@AJWolfTill Sure but they feel like medieval Europe than most western games set in that environment
Also, the Resident Evil series, the Castlevania series are also set in the Dracula timeline in Europe. They just love to do European influenced games and they make them good!
Now I am left with only 2 Castlevania games not beaten from the Classics collection. Adventure and Belmont's Revenge. so Castlevania The Adventure is not the chopping block this weekend.
Also, I am going to try and get into Monster Hunter with Monster Hunter World. I OWN so many MH games but never spent much time in them.
And for relaxing Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Horn of the Abyss on the Steam Deck!
I have the regular physical edition, but I wonder what game version is on this cartridge. If it is updated with the latest patches, it might be worth it.
@trymer89 You can go 2 ways in Castlevania. The Classic way also known as the hard way or the RPG/Exploration way.
Even if it is NOT the first CV game, I would suggest to just play Castlevania Symphony of the Night.
You can always start chronologically with Lament of Innocence or Castlevania (NES) as it was the first game, but SotN is art in its purest form with all of its shortcomings that you would not care after finishing it
This weekend and the following week I will focus on Castlevania Bloodlines as the next step in my ClassicVania journey! Already on stage 2 Greece with John Morris.
I am also starting Resident Evil 1 Remake as I've only beaten it once with Chris, long time ago!
On the side quick sessions of Resident Evil 2 VR as I am finally in the NEST Lab!!!
Oh and I am actively developing Castletoria! Each day I draw new assets for the game and code little parts Soon I will start improving the gameplay.
I am not stopping until I beat the Castlevania games I have never finished! Now on the block is Castlevania III Dracula's Curse! One of the hardest CV games to date!
However, my main task is to put more time in improving my game Castletoria! I have spent 2 days drawing and coding the equipment menu! The old one had terrible navigation
And for some relaxing if time permits (I doubt that!) Tormented Souls on the PS5 and God of War 2 on the PSVita!
After beating Castlevania Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness I am going to seriously put some time in Castlevania 64. I have researched how to get the good ending, and I will put some effort in this journey!
On the side I will play the amazing Guilty Gear Strive and Wolfenstein The Old Blood which is my favorite of the modern Wolfenstein games (The New Order and The New Colossus)
Physical is declining but it is not going anywhere
At the very end we will have only "boutique" publishers like LRG, SRG etc. The dedicated physical gamers will still have ways to get physical functioning games.
@Vyacheslav333 I have Windows on a separate SD card, but I run GOG games on Steam OS. You just have to install them in desktop mode and then add them to Steam as "non-steam games".
It works like a charm! currently the games I have tried and worked from GOG are:
Painkiller Black Edition
Painkiller Overdose
Sanitarium
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete + Horn of the Abyss expansion
@Gs69 If you are looking for value for money the Steam Deck is the answer!
Mine is not OLED but it is still so damn good! I bought the cheapest version and after few months I upgraded the SSD to 512GB on my own. It was damn easy!
I use it to play Steam and GOG games, as well as emulation ofc.
Also, there is a charm in playing retro PC games on that thing! For example, point and click adventure games, Monkey Island series, Sanitarium I even play Starcraft Remastered on it vs AI
If you find the time to play around, you can make everything playable on that thing. Also, there is so much support online for literally everything on the deck.
This weekend and the following week I will focus mainly on Castlevania Lament of Innocence! I am playing in on the Deck so I can easily take screenshots of my journey
First time playing Dragon's Dogma so that could be fun and Resident Evil 4 Remake on the PS5 because the last time I played it, it was on the PS4, and I did not make a screenshot journey.
I loved the side quests which Daniela gives to Shanoa in Castlevania Order of Ecclesia. You must go and use a sketchbook to draw certain places that were special to Daniela and were associated with her husband that passed away.
Her memory was failing due to old age, and she wanted to remember those special memories.
It was a really simple task but quite unique to the Castlevania Universe
@CammyUnofficial Diablo 4 is a live service game. All of the actions are made on a blizzard server.
Diablo 2 only requires a login in battle.net from time to time but can be played offline. Still dumb, while D4 requires a constant internet connection.

Re: Elden Ring Coming To Switch 2
Just give me the whole game on the Switch 2 cartridge and I will throw money at the screen until it is delivered to me
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (29th March)
I will try and finally finish Resident Evil 2 VR. I am on the last part, NEST.
Continue with my second playthrough of Resident Evil 4 Remake.
And last, I will try out Metal Slug Tactics!
Have a nice gaming weekend everyone!
Re: Nintendo Has Sneakily Confirmed The Switch 2's Mysterious 'C' Button
C for Castlevania ofc!
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct For March 2025?
After it finished it was 4/10 for me because of Metroid but come to think of it, it is 2/10 now.
Re: Rhythm Heaven Groove Announced For Switch, Launching 2026
I am amazed that people REALLY like such games
I am sorry but it is weird for me.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd March)
@gaga64 I beat it on Monday
It was surprisingly enjoyable process
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd March)
@gaga64 pretty sure you will beat me I take it too slow.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd March)
This weekend I will tackle the last of the Castlevania games from the classic collection, Castlevania II Belmont's Revenge!
I got The Messenger so I will play that as well and, in the meantime, wander around Baldur's Gate 3
Happy gaming everyone!!!

Re: Sakurai Says Japanese Developers Should Avoid Trying To Appeal To Western Tastes
The best example I can think of is FromSoftware.
They make games with western feel (with the exception of Sekiro ofc.) better than most if not ALL western developers.
Re: Chances Are You've Never Heard Of Nightdive Studio's Latest Switch Rerelease
@darkswabber Thanks for the info. Let's hope they or someone gets the right to make a physical edition for the Switch.
Re: Chances Are You've Never Heard Of Nightdive Studio's Latest Switch Rerelease
I want this to have a physical edition so bad! It is a FANTASTIC GAME!!!
Update: I found that LRG did the physical of the PC version
https://limitedrungames.com/products/i-have-no-mouth-and-i-must-scream-pc-beast-box?srsltid=AfmBOorNT33MKLgAXwXxQT7sxVowyzokQWy402iZX3hHLyDhMvuRqIWS
So, there is a chance of them doing it for the Switch as well!
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship Of Doom (NES)
@Tasuki It was called Shadow Warriors in Europe. And only 1 and 2 were released here.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship Of Doom (NES)
But Ninja Gaiden 3 NES was never released in Europe, so this boxart is North America only.
Anyway, I voted for the NA cover as it is badass!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th March)
First of all, happy Women's Day to all the ladies
Now I am left with only 2 Castlevania games not beaten from the Classics collection. Adventure and Belmont's Revenge. so Castlevania The Adventure is not the chopping block this weekend.
Also, I am going to try and get into Monster Hunter with Monster Hunter World. I OWN so many MH games but never spent much time in them.

Re: Analyst Fears U.S. Tariffs Could Spell Disaster For Physical Games
The EU releases might be untouched, so I am fine, but the US market might see more digital releases.
We in the EU have more serious problems than more expensive games so ....
Re: Feature: These Past 8 Years Have Been A Privilege
I too have fairly large physical Switch library that will last be for a very long time!
The Switch generation is quite amazing even though from the Nintendo only games I only got into the Zelda franchise I have so much to play!
It is truly a Golden generation for me.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st March)
Finally, I will play Graveyard Keeper! I have been waiting for so long for a physical edition of this game!
In the meantime, I am starting Castlevania Legacy of Darkness, and I am so happy that there is no time limit tied to the good ending with Cornell!
And on the side some Silent Hill 2
Also finished the design on the Lore, Bestiary and Magic menus in Castletoria!!!

Happy gaming everyone!!!
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Doesn't Need To Worry About Steam Deck Sales
My Steam Deck is for emulation of games not available on current consoles and for PC only (mostly obscure) games.
The Switch 2 will be just fine with me
Re: Stunning New Physical Edition Of Stardew Valley Is Now Available At Fangamer
I have the regular physical edition, but I wonder what game version is on this cartridge. If it is updated with the latest patches, it might be worth it.
Re: Review: Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection (Switch) - A Comprehensive Round-Up With A Few Real Winners
@Whirlwound Just checked and it is still "Dark Spellian" in the Info of the DMG for both US and EU versions
Re: Review: Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection (Switch) - A Comprehensive Round-Up With A Few Real Winners
I just got a surprise delivery!
I thought that the game releases in the 27th
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd February)
This weekend I will be randomly playing God of War 3, Wrath Aeon of Ruin and Ocarina of Time 3D.
3 fantastic games to set the mood
And ofc the development of Castletoria continues! This year the progress will be huge!
Happy gaming everyone!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th February)
@Tasuki I really like it but it's rival Super Castlevania IV is the better game for me
Maybe it is about the atmosphere and environments that I like it more.

Re: Talking Point: Why An LCD Screen Isn't The End Of The World For Switch 2
For me it is not a deal breaker, at all.
As long as the display do not have dead pixels, I don't care if it is LCD, OLED or whatever the future brings.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th February)
@paulinhosjb13 I have a thread in the forums with screenshots and stuff about the game

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th February)
@Gs69 EmuDeck is all you need! It will install ALL of the emulators you need. After that you just put the games in their respective folders.
Also, there is a plugin called SteamRom where you can put the emulated games in gaming mode as separate games like you just bought them from Steam.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th February)
@Gs69 The Deck is a wonderful little device that is a paradise for retro gaming And some modern gaming!

Re: Poll: Is It Finally Time For Castlevania To Rise Again?
Even if Konami do not want to revive Castlevania there are many indie devs that are doing it already!
@mlt That is true! Cainhurst Castle is like a mini Castlevania area
Re: Metroidvania 'Chronicles Of The Wolf' Takes A Few Cues From Castlevania II
@B3RTAY I do not know how many of Migami other games have you played.
The 2 most recent Castlevania fan games Lecarde Chronicles and Lecarde Chronicles 2 have the same graphics but the animations here are better.
The art style is almost like a photograph that was edited with pixel art software. I really like it.
Also, his last game was published on the Switch as well, Wallachia: Reign of Dracula. It has identical graphical style as well.
As a huge Castlevania fan myself this will be a banger!
Re: Metroidvania 'Chronicles Of The Wolf' Takes A Few Cues From Castlevania II
@B3RTAY I did not get to see your first post but are you saying to not cover this game because it looks unappealing to you?
Re: Metroidvania 'Chronicles Of The Wolf" Takes A Few Cues From Castlevania II
The game is made Mig Perez and he is known for making Castlevania fan games. As far as I know he is drawing and coding the game on his own!
I can't wait to get it!
Re: Random: Ex-PlayStation Boss Wanted More "Surprises" From Switch 2 Reveal
Surprises like what? A detachable disc drive that requires an internet connection to even function? Now that is what I call a "good" surprise ...
The Switch 2 is just a better Switch 1 ... leave it alone
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st February)
@John_Deacon PoR is filled with content to the brim!
We also get Richter as a memory and as a playable character!
And after beating the game you get to hear a new version of "Simon's Theme" in the sound mode! Really cool!
Amazing game!!! Your next stop is probably Order of Ecclesia? Also, one of the very best CV games!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st February)
@Tasuki I am hoping they make a proper physical release when porting it to the PS5
I have seen the game, and it looks really good!

Re: Review: Guilty Gear -Strive- Nintendo Switch Edition (Switch) - A Fine Port & A Bold New Step
I am definitely getting this with my next paycheck!
The physical edition has the base game and the first 3 Seasons of DLC on the cart.
Re: Ubisoft Confirms Another Wave Of Layoffs, With 185 Employees Affected
@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot Same with Blizzard ... And let's not forget how Ubi butchered HoMM 6 and 7.
The people working there will find better jobs in no time.
Re: Ubisoft Confirms Another Wave Of Layoffs, With 185 Employees Affected
I hope soon Ubisoft will be the one being laid off

Add offline like with Diablo 3 and I will buy it.
While they are on it, remove the Battle.net requirement for Diablo 2 Resurrected.
