I had a go on Switch and have to agree, this game is a hoot and really well made.

@Franklin Yeah, I'd hope it'd have 2D and 3D games from the series, as I said in the article the 'Mega Collection' from years ago had a heck of a lot of varied games included.

@RupeeClock It's the announcement trailer from last year, so a good while ago in terms of development. Presumably the publisher is working on a new trailer, they're still directing people to that one.

@sixrings I haven't pixel counted (more a Digital Foundry thing) so won't pretend I have, but I said a few times that I think it's a beautiful looking game. The publisher says its 1080p docked, it either is or very close with some dynamic resolution, equally it's nice in portable mode too.

@Friendly That's up to each publisher (many do make Switch specific trailers, even Respawn did for the launch trailer). Nintendo should be picky in what it re-posts, in my opinion. Likewise with the eShop, if a video on a game page isn't representative of the Switch version it should be there.

Just because this happens all the time, doesn't make it right, and showing footage with roots in a 4K PC build as 'Switch Gameplay' is inaccurate.

In any case it's just a Talking Point, I think it's bad practice to do this in trailers, whether it's Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft or whoever. That's the good thing about a TP though, not everyone has to agree

amiibo are always a bit of a sneaky thing, as they're both collectable and DLC, in general though Ninty hasn't charged us for 'in-game' updates, but I do get your point. And as you say, if anything it strengthens the reasoning for updating the game more, as they are making vast sums of money off it, they can afford the dev time.

@gaga64 I'm not long back into the 'biz', but generally I don't play games in work hours (apart from a sneaky 15 mins in Animal Crossing!), so it's still a hobby for me. That said I'm not doing reviews at the moment, so I think if reviews are a big part of the job it may be different. For me it doesn't take any of the shine off gaming as a fun activity

@Dezzy Also just to highlight it, Animal Crossing: New Horizons won the category it was in. It was all about games that had an impact 'beyond being a game', if that makes sense. I think it's nice to have varied awards, especially with games striving to be taken 'seriously' in the same way as film, books etc.

@B_Lindz At the moment I've only seen the information about the Switch release; that doesn't rule out other platforms, but right now it just seems to be Switch in terms of consoles.
