@speedracer216 that trailer was embarassingly horrendous! As I recall there was a trailer before that featuring Jade and Peyj and I think another after it that was again tonally different (negative response to the monkey thing perhaps). Frankly though I have relatives in secondary school who weren't born when the first trailer came out so it could be a farm life sim at this point for all we know.....

@stinkyx yep. I would say that is an issue across the industry (and the film industry seems to have done this too) of just remaking or re releasing old games. I love the Persona series but P3 now has about 5 versions, the latest of which probably had a big enough budget to just make a new game. On the Switch I think Ubisoft have put out more new DK and Starfox content than Nintendo!

Can't justify buying this again so I will stick to the 3DS version. As some others have said though, we need a new DK game. Tropical Freeze was about ten years ago now (preferably something new though, something like Odyssey would be nice)

I know nothing about development but if there is sound creative direction and vision then, as with many creative projects, things should turn out well, no? This looks like a worthy addition to the series from what little we have seen so far (and I say that even though I am not totally sold on the art style).

And, whilst I am here, again - time for the Mario and Luigi Collection on Switch (or 2), right? I can dream.....

Also, why does Partners In Time seem to be lost to, well, time? Loved that game.

Definitely want this. Is the Capcom Fighting Collection worth getting just for Red Earth? It's a game I am really curious about and the collection is 65% off in EU regions currently, but I have every other game in the collection through the Arcade Stadium collections. Seemed like an odd approach by Capcom there and wondering if it might get a future release elsewhere. Also worrued these might too

Reading some of the comments here, don't forget that the game is still probably a year off and that year may well be spent in all kinds of tinkering and improvements.

@glennthefrog yeah, I think that is what I am saying - since Metroid Prime was the name of the villain (SPOILERS) who became Dark Samus, then if that storyline is now over then so is the Metroid Prime character. Massively minor point of course and I will be getting the gsme whatever, unless it is an unlikely disaster

I'm no expert here but didn't MP Corruption basicslly end the MP story? I realise this is a ridiculously minor point but I would kind of prefer the game to be calked Metroid Beyond (1). Unless of course there are story links

@Ralizah we must be part of the 5 people posdibly interested in Sony's rumoured new handheld. If it is backwards compatible with PSP and Vita games from the PSN store then I would already have a decent library at launch (the Vita had very limited storage, my big bugbear with handhelds and far my impirtant to me than processing power for the Switch 2).

I have suppirted every Vanillaware game to date and will be grabbing Unicorn Overlord once the money returns! Bht I would love for Atlus / Sega to give us a Vanillaware collection on Switch (even though I have the others on Vita). Plus Princess Crown please.

@Ralizah a fellow Vita fan? 😅 Admittedly much of its catalogue has migrated now but for a long time it hosted my favourite game (Persona 4 Golden, yes, along with PC).

I certainly agree about bringimg over the rest of Vanillaware's catelogue. I think my global point is that after so many releases like this one I don't have much trust in Atlus as a company, even though they already hooked me in and I keep buying their stuff anyway. Maybe I am part of the very problem I am complaining about 😅

@Ralizah I hope so, but Atlus still publishes Vanillaware. 13 Sentinals hasn't been touched (yet) but Odin Sphere, Muramasa, Dragon's Crown and even Grim Grimmoire got enhanced re releases (OS and GG admittedly a long time later). I'll still be grabbing Unicorn Overlord once my wallet contains more than flies again though

@Makyurax keep it sealed and grab a digital copy of Vengeance in a while on sale. A physical vanilla version might be worth something down the line

Deep sale for me. Love Atlus games but this business model irks me as one of their (usually) early adopting fans. Even hesitant to pick up Unicirn Overlord in case there is a "Regal" edition in a couple of years or so.

I would like anotherArcade Stadium with their more recent coin ops. Seems like the arcade games post '95 rarely get much notice. And that includes from me, so I would like to see more

I have been expecting a Luigi's Mansion 1 shadow drop in this direct (like Pikmin) since 2 was announced, so maybe. There is a Xenoblade X rumour floating round it seems. I would like Nier Replicant and Etetnights is supposed to be coming to Switch. Not much else at this point beyond my hopes for Pandora's Tower to get some love and some other ports that or something.

The games industry is turning into Hollywood with all of the remakes and mining of the past. I love these games but give us new entries in the series and preserve these with a rerelease of the HD collection. The best games from this era still mostly hold up today in my opinion anyway.

Animal Well is the first game I have finished in a while without drifting into other games for a bit. Straight through. Only then, of course, to find out that that is not really the end

@Ganner they erased the EU because they thought they could do better but now it seems like they are cherry picking aspects of it to generate some, or even any, interest at this point. Used to love Star Wars, now I just don't care. Except for the redos of some of the older games for nostalgia's sake.

New 3D game or something totally different. Don't want another country game right now, good as they are. I remember reading a comment on here years ago about a Donkey Kong game in the style of Mirror's Edge, that might be interesting

And my vote is also against "boomer shooter". Makes it sounds like it is from the 60s and 70s.

@BlueMage yeah me too, I bought the DLC but struggled to get into the game (preferred SMTIV actually). Atlus' games are some of my favourites but their strategies... well, no. Also, the standalone nature of the new content just reinfirces that this should gave been DLC. The new stuff in the Persona games and Catherine would probably gave required too much reworking to just patch it in.

@Orpheus79V I hope you are right! Still going to be cautious for now. The only thing with P3R is that the story elements were largely done, unlike previous games. But I hope this is a new approach!

@Wisps Persona is one of my faviurite franchises but it is unlikely that I will buy the next one when it launches because 3 years later there will be the emerald version or something. I agree that this should be DLC (I think there are no changes to the original content anyway).

With SMTV specifically I thought that Nintendo publishing it might have made a difference or that they would do what they did with SMTIV with a second linked stsndalone game. Guess not.

@Pillowpants This. I love Atlus games but their approach to most releases these days essentially punishes early buyers who are probably their biggest fans and supporters

I remain convinced that there will be a Direct in June with more information on this and a shadow drop of the first game in HD, like they did with Pikmin

As a formerly big Star Wars fan I can safely say that May the Fourth no longer has any meaning for me.

Probably going to play El Shaddai but there is so much in my backlog I could probably go dark for three years at this point and have sufficient entertainment.

I think the disc for this is still in my old PS3 that hasn't been used in years. Definitely going to pick this up and was only waiting for performance confirmation. Also slightly surprised that there is no mention of the sort-of sequel The Lost Child already on Switch.

I feel like Chained Echoes got a bit overshadowed by the hype around Sea of Stars but it is definitely worth your time.

You should all support Hollow Knight too, then we might get a sequel.....

Lots of comments about the Wario Land games here. 3DS was excellent on that front (although I think 4 was Ambassador only). Shake Dimension could really use a remaster. And that's all it probably needs, a literal upscaling. With the rumoured Switch 2 delays, why not eh.....?

Not sur how on topic this Is but earlier this week I received an email from Aspyr about my KOTOR2 missing content download code asking me what I wanted for a free download and saying my request had been put in the wrong queue. Just in case anybody else was waiting on this (I vaguely remember a few mentioning it) - my original email to them was back in September!

@the_beaver as PixelateVision said there is The Last Revelation and Chronicles, essentially 4 and 5. Chronicles is mostly a bunch of short adventures told in Flashback whilst characters from TLR discuss Lara's possible fate and it was described by one of the developers as "complete sh#t" but I remember enjoying it. Different times back then though.....

The Angel of Darkness which I think was the last game from the original team (on PS2) was awful but a lit of signs, even at the time, suggested it was released in a far from finished state, possibly with a lot of cut features and content (I am saying this from hazy memories though)

Wonder if they will do the other two PS1 games. I realuse that even the devs criticised them (certainly the final one) but I remember still liking them and, well, completeness. Also, controversial, how about revisiting Angel of Darkness and actually finishing it the way it was suppised to be?

I don't mind so much if they drop some of these awful practices like dropping a $30 pass or releasing a revamped or "complete" version down the line.

I love Atlys games, one of my favourite developers, but their release strategies border on dishonest and unethical (not illegal unethical, but.....). This should have a DLC option, it doesn't seem to have reworking like P5R

Could be good, Lost Crown has been great so far. I ask for this with a lot of franchises but a POP collection would be nice (Sands of Time stuff plus the old games and the PS3,PSP and Wii Sands sequels). Probably never happen.

Alien Trilogy would probably make sense

Double Dragon 3 is pretty awful but I would still like to have it in the Arcade Archives for completeness
