Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy A Digital-Only 'Switch 2'?

TruthisRare

Doesn't matter if your either for or against games all going digital, fact is, when they do, we'll all be paying premium prices for games, especially new ones.
Wont be any more cheaper options through big w, used copies etc.
You'll always have to wait for sales on digital only

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Strong Sales Continue Months After Launch (US)

TruthisRare

After having finished the game twice, got about 115 shrines etc, I just feel this game isn't as good as everyone has made it out to be?
I loved botw and plan on playing it again, but I just found that nintendo jammed so many gimmicks in this game, travelling was a slog, the underground got repetitive, npc dialogue went on and on, and upgrading your armour and horse was a grindy boring slog as well.
Only thing I enjoyed was the main campaign missions, thats it.
Botw, I loved every aspect of it, exploration, upgrading, divine beasts, combat etc.
Suppose it's just me

Re: Video: Here's A Look At Red Dead Redemption Running At 60FPS On Switch

TruthisRare

Just goes to show people are getting way less for what they are paying, (bare bones port at 30 fps) and setting the precedent for settling for less, thus benefiting money hungry corporations.
I get it, switch owners who only have that console get an opportunity to play a classic, but, it's like we can't help prostitute ourselves for some pleasure.
I too have been guilty paying premium prices for games/consoles to fill that gaming lust, but, seeing where the industry is going, we all need to start thinking hard, as we are only sending them a clear message; we are happy to pay big bucks for less quality/content.
We will have only ourselves to blame

Re: Talking Point: The Games We Got Rid Of - What Were We Thinking?

TruthisRare

I do wish I kept at least half of what I bought and owned back in the day. But the real scary thought is, if I kept everything I bought, from consoles to games (started playing from the nes era, and have had nearly every major console/handheld) it'd be the size of a mini retro videogame shop.
I shudder to think how much of my hard earned cash I spent on this hobby.
But it's also.the reason I've held onto my 360 and wiiu.
Will definitely keep my switch and series x (which i use mainly for emulation these days)

Re: Feature: So, Which Zelda Games Aren't On Switch Yet?

TruthisRare

My beef is I like to own my games, not "rent"
Should be a no brainer that games like zelda oot and majoras have an option to be purchased.
As for twilight & ww, I still play them on my wiiu.
But also, thank goodness for emulation, as I get to play all these games in hi res.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pikmin 4?

TruthisRare

@Vertigoat

Only pikmin I ever finished was first one back on gamecube. But as for the rest same, started them then gave up after few hours.
I downloaded demo of 4, and, did the same, didn't even finish that!
I think it's one of those type of games you either invested in or not.

@PinderSchloss
Don't you dare be critical of a nintendo game or product!
That's what you'll get on websites like this anyways.
Yes, I enjoyed totk and thought it was a good game in general, but not as good as critics and the like thought.
I still prefer the simplicity of botw.
But I also hope nintendo will go back and make a zelda game in the more traditional sense ie oot, tp, ww etc.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Gets A Tasty Limited Time Discount (UK)

TruthisRare

@Switch_Pro

Your not a nintendo policeman? Got to watch out these days, as nintendo has even been striking down youtubers streaming their games legally mind you, and closing them down, cutting off their incomes.
If it makes you feel better, when it comes to new titles, I buy them, but when it comes to games you can no longer buy, I emulate. I'm not "stealing" nothing, and I feel fine in my conscience doing so. I'm the type, I won't even steal a pen from work I feel guilty. Not when it comes to retro games you can't buy!
Is the real issue maybe you are jealous because you don't have access to emulators? A series x?
Heck, most of the nintendo life staff probably use emulation.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Gets A Tasty Limited Time Discount (UK)

TruthisRare

@Switch_Pro
Pirating? Would be if the said games were on sale. Plus, all the games I emulate, I own them on wiiu (n64, snes, gba etc eshop) so I've bought and paid for them all (actually, bought same games multiple times over the years)
So, for me, I have no problem. If nintendo allowed us to buy their games on switch, I would!
But their loss! I'll continue to emulate all of nintendos classics.
You should see how good diddy king racing runs on series x. Not to mention gamecube games.
I do it all on dev mode, so, inpaid for this service.
Thanks Microsoft!

Re: Soapbox: It's The Port I've Dreamed Of, But Can Switch Deliver The Batman We Need?

TruthisRare

One thing that excites me about switch version is, in the trailer, it looks like asylum and city are the original versions of the game, not the remasters.
I have arkham remastered on my series x, and got to say, for me, they are ugly ports. Hate the way batman looks in asylum, the 45 fps is a real put off, and cities framerate isn't great.
If they can get both original version of games running at 30 fps on switch, ill be very happy.
As for knight, that's another story

Re: Talking Point: Is Super Mario Bros. Wonder Really A Departure From The 'New' Series?

TruthisRare

I'm more excited for mario RPG. Don't feel excited for wonder, looks average, to me anyways.
Final release could surprise and be a killer game, that's always a possibility.
But I'm finding there's too much hype with major nintendo titles as of late, and that can affect scores and sales.
Finished totk and thought it was a good game, but not as some reviews suggested.
I still prefer botw and it's simplicity over totk

Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

TruthisRare

Have completed the main campaign, and thats it for me. Loved the first 20 to 30 hours, but then, something started to set in for me. I loved the depths at first, but then realised, they became very repetitive, and I would only visit to get autobuild and to farm for puff shrooms and the like.
Sky Islands were a let down for me, apart from the main central hub/island.
Hyrule was good and varied enough, but with all the vehicle building and ways of getting about, I didn't bother exploring like I did in botw.
Highlights for me were the dungeons, thought they were great.
But overall, I dont have the desire to go back and play anymore, as a matter of fact, I started up botw again, and just enjoying the simplicity of it.
I'm never one to complain about extra content, but personally, I felt totk became too convoluted with all the extra systems and the like.
That's me anyways
