@NEStalgia I think you mis-read "such as blowing your whistle by tapping the bottom-right-hand corner". No annoying blowing into the mic mentioned there
@crackafreeze I'm hoping for the best, I love NBA Jam so really want this to be good. It has elbow throwing, so fingers crossed!
@Fred13 I'm not sure, we're hoping to snag a Switch code for review so our aim will be to cover stuff like that asap. The game page on the eShop shows that tabletop mode is supported, but whether that means we can play with one Joy-Con each or not isn't necessarily guaranteed.
@Danpal65 Yeah, I'm in that camp. It's all about the Holiday story content for me, but I'll likely pay for this just to do the Sword Trial. Currently on my 'full' playthrough after bashing through to the credits for review, and despite all the hours I still love playing this game.
@stevejcrow I just mean deleting games and managing space on the hard drive. My PS4 is one of the older ones with 500GB, so I'm often having to choose something to delete as various retail games at 40-60GB each. And no, I don't feel inclined to invest in a new hard drive for it
My point was that the PS4 disc is pointless, all it does is dump the data onto your system anyway.
@BionicDodo Ah I see, it's a fair point. I did also seek out those happy to speak on the record (in the third section), and the aim was to balance out with that section where devs defend / explain some of the issues. It's inevitable that plenty request anonymity though, they have business concerns to worry about.
Thanks for the feedback though - I was happy with the balance in terms of portraying different perspectives, but appreciate the comments.
@BionicDodo Nintendo had full right of reply (stated at the end). They had significant access to the article before publication, they chose not to comment. That's fair enough, their prerogative, but they had the opportunity.
I'm glad you're enjoying it with your son. One of the quirks of the writing is that it probably makes more sense to grown-ups because of the references, but the fact it's LEGO (it's all physical comedy) means it's funny for kids too.
But yeah, I do like this game, I think some think I'm 'attacking' it. Naturally in a review I'm duty-bound to highlight flaws as I see it, but ultimately I hope people that buy it have fun. The LEGO games, 9 times out of 10, are always entertaining.
@Romeo-75 I'm afraid that TT seems happy to churn out inefficient games, I don't think I've ever played a well optimised LEGO game on a Nintendo system - they're always a bit janky.
In single player docked this version runs pretty well, but yeah I think the co-op performance is rather bad. I remember being amazed at how bad co-op was in LEGO Dimensions on Wii U, too.
@wariosmith I didn't say it was unplayable, but it's disappointing. It is 'playable', but I certainly wouldn't choose to play it in handheld mode personally.
Anyway, I appreciate all the opinions that feel this game should score higher, that's fair enough. I just don't share that view, but remember 6 means 'not bad' and I enjoyed the game.
I know some still subscribe to the view that anything under an 8 is 'bad', but I'm afraid that won't stop us using all of the numbers in the scale.
@Zach777 The lighting and some of the assets have been overhauled. On top of that the Switch supports the full RGB colour range, so the blacks are darker and so on.
For my money (I captured the footage) the Switch version looks a lot better on my 50-inch TV, but there have been some interesting decisions in the remaster (obviously PS4 and Xbox One were also in mind). It's not exactly a slam dunk, either, as you can see there are glitches and strange graphical inconsistencies.
Anyway, hoping to have the review with you all in the next day or two!
@BornInNorway81 NoA doesn't do the discount lists in its press release, so I give the link to its site that does that. Nintendo of Europe does give the list of discounts, so that's why that equivalent article will show the reduced games.
@BLP_Software Ah, I just got mixed up because it was FAST RMX used as an example when that all came out, my bad (I don't have I Am Setsuna so can't comment on that one). But yeah, I wasn't about when that article was written up, so got confused like a typical old man.
@Dangerous25 He enjoyed going to the game, one thing off the list of things to do Unfortunately it wasn't a very good game, although at least they won!
@meppi Will try that, though presumably the 'updates' will sort that out; evidently RGB range is part of the issue with the emulation, based on what you're saying.
I'd second what some are saying that the games are still perfectly playable and fun. I've been enjoying a bit of Metal Slug 3 too, but definitely looking forward to seeing if fixes do the job.
EDIT: Ah, you're having more general issues? Maybe check your HDMI connections etc too. The Switch does output a nice deep image in full RGB range in my case, so I'm not sure what's going wrong for you.
@Joeynator3000 I suppose I could, yes. I'll look into that for next week (I think the store updates on a Wednesday in Japan, or maybe that's just the impact of timezones).
@Ralizah I think that's fair enough. I'm guessing they rushed for launch day in Japan (and Europe) and have been caught out with unexpected emulation issues. Hopefully the updates will get these titles tip-top.

Re: Nintendo Download: 4th May (North America)
@The__Goomba It's due on 9th May in Europe too, yeah.
Re: Nintendo Outlines Pricing and Details for DLC in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
@JaxonH Yeah I've corrected that. The season pass is about 12% or so discount from buying each pack.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Master Trials DLC?
@Danpal65 Yeah, I'm in that camp. It's all about the Holiday story content for me, but I'll likely pay for this just to do the Sword Trial. Currently on my 'full' playthrough after bashing through to the credits for review, and despite all the hours I still love playing this game.
Re: Random: Chicago Cubs Shortstop Addison Russell Has an Interesting Approach With His Pokémon Cards
@JaxonH Weird, must be MLB getting silly, will add a different link.
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Takes Top Spot to Give Nintendo a First UK Number 1 Since 2011
Oh wow, that Puyo Puyo Tetris box is so disappointing. And I banged on about how awesome the boxes were in a feature too!

Re: Elliot Quest Arrives on the 3DS eShop on 11th May
@maceng The screenshot in the article is for Wii U, which I note in the little comment under the image
We should do better in maintaining screenshots on game pages though, that's fair. Thanks for the feedback.
Re: Nintendo Download: 27th April (North America)
@Sakura As do I.
Re: Pokémon Drives 3DS Sales Increase, With Another Six Million Systems Expected to Ship This Year
All of you saying that sales projection points to a Pokémon game, I wholeheartedly agree
Re: GameStop Confirms Nintendo Switch Stock Now In US Stores With Trade-In Credit Deal
@Joeynator3000 This stock is only in stores, do your local outlets have public numbers you can call to check?
Re: Video: Bask in the Giddy Drama of the Disgaea 5 Complete Opening Movie
@Farmboy74 Same here, the intro makes it quite irresistible.
Re: LAN Play in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is Only Truly Suitable for Competitions and Events
@NaviAndMii Yep, that's for eight players, this LAN business is a different option.
Re: LAN Play in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is Only Truly Suitable for Competitions and Events
@JH64 It supports 8 players not 12 and you need to all be feeding into WiFi, I imagine, I haven't tried it in a park or anything

@Jimmmo It'll be global, no regional restrictions in the game's online Tournament mode.

What an odd turn this comments section has taken!
Re: Nintendo Download: 20th April (North America)
@gatorboi352 Was it? I missed that, it was sitting in the DL press release so that's why it's there.
Re: Preview: Battle Mode is Back On Form in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
@Anti-Matter Yep, all there!
Re: Preview: Going to Battle in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
@EarthboundBenjy Nope, it's been replaced.

Re: Nintendo Download: 6th April (Europe)
All updated now with discounts, Fire Emblem stuff etc, plus a fresh poll.
Re: Feature: The Biggest Nintendo Switch Retail Games of 2017 - Spring Edition
Yes it was supposed to say 2017, my bad.
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th March (North America)
@NEStalgia Yeah, I followed Nintendo's lead. I suspect they split them up to make the updates look better!
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th March (North America)
@NEStalgia It was in last week's DL update for NA (though its release date was this week), so it was in that poll.
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th March (North America)
Hm, the poll seems to be misbehaving, we'll try to figure out the cause of that.
