Re: Review: Disgaea 5 Complete (Switch)

@greengecko007 As the video you've linked shows, when you select attack it queues the command, or in the game's terminology 'registers the action'. You then go into a separate menu with a different button (it also has options like 'end turn' etc) to execute the command. That's the process I explain. You move, and in that menu you can swap weapons around and choose 'attack', and then it's that separate execute menu where you carry out the move.

That process works in the context of what the game tries to do with combo attacks etc, but my point was that this is a deep game and, in my opinion, can be a little obtuse and inefficient with aspects of the UI and gameplay.

I'm cool, obviously, with the fact not everyone will agree with that, but the video you link to reinforces my point, rather than the opposite.

Re: Nintendo Switch UK Tour Confirmed, Starting in June

I admire your optimism that there'll be more than two demos, I really do

Of course there'll be surprises and other games, but that doesn't mean they'll organise extra demo units for this tour!

I hope they do though; heck, just swap something else for 1-2-Switch.

@BionicDodo Yeah I do generally agree. My pre-launch concerns about the price weren't over whether they were 'fair', but whether enough would like the idea enough to stump up the cash. So far it's done well, so there you go! I'm glad it's had such a great start.

The tablet itself is a very capable device in terms of power, plus obviously the Joy-Con and dock tech have their cost. Evidently the $299.99 is working well for Nintendo so far.

@ValhallaOutcast I wouldn't pay attention to what little bespoke entrepreneurs are charging in this context. Companies like Nintendo manufacture millions of units, so the cost per unit for them is well down. Someone on eBay doing customised docks or whatever is paying a lot more for materials etc.

As I said in the article, pricing often factors in aspects of 'R&D' costs etc as companies claw back money they've spent. I think a lot of the accessories are relatively ok in price - maybe $10 or so higher than expected, perhaps. I think the dock is pushing it a bit though

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Puts Thumper and ARMS to the Test on Nintendo Switch

ThomasBW84

@BJQ1972 He wasn't blaming the Switch, but highlighting that on PS4 and PC it played best (without that input lag) in VR. He highlights how playing in portable mode removes any of the lag, so that's a positive for Switch.

I have a pretty good TV in that sense so it's not an issue for me, but it's useful to play in portable mode for those with a TV that can't quite handle Thumper's quickfire inputs.

@ThanosReXXX Thanks There is a sound system in the family, I should try that! I do have some relatively expensive headphones that have helped immerse me, at least! Headphones or sound system are certainly the way to go.

@alasdair91 You're talking about two different games. Minecraft Switch Edition will get a retail release at some point, and that's the sandbox Minecraft everyone knows that's out tomorrow on the eShop.

Minecraft Story Mode (coming to Switch retail at some point this year as The Complete Adventure) is an episodic set of games developed by Telltale Games
