Over a number of months The Pokémon Company is releasing Mythical Pokémon to eager fans, one per month. It's now released Mythical Pokémon Jirachi, which will be available in Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire until 24th April.
To get this 'mon you need to go to 'receive gift' (there's a guide at the source link below) in game; it has the following abilities.

In addition, and as shown in the trailer below, there's a special Jirachi offering in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and some Toys 'R Us stores in North America are selling special Jirachi plush toys.

Will you be picking up this Jirachi in your copies of the 3DS-gen games?

Sweet! Another great Mythical for my growing collection! I must say, 2016 was the best possible year for me to start playing Pokemon.
Nice to finally get all these pokemon i never got to use before
it comes holding a Salac berry.
Did anyone ever get their legendary bird emailed to them? I didn't...
Also, it bugs me how the Pokemon are already level 100...
My kids have spent about $200 this year on Pokémon cards, give or take. Nintendo really needed to make better use of amiibo, my kids can't even be bothered anymore meanwhile Pokémon are consuming our wallets. We will pick up some of the Kirby ones when Roboton releases, but overall, there's no there there. And where's Cloud and Cereza?
Pokémon company, doing it right.
We should have a Legendary-Pokemon-based real world global economy.
4 games, 4 Jirachis. Yay!
I really hate how they come at level 100 most of the time. It means I would have no reason to use them so they would just sit in the bank doing nothing...forever.
So what do most of you even do with theese? My have just sat in my bank
@Moon I don't have my legendary bird yet either...
Whats the best way to build Jarichi? I seen different things in Smogon but then see other builds on youtube.
@craigmoss19 I agree. I hate using them because they break the game (or you don't have the badges to control them).
Can you put them in the daycare and have them make little baby legendaries that you can use?
If only Darkrai was wifi instead of code.
And it comes with 3 moves only? Huh?
@vincentgoodwin The daycare won't let you breed legendaries. I am yet to actually collect a level 100 promotional Pokemon because of this. I see no point. I'd rather have it at level 1 haha.
I love this! This will be my two first Jirachis.
My favorite has arrived.
Neat. Straight to the 'dex it goes!
If only Mew was distributed the same way too!
By far my favorite Pokemon in the series. I gots to get his plush and I may just dip in to one of the main Pokemon games on 3DS.
@Dryden The best/most rage inducing thing to fight is a physical Jirachi that relies on luck spamming. Jirachi gets both Iron Head and Zen Headbutt, which in conjunction with its ability Serene Grace, have a 60% chance of causing the opponent to flinch. To add insult to injury, you can also teach Jirachi Thunder Wave to paralyze the opponent, and paralyzed pokemon have a 25% chance of not being able to act each turn, and have their speed stat wrecked. With those moves, the opponent likely won't be able to do anything to Jirachi. But using that set won't make you any friends or win you any respect too.
@craigmoss19 I completely agree! I performed the Mew glitch in Yellow and have been raising it with my team. It's real fun. Even legends you catch in game are at a level comparable to where you should be in the story. The lvl 100 give aways just sit in my collection. It is nice that they can be EV trained now, at least. So they are competitively viable, if you're playing in a format that allows legendaries. Or just randomly online where the kids are throwing in their mega mewtwos lol
@Kisame83 So wait, do EVs affect pokémon's stats straight away now? I thought they only affected the growth rates rather than the actual stats.
@Calllack In Gen VI EVs are calculated immediately for any stat but full effect is of course achieved only on Level 100. This fortunately allows you to EV train every Pokémon on 100.
In Gen V stats would also be recalculated after a battle on 100 making it possible there as well.
@Calllack As BlackHeart said, they changed it so that EV training can impact max level Pokemon. And with reset bags, you can start from scratch. I assume this was after backlash from all the gen IV lvl 100 give aways. Especially since it became problematic if someone managed to get one of the items to encounter those pokemon in game (whether a Japanese player, went to an event, or used a game shark), giving them access to EV trained legendaries that other players didn't have.
