Umm, it also was questioned whether many used "covid" for an excuse for inactivity etc.

I called it years ago actually. Next zelda will probably be a switch and switch pro release and metroid 4 a pro release. Don't think covid had much to do with it.
Nintendo announced metroid 4 way early to drum up excitement, but most probably to be a launch game for pro.

Just save up and get a series x my friend.
It's the sole reason I bought it, for emulation (and to play 360 compatible games)
Don't want to rub salt in wound, but twin snakes plays perfectly on my series x.

My series x is a better nintendo retro console than my switch. With this and retroarch, get to play gba, snes, n64 and gamecube games.
Gave up waiting on nintendo to release gamecube games, also hate their subscription service, I would rather buy games than "hire"

I've downloaded all these on retroarch on my series x, but I wouldve been more than happy to buy these if they were available (and for sale) on switch.
Nintendonhave really dropped the ball big time in this regard

That's what I love about retroarch on series x, I've got all these games, and apart from dk64, they all run beautifully.
Plus, also have rare replay downloaded and get to play goldeneye, series x is a better nintendo retro console than my switch!

Games run great on my series x, some even better than nso...

My series x is a better retro nintendo system than my switch is. Goldeneye for free with my rare replay and retroarch with catalogue of gamecube, n64, wii games, sweet!
If nintendo had half a brain, and released back catalogue of their best games on switch and, allowed us to buy them, I wouodve of been more than happy.
Subscription service is not really that good, and considering some of the emulated n64 games run better on retroarch than they do on nso.

This as well as retroarch on my series x has made that a better nintendo system than the switch itself.

I agree with you.
I would gladly buy a couple n64 games and snes ones, but to pay for handful of ancient games subscription only is ridiculous.

Thankfully still have my wiiu, can play zelda ww hd and tp hd again!

Halo ce, metroid prime, zelda oot, mario 64, wave race 64, super metroid are games I play EVERY year

For me, switch in 2022 could have been great if they released metroid prime trilogy hd , metroid prime 4, gamecube titles and, the ability to buy nso games, not just rent.
As it is, im really grateful for my series x, as ive been able to enjoy a plethora of n64, gamecube and snes games (which I already own on other older consoles) via emulation.
Would have been great to have all these on switch, and I would be more than happy to pay.
Anyway, off to play more starfox adventures on series x!

For me, biggest videogame theme of 2022 was emulation on series x.
Played almost perfect versions of diddy kong racing, fzerox, duke nukem zero hour, turok 3, etc.
Still fun and fantastic games

Where is the darn game? Nintendo? Xbox?
(Though I'll get it on xbox since you can actually own the game)

I wouldve been happy to buy and own snes/n64 etc games on switch, but not interested in subscription without the option to buy.
I'm the type of gamer who likes to own games.
That's why xbox game pass is fantastic, at least that way, I can try out many games, and the ones I really like, I buy.
thank goodness for emulation, I get to play all of nintendos great games on retroarch series x anyways.

If vc games are not profitable enough for Nintendo to sell, why the NSO?
(Because they still do make money)
Xbox game pass has the best model.
You can "rent" games and/or purchase them.

Honestly, if the switch had back compat of nintendos older games to buy and not just to rent, wouldve been greatest console for me.

Oh wow, aren't we all lucky! Nintendo has drip fed us plebs some more crumbs for 60 bucks a year!
Thank goodness for retroarch on series x, via dev mode (nothing else worth playing on that console as well) have been playing an abundance of genesis, snes, n64, gamecube games. Not to mention, the back compat 360 and og games, that's why for me, series x is best console at the moment.
I wouldve glady bought many of these games on switch if nintendo actually released any and "allowed" us to purchase them.

No need for me to remember it, playing them right now on retroarch series x (as well as tons of other great n64 games)

On xbox series s & x you download the dev mode app, pay 20 dollar sign up fee on Microsoft website (to keep it legal and keep you from being banned) then through the dev mode you bring up retroarch and that is where you download roms (emulated games)
There's plenty of YouTube vids that shiw you step by step.
Honestly, having so many downloaded n64 games has brought back good ol gaming joy.
Pity nintendo doesn't know what they're doing anymore.
Having bugger all games on nso is just poor (not to mention you can't buy any of them, and the emulation of some of their games runs better on retroarch)
I wouldve glady bought an n64 mini console or any of their games on switch as the n64 console/games still remains my favourite out of every generation of gaming, including current gen which to me on ALL consoles is poor.
Only thing I like series x for is the ability to play 360, og, back compat games, and retroarch, that's it.

For me, best cosy gift I done was getting retroarch on my series x and able to play (and own) so many n64 games, metroid prime etc.
These here were all my cozy go to games.
Wouldve been happy to buy these on switch, but since nintendo is so anti consumer, dev mode is the next best thing!

When I clicked on nintendo life saw metroid prime I for one second thought it may have been a remastered announcement for switch till I read the headline.

So, would you say this review was overly harsh?
Again, I'm no big sonic fan, but this game is alot of fun

I opted to get this on my series x (my switch is basically for exclusives etc) and after having nearly finished the second island and all its challenges, its a solid 8 out of 10.
Seems like switch version is terrible going by this review.
I never really got into sonic or any of the 3d games, but decided to give this a try, and really enjoying it.
Sure, it's no botw or mario, but I can't put it down.

Really? For me, I'd rather just purchase a few games and be done with. But then again, I have a snes mini and still have my wiiu with most n64 games on there, so I'm good

My switch is now so stable, it no longer vibrates from its motion sensors!

Funny thing is, if I could buy any of those games, I wouldve been happy to purchase and own.
But as for subscription, for me it really leaves alot to be desired, and just don't find it worth paying.
At least on xbox game pass there are tons of games, old and new, and, you can buy them if you wish!

nintendo directs have mostly for me, been underwhelming because I gave in to the pre hype one too many times.
Goldeneye was a surprise, but at least xbox gives you the option to buy/own.
Still to this day, don't like nso, why cant I buy any of the games?
