@MitchVogel As long as we found out who sabotaged the S.S. Drake, I'm happy. I was so surprised by that plot twist at the end, that I thought I hadn't gotten the best ending or there was a secret cutscene like in Pikmin 2.
@Blue_Blur Fun fact: that's not really supposed to be King Boo, it's a translation/localization error. I'm pretty sure in the original Japanese version he's just like a Big Boo or something. That said, I completely agree with your statement about the fight being unique, but I can see how some people would dislike continually hitting the slots for a Jalapeno.
The amount of gold points required for some of these rewards is ridiculous. 100 gold points for 30% off Triforce Heroes!? That's a $12 discount you had to spend at least $100 to get.
That's a great lineup, I may actually get around to watching some this year. I interviewed a guy who does speedrunning last week, and I'm starting to become quite a fan of it myself.
The off-TV is really awesome, especially on the virtual console games. I've spent many hours with my headphones plugged into that thing during football seasons. I'm surprised Pikmin 3 got less than 1% of votes; in my opinion that was the best use of the GamePad in any Wii U game. The touch screen made managing your Pikmin so easy.
So... are you saying that all I need to do to have one of my covers featured on NintendoLife is get a drumkit and get better at playing it? I'm not saying that guy isn't a really good drummer (much better than a keyboardist and guitarist like me), but there's nothing particularly special about either his cover or the video.
@AlexOlney No offense, but I suck at competitive Smash and I almost beat you once, which means that you're just not very good. (You still won every match though, so you're still not as bad as me, just not much better.)
@dronesplitter Thank you for saying that. I actually had to write a whole article on emulators and why the illegal part is downloading pirated ROMS, so now I can just make people read that when they try to argue with me. http://www.zeldarocks.com/Emulators-Amazing-Tools-or-Piracy-Devices.html
I actually discovered NintendoLife through some random app I found on Google Play after searching "Nintendo News". The app pulls articles from NintendoLife, Nintendo Enthusiast, Nintendojo, etc. Did you know about this @ThomasBW4 ? I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't, as it doesn't seem official by any means. (If you want to see for yourself, the app is called Nintendo Infos. Of course, now that I'm trying to search for it again, I'm just seeing the same DS emulators and Super Mario Bros. rip-offs.)
@LemonSlice Agreed. I know it says video, but in my opinion both as a reader and a writer, a description or summary of interesting things in the video should be included.
I actually hear the sonic ring sound effect way more often out in the world. It's rather surprising how many cash registers use one of those two iconic sound effects.
@AlexOlney I'm not familiar with any fighting games having complex controls, but that's probably because the only non-Super Smash Bros fighting games I play are on my SNES (Street Fighter 2, Clayfighter, etc.)
I'm slightly disappointed at how hard it is to get the gold points. If you compare the systems, you're really not spending any more money for free games than Club Nintendo, but there you could register retail purchases and get physical rewards. I only by Virtual Console and DLC digital, so I'll never get enough points to get anything good. (I only buy retail download if it's way cheaper like the Mega Man Legacy Collection.)
@AlanJones84 See, the problem is that Nintendo appears to like those kinds of levels, judging by the fact that "automatic" is listed as a level category on the bookmark website.
Sorry about the 10+ comments there. It wasn't posting so, despite my knowledge of how the internet works (I have my own website), I was still stupid and kept pushing the button until it worked, resulting in it being posted waaaaay too many times.
@Ashthearcher Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside story was the first RPG I ever got into, and still my favorite. I would definitely recommend it. If you like that, every Mario and Luigi I've played is great, and Super Mario RPG is awesome too (though it's a little hard to get a copy of).
@Tasuki Mega Man Unlimited is one of my favorite Mega Man games which is even more impressive considering it was made from scratch by just a few people. Capcom officially endorsed Street Fighter x Mega Man a few years ago, so it would be really awesome if they did the same thing with another fan-made game.
@NewAdvent That's what I was about to ask. As much as I love Star Fox, can we please move on with the main story now instead of reusing the same plot from 1992? Seriously, this is the third version of the first game in the series (fourth if we count Star Fox 64 3D).
@RupeeClock I'm impressed and excited. I've been searching for a copy of X2 for years. I've also been wanting to try Mega Man 7, but from what I've heard, it's not worth $200 for the cartridge.
That just made me want to go eat curry. I wonder if the writer's of that played a lot of Kirby's Dream Land; the only other time I've seen someone eat curry while running.
@DoctorOverbuild I was so excited when I saws that the Bowser's Inside Story final boss theme was in there, seeing as that's the best song in a Mario game. @Undead_terror The more I listen to Guile's Theme, the more I realize that it does go with everything. I heard this really awesome guitar cover of it a few weeks ago: https://soundcloud.com/nimrod16/guile-theme-1
Can anyone tell me why the download of the Mega Man Legacy collection is so much cheaper? It didn't seem like there were many extras in the physical version unless you're getting the Special Edition. As much as I love physical copies of games, I might get the download version just because it's so cheap. Even with tax, that's less than $3 per Mega Man game!
Thanks so much for letting us choose three answers this time. I was able to pick my three favorites (A Link to The Past, Majora's Mask, and Twilight Princess) without having to make the painful decision of which of those is best.
Great job with the redesign @antdickens , it looks great! It's probably top-secret stuff, but as a fellow web designer/programmer, it would be really cool to see your code someday.
@Darknyht I felt the same when it was released on Wii U, but I went ahead and got it during the Super Smashing sale a few years ago. The beginning is a little boring, but overall it was a very good game. The concept of shrinking down added a lot of cool gameplay elements and puzzles. Plus, I just really love Vaati's evil laugh; it's much better than Ganondorf's.
@Miles_Edgeworth I don't think that @Zach777 hates the Sonic franchise, just the Boom games. I downloaded the free demo for Rise of Lyric the day they released it, and I was so disappointed with the quality that I only finished two of the three demo levels.
@abbyhitter Like @Haiassai and @allav866 said, unless you've beaten the game you wouldn't even see that. I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out. Besides, it's not like everyone doesn't already know what her true form looks like. Just search "Midna" on the internet and you'll see plenty of plot-spoiling pictures.
Geez... if this is all it takes to publish a game on the Eshop, give me two weeks and a Unity Dev kit and I'll make something better. Hmm... that's actually not a bad idea. Would anyone here play a more advanced (as in title screen, multiplayer, achievements, etc.) version of Robotron 2084, Asteroids, or Pong?
I just spent all my video game money on a New 3DS XL (Hyrule Gold Edition of course) and a copy of Pokemon X. I'm really excited for Paper Jam and the Mega Man Legacy Collection, so hopefully I'll be able to get those when my birthday comes around later this year.
@hiptanaka Cleary we all have very different opinions about wall jumping. I've never been able to do it more than 1 in 50 attempts, and it was extremely frustrating when I got stuck in the shaft in Brinstar for hours trying to figure it out.

Sweet! Another great Mythical for my growing collection! I must say, 2016 was the best possible year for me to start playing Pokemon.

Re: Site News: Gamer Network Kindly Requests Your Help With This Survey
Done. Some odd questions though; I don't care about VR, so why did I have to answer 4 questions on how little I care?
Re: Site News: Gamer Network Kindly Requests Your Help With This Survey
I'll take the survey for two reasons:
1. There's a small chance that my feedback may help, and since @antdickens is running such a great site here, I'd love to help.
2. I'm one of those weird people who actually likes taking surveys.

Re: The North American eShop Winter Warm-Up Sale Concludes With 15 More Discounts
@Darknyht I felt the same when it was released on Wii U, but I went ahead and got it during the Super Smashing sale a few years ago. Plus, I just really love Vaati's evil laugh; it's much better than Ganondorf's.

Re: Gallery: Have a Gawk at The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD's Boxart

I personally liked the first two tears of Light sections, but the Lake Hylia one was way too hard; so I'm glad to see they've fixed that.
Re: Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam is Now Available to Pre-Load in North America
@DoctorOverbuild As cool as Fawful is, he's been dead for a little over five years now, so I don't think he's ever going to be in another video games.
