Castletoria! I have spent 2 days drawing and coding the equipment menu! The old one had terrible navigation

Untitled

And for some relaxing if time permits (I doubt that!) Tormented Souls on the PS5 and God of War 2 on the PSVita!

Have a nice gaming weekend!!!

Zuljaras

@B3RTAY I do not know how many of Migami other games have you played.

The 2 most recent Castlevania fan games Lecarde Chronicles and Lecarde Chronicles 2 have the same graphics but the animations here are better.

The art style is almost like a photograph that was edited with pixel art software. I really like it.

Also, his last game was published on the Switch as well, Wallachia: Reign of Dracula. It has identical graphical style as well.

As a huge Castlevania fan myself this will be a banger!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st February)

Zuljaras

@John_Deacon PoR is filled with content to the brim!

We also get Richter as a memory and as a playable character!

And after beating the game you get to hear a new version of "Simon's Theme" in the sound mode! Really cool!

Amazing game!!! Your next stop is probably Order of Ecclesia? Also, one of the very best CV games!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st February)

Zuljaras

After beating Castlevania Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness I am going to seriously put some time in Castlevania 64. I have researched how to get the good ending, and I will put some effort in this journey!

On the side I will play the amazing Guilty Gear Strive and Wolfenstein The Old Blood which is my favorite of the modern Wolfenstein games (The New Order and The New Colossus)

Happy gaming everyone!

@Vyacheslav333 I have Windows on a separate SD card, but I run GOG games on Steam OS. You just have to install them in desktop mode and then add them to Steam as "non-steam games".

It works like a charm! currently the games I have tried and worked from GOG are:

  • Painkiller Black Edition
  • Painkiller Overdose
  • Sanitarium
  • Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete + Horn of the Abyss expansion
  • Heroes of Might and Magic 4 Complete
  • Heroes of Might and Magic 5
  • Disciples 2
  • Clive Barker's Undying
  • Grim Dawn
  • Majesty 1 HD
  • Majesty 2 Gold
  • Aliens vs Predator (2000)

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (25th January)

Zuljaras

@Gs69 If you are looking for value for money the Steam Deck is the answer!

Mine is not OLED but it is still so damn good! I bought the cheapest version and after few months I upgraded the SSD to 512GB on my own. It was damn easy!

I use it to play Steam and GOG games, as well as emulation ofc.

Also, there is a charm in playing retro PC games on that thing! For example, point and click adventure games, Monkey Island series, Sanitarium I even play Starcraft Remastered on it vs AI

If you find the time to play around, you can make everything playable on that thing. Also, there is so much support online for literally everything on the deck.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (25th January)

Zuljaras

This weekend and the following week I will focus mainly on Castlevania Lament of Innocence! I am playing in on the Deck so I can easily take screenshots of my journey

First time playing Dragon's Dogma so that could be fun and Resident Evil 4 Remake on the PS5 because the last time I played it, it was on the PS4, and I did not make a screenshot journey.

Happy gaming everyone!!!

Re: Community: What Are Your Favourite Sidequests On Switch?

Zuljaras

I loved the side quests which Daniela gives to Shanoa in Castlevania Order of Ecclesia. You must go and use a sketchbook to draw certain places that were special to Daniela and were associated with her husband that passed away.

Her memory was failing due to old age, and she wanted to remember those special memories.

It was a really simple task but quite unique to the Castlevania Universe

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (18th January)

@TYRANACLES I need to make inventory of my PS4, PS5 and my retro consoles The Switch is definitely the biggest collection

The Witcher 3 was fantastic! The gameplay was clunky, but the stories told inside were really cool! I definitely now know why it won game of the year in 2015

@wazlon Thank you!

This weekend I will focus on DUSK for the Switch. It is an amazing retro style fast paced shooter with some atmospheric levels

My second focus is Resident Evil 2 Remake in VR. I am in the sewers section and looking forward to making it to the lab ... I hope

And lastly, if time permits, some Blasphemous 2 on the PS5 and Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles

Also, I am REALLY excited that my Switch physical collection will be playable on the Switch 2

Happy gaming everyone!!!

Re: The OG Mega Man Is Getting The 'Hand-Drawn Game Guide' Treatment

@Dr_Corndog I think it will be the other way around I think AI generated things need to have a label just like cigarettes, so you know what you consume.

I do not want to look at a painting and wonder if it is from a human or AI.

Also, more and more artistic outlets online need to give the option to artists to ban AI from using their work to fill the AI databases.
