Re: Microsoft "Confident" Activision Could Optimise Call Of Duty For Nintendo Switch

ThomasBW84

@Rainz I personally think it crosses the line in terms of acquisition size, though admittedly Microsoft is making a LOT of concessions to get it approved. But it's not just CoD they're buying, it's one of the world's largest mobile companies, World of Warcraft etc. Activision became massive when it acquired Blizzard, and now Microsoft wants to absorb the whole lot.

Bethesda was big but without the sheer capital value and scope of Activision Blizzard. Sony went and bought Bungie (and maybe overpaid). They're big acquisitions, but this Acti-Blizz one is on a different level. It's just my personal view that it's too big, and sets us on a potential acquisition arms race where a few companies acquire all the major players.

That's devastating to hear. Not only was Philip a fantastic writer, but he was a lovely person - witty, warm and generous.

Philip was a big part of the team when I was a newcomer figuring everything out, and he was a standard-setter with his writing and a wonderful colleague in every way.

You will be missed, Philip, rest in peace.

Re: Review: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 1 - A 'Safe' Start To The 48-Track DLC Pack

@lighteningbolt79 We can agree to disagree Some of the tracks in the original 'retro cups' were revamped and adjusted to incorporate ant-grav etc, but these are more basic interpretations with MK Tour builds as a base. That's fine though, the overall review is positive!

Also I think because the first two cups are normally the 'easiest' in MK a couple of the tracks are very simple and basic. I'm sure it'll gradually ramp up in later waves too.
