We all know the Switch is more powerful than the Wii U, but it doesn't truly come to light just how far Nintendo's come until you see stuff side-by-side.
Fire Emblem Warriors and Hyrule Warriors are perfect examples to show this, so we've put them together in the video above to allow you to see what Nintendo's latest hybrid is really made of.

swtch is suuu week, no fird pardy suppurt, not bying, ill go by a ps4 cuz its more powurfull and iznt a gimped consul.
I don't think KOEI Tecmo pushed the Wii U to the limit. No doubt the little bit of extra power has helped here. FEW does look noticeably better. The addition of voice acting in FEW adds to the immersion as well.
@KirbyTheVampire Thats one way to see it
I wonder if they will make a Hyrule Warriors remastered for the Switch?.... I loved that game. And would be cool to see it on the Switch (but release it later so that we won't have so many remakes in one year)
Holy crap, you don't realize how much better FE Warriors looks until you see a comparison side by side.
That's a pretty noticeable jump in graphics.
Is it graphics or art style choices? FEWarriors looks very clean and bright and I'm sure is a step above Hyrule Warriors but I'm not sure it is entirely because of the console.
Regardless it is pretty amazing considering I'd have to tape about 15 Switches together to equal the size of a PS4.....maybe 6 together to equal the Wii U plus Gamepad
What aboit performance in co op, mr OPoster?
This worries me more than SP
Chrom in ultra 4k violet hd blu-ray deluxe, DAT is enough of a reason to get FE: Warriorsand any game Chrom is Chroming into!
@Gerbwmu Probably a bit of both, but you can't dismiss the quality update of some points, like the backgrounds.
The detail difference on the floor during cutscenes at 2:47 seems crazy.
@Proust
Everyone cares about graphics.
Nintendo fans are just smart enough to not care so much that it keeps them from enjoying a great game.
Graphics aren't my problem, having enough time/money to play all of the games I wish I could be playing is. Mostly time really due to work, but if I didn't work I wouldn't have the money so I couldn't buy the games but then I don't have time to play the games so I wish I could just not work to play the games which in turn leads me back into this rant...

I don't like to port beg but I would not say no to a switch port of HW with the legends content added in.
Edit: haha vindication!!!!
I like the art style they used for this game.
I think its a combo of higher res on switch and art style
Wow looks so much better! Much more than I expected.
I honestly don't see much of a difference, apart from the obviously different art style.
FE Warriors has a better anti aliasing but I much more prefer Hyrule Warriors art style.
I feel like this should’ve been a November title. Sure, we have Sonic, RER, LA noire, Skyrim, Doom, Batman telltails, (and a handful of others) but I think it would’ve been better off not being released a week before Odyssey
In a year or so hyrule warriors will be ported to switch and I might consider double dipping. But I have really gotten into FE series and I don't know if I will get this, the gameplay overall isn't really my thing either...
and I really don't see a major difference. Especially where it's totally different art styles. Hyrule warriors also has terrible frame rate issues in co-op. I wonder if it is locked 30fps in co-op?
The art style is better but the game looks just ok to me...
I will admit I don't see much difference
But still like the looks of fire emblem
And would love to see hyrule warriors 2 and maybe a remake of the first for the people that have played it yet
Just don't know if I should get fire emblem warrior for the 3ds or not ?
Any way look forward to playing fire emblem on switch
If you really want to compare the 2, compare the New 3DS versions because comparing the Wii U's Hyrule Warriors and the Switch's Fire Emblem Warriors is like comparing a candle to a light bulb.
All this did was make me want a Hyrule Warriors 2.
Glad FE Warriors looks good, might have to change my mind about picking it up.
Fire Emblem Warriors is one of the titles I've been really psyched for coming to Nintendo Switch and its almost here , I wonder how the new 3DS VERSIONS of the two games compare that would be a good comparison.
This is like comparing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 graphics to Xenoblade Chronicles X. One might seem to look "better" but it's mainly art style and lighting.
I, for one, just want to enjoy FE: Warriors without letting the whole "It's missing these old characters, it's not a true FE homage!!" taint my view. After tangling with a particularly tenacious case from the old fanbase, I would love to actually play this one.
@JaxonH The contribution if something looking good, compared to it looking, say blobby because the textures don't work properly is undeniable. That said, in my book, great graphics can't solve crap gameplay, whereas the other-way around is possible (hence why some of these really old games still hold up today)
Well, it's cel shading... so.... not real hard to make improvements with a bit more power. Just sayin...
It looks better, but there is still plenty of dated textures on some shots of the game and, not to mention, this isn't using the new engine the upcoming Dynasty Warriors game will offer
Watching these cutscenes just makes me pine for a FE Awakening 2 on the Switch.
Wow. Quite amazing to see that the Switch ver can do in Handheld what the Wii U did in Home console mode. Good that Koei Tecmo made use of that extra firepower
FEW obviously looks better but HW wasn't the best looking Wii U game to start with, it almost looked like a Wii game in multiplayer.
I'm half surprised there was no Cia/Camilla comparison in this video.
But seriously though, I like Fire Emblem a lot, but Hyrule Warriors bored me. I haven't played many games that have bored me to be honest, but that one sorta did. I'll still keep an eye on this though, especially if they add some more old characters like Roy, Ike, Hector, and Ephraim (my favorite FE character by far!). Gotta admit, the voice acting is a bit of a turn off though, especially coming off of Shadows of Valentia's generally great voice acting.
FE does look a bit sharper but I'm not sure if that's because they used more of a cel shaded style with the characters then the did with Hyrule Warriors. Still, both games look fine in my opinion. FE Warriors is my most wanted Switch game this year after Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey so I'm hyped.
And after looking at Hyrule Warriors again I wouldn't mind seeing a port or sequel on Switch.
Eh, its ok. I mean obviously it would look better, but it seems more due to the artstyle than raw graphical power. In any case, seems to play the same which is nice. Still not sure why they couldnt make the split screen experience better on the Switch though. Still waiting on that HW Port to Switch though.
@OfNullAndVoid Thats my life your summing up
I'm amazed this needs pointing out. Are there still people who think Switch isn't more powerful than Wii U? By every theoretical and real-world measurement it's clearly more powerful. I suppose some people believe the Earth is flat so anything is possible I suppose.
Isn't this comparison more about a different art style than console power?
FE W certainly keeps looking better and batter.
The Fire Emblem Musou character models look a little too plasticy and shiny... Definitely not up to par with the refinements used in the more recent DBZ and Ni No Kuni titles, for instance. Honestly, I think even going back as far as the cel-shaded characters in Dragon Quest 8 on the PS2 were easier on the eyes than this. Technically, the Zelda Musou does not match up to the Fire Emblem one, but I personally think the Zelda one is easier on the eyes, despite the clearly dated models and lack of higher grade anti-aliasing. This is cel-shading gone wrong.
@JaxonH To be fair, there are a lot of classic game fans out there too. Especially on PC. I wouldn't single out Nintendo fans as being special in that regard.
@PlywoodStick
It wasn't necessarily an exclusive statement. It was a response to someone making a smart remark about Nintendo fans, and the response was in defense of those Nintendo fans. PC gamers have nothing to do with it one way or the other.
