Paid update for upgraded graphics with the same 30FPS? Lol. Games on GOG receives patches like this for free. Some of them even support not only 60FPS, but 90 and 120FPS as well. Console gaming is too much monetized now. Laptops (especially) and PCs are expensive... But, they don't force you to spend so much money for games, paid updates, and online. Also, PC stores have regional pricing, something that consoles stores lacks.
And no mention of Shovel Knight, huh? Nintendo versions of the game have Knight Fairies that can be unlocked only through amiibo scan. Back in 2021, when I was thinking about which amiibo to buy (the choice was between Piranha Plant and Golden Shovel Knight), I've bought... Golden Shovel Knight, and after that, I've bought Shovel Knight: King of Cards, just to make more use of it, lol. But the worst thing about specific platform exclusives in Shovel Knight is that only Nintendo's exclusive content is locked behind physical DLC. And it's even not Nintendo themed! PlayStation versions have Kratos boss fight and exclusive gear for Shovel Knight. And it's free. XBOX versions have Battletoads boss fight and exclusive gear for Shovel Knight. And, it's free. Nintendo versions? Some Knight Fairies that aren't based on any Nintendo's IP and are locked behind amiibo paywall. Even no exclusive gear. Why PlayStation and XBOX users got exclusive content for free, while Nintendo users need to buy physical DLC!?
@Dalamar I meant «funny» sarcastically, not seriously. I am myself disappointed with Nintendo's current guidelines since 2024, when they banned Hyperdimension Neptune and Death end re;Quest Zero from NA and PAL eShops... Look: https://www.gematsu.com/2026/01/romance-visual-novel-lovepical-poppy-coming-to-ps4-switch-on-june-25-in-japan Another already translated Japanese game that isn't coming to NA and PAL eShops... It's not funny at all.
@ottoecamn @Dalamar @Nep-Nep-Freak @AussieMcBucket You know, it's funny to check Gematsu everyday just to see that every second or third Japanese game announced for Switch 1 and 2 is coming only to Japanese eShop, despite having already English translated versions that are available on GOG and/or Steam.
@Darylb88 @DarkTron Ushiro was announced years ago. And where is it now? Nowhere. It was cancelled for the second time. First time was when it was originally announced for PSP.
So, he didn't talk about self-censorship of Nintendo titles, and didn't mention Nintendo of America's uncontrollable censorship and bans of Japanese games? How convenient, right?
Being unable to remap controls in-game can be a serious issue. Clustertruck is almost unplayable physically on consoles because of bad unremappable controls. Funny (nope) thing is, Steam version got controls remapper years ago, and while Landfall rep said that they will add controls remapping to console versions, it actually never happened. Don't buy Clustertruck on consoles.
@Bass_X0 The same for Vega (Dictator)? Every game killing him off, saying «Vega is dead.» and reviving him in the next instance? The same for Heihachi? Yeah, different studios and IPs, but problem is the same.
@Misima That's all consoles issue, not only Nintendo's, to be fair.
Also, the lack of mods is not that significant as the paid online in paid games. I'd be fine if online subscriptions were necessary only for F2P games, but they aren't. It's why online base is always bigger and more active on PC than on consoles.
But, as you see, users swallowed paid online and are fine with that, sadly.
@mlt I mean, look at Charlie Nash. CAPCOM hated him since SFZ's days. Killing him in every game, turning him into a robot (Shadow) and Frankenstein (his SFV iteration), and turned his actions with plot significance into the dust.
@LEGEND_MARIOID @Pillowpants How are you still able to see Anti-Matter's comments? Lol. When I've asked them once what Japanese boxing game they were playing on PS2, in one of «What are you playing this weekend?» articles, they've added me to the blacklist, lol.
Well, as long as it has all characters like in the other versions, it's not that bad, I think. @roy130390 I wondered about that for a few years, but... What is the source behind your pfp? Some animation on YouTube?
@Hern4ndeZzz Book of Shadows (2nd game) and 2U (3rd game) were banned in NA and PAL eShops. Physical Japanese versions and digital versions have English language... But why care about importing when you can buy it easily either on GOG or Steam? They have regional pricing and will be definitely cheaper than on eShop. When GOG (as everything else) was working in Russia, I've bought Book of Shadows and 2U for 3$USD each, thanks to regional pricing and discount.
First they banned Hyperdimension Neptune, Death end re;Quest, CORPSE PARTY, Brave X Junction, anime games in general. Now they force Western developers to censor the games? Good that I have a laptop now where I am the only one to judge which games I shall play and in which appearance.
Well, not all materials that featured in trailers can appear in the final game.
Look at how many things BIOHAZARD REV1 trailers had, and how much things were cut/changed in the final release.
@LazyDaisy Well, we got Silksong after all these years, at least. The same cannot be said about Katana ZERO's DLC that more looks like a vaporware than an actual work in development.
«Things got off to a rocky start with Revelations in 2012, during which it was revealed that Morgan Lansdale was the architect behind the game’s events. Remember him? No, no one else does either.» As a REV1 fan, I feel insulted. There was a "cliffhanger" at the end of REV1, and CAPCOM still haven't made any follow-up/mention to that thing. Also, CAPCOM lacks good writing in their games in general. I wonder if they're hiring actual scenario writers for games or not...

Re: Nintendo, Sony And Xbox Update "Safer Gaming" Principles
@AussieMcBucket Yep. If we want to continue to play Japanese games – we either need to switch to PC or learn Japanese language...

Do they still work on DECAPOLICE? Lol...
Re: Nintendo's Investors Are Reportedly "Spooked" As Stock Slides
Well, Nintendo Switch 1 was more viable during its first year of lifespan than Switch 2, imo.
Re: Capcom Announces Resident Evil Showcase, Teases Brand New Gameplay And News For Requiem
Leon's gameplay, finally.
BIOHAZARD 6 players, rejoice.
Re: Review: Cassette Boy (Switch) - A Dimension-Flipping Zelda-like With A Unique Hook
I don't like the mix of 2D sprites with the 3D trees.

Re: PSA: Switch Game Vouchers Won't Be Sold After January 2026
@Drago201 Reason? Simple – money. Nintendo fans will swallow it and Nintendo themselves know this.

NA one for me.
PAL one looks too minimalistic for me. While JP one... Shows only Leon. That's boring.

We'll get Deltarune full release before Katana ZERO's DLC, I'm sure of this.

Re: Katsuhiro Harada Announces Departure From Bandai Namco
T7 and T8 were disappointing, so it's probably for the best, and for Harada himself too.

Nothing, probably. CAPCOM FIGHTING COLLECTION 2 was a close one, tho.
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Credits Reveal A Plethora Of Assist Devs, Including Next Level Games
