However, I agree with what you said. Some of those people have elected to stay behind and post less, and far more on-topic. I could've used a term that is easier to the ears, but I believe that regardless of the term I use, it seems that Nintendo is bent on culling a lot of the off-topic discussion. There are people who admit to using the platform for FNaF role-playing(!)
@Darknyht I'd rather call it the NEPTUNE, and its controller, the NEPGEAR! If you're going to name a console, you may as well reel in Compile Heart and nab yourself a cute set of mascots. NEP = Nintendo Entertainment Platform
Contrary to popular expectations, I believe that this confirms NX to be a handheld, though.
OT: I don't care, just reel in the niche Japanese devs that keep the Vita alive.
Call it the NEPtune, or something, so you could reel Idea Factory in! That's one publisher down. And, yes, I'm aware that it may spell out Nintendo Entertainment Platform.
@rjejr I hate to break it to you, or point it out to you when someone else did, but MK8 already sold more than 5.11 million copies.
This was without a competitively-priced bundle. (3D World and NSMBU/NSLU had them, and actually shipped less life-to-date. Same goes for Nintendo Land despite being bundled in nearly every Wii U nowadays.)
@rferrari24 This is big news, actually. We'll see how Q1 FY2016 pans out.
I believe that hardware is weaker than anticipated, which is a given since this is Nintendo we're talking about, but software outperforms (again), thanks to kids and squids everywhere!
Here's a list of "holes" Nintendo has left unfilled thus far for the Wii U:
Nintendo Wars/Fire Emblem (250k+ sales per entry, probably more due to Awakening): No new efforts
F-Zero/Wave Race/Excite (500k+ sales per entry, probably): Fast Racing Neo and no one else!
Metroid (500k+ sales per entry, more due to HYPE): No new efforts
Rhythm Heaven (250k+ sales per entry on home console): No new efforts, ditto for Elite Beat Agents/Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!
There are more holes they can fill if they actually gave a damn. It's possible to make these sorts of games with small teams (see Shin'en and Fast Racing Neo)
@Quorthon I know you're a developer (if I am to believe some of your prior posts), but come on now.
The developer, in this instance, should have been as transparent as possible, and that is what is riling people up. Fine, you think Wii U is a turd, and is the primary reason behind this event transpiring. I respect that. But, the developer has to answer to the people who funded the development in the first place - which in this case, are the people who Kickstarted the title.
@Grumblevolcano XBOX 360 emulation doesn't even work that well. That is all I'll say on the matter, you'd probably have to drop it too if you don't have an equivalent for the GamePad, and if that goes out the window, say goodbye to your Wiimotes.
@Spoony_Tech True. FE reeled me into the system, Atlus kept me there. I just wish there were more titles like Trauma Team or Radiant Historia, just like back in the DS days. @GrailUK I don't know about Evropa, but we're getting a demo of EO2U this week. Yesterday, supposedly.
Could you post a text transcript of the interview? You know, considering how the audio recording turned out and all, I'm willing to bet some of us might appreciate it.
@Inkling You and me both. As much as it would be utterly ridiculous for Nintendo to support a platform that is dead in Japan, I still want support for my WP.
I'm either more German than you are, which is impossible, or I like trains, which I don't.
I actually had fun with the demo, because it's surprisingly hard to get a train to stop where you want it to be. Actually, it shouldn't be if you have a grasp of physics, but here I am struggling.
I guess I finally get the appeal behind games like Euro Truck Simulator.
@Spoony @Spoony_Tech Huh? You two aren't the same person? I'm having trouble processing this information.
OT: I'd take more risks if I could find a $50 eShoo card where I live. I know I'll milk a lot put of A-Train 3D and that train sim on the 3DS eShop. I'd also take more risks if Atlus stops its ridiculous release schedule. I swear, I'll end up buying more games from Atlus than every other publisher combined this year at this rate.
@Grumblevolcano Nah, I'd wager that it was FF VII that delivered the hype. It was a shame to me, since Square Enix ended up showing practically nothing of note apart from Nier 2 at their own conference...
@bezerker99 "This game will probably do well anyway"
No, it won't. We already have Nintendo Land, Wii Party (with) U, and Mario Party 10 plus the Wii Sports titles. It doesn't appeal much to Animal Crossing fans, either.
Besides, I doubt this'll be sold like Happy Home Designer. It'll be free, most likely.
Iwata should just start retooling Nintendo as a response.
Expand Retro to be able to take on two big projects at once, expand Nintendo Software Technology, have Nintendo ERD help in video optimization and other sorts of things that will make development easier, have more Treehouse-style projects.
Pull off more third-party partnerships (SEGA with Valkyria Chronicles, Koei Tecmo with Nobunaga's Ambition, Capcom with Mega Man. Square Enix with Dragon Quest and Bravely series, Ubisoft with Rayman and Zombi, the list goes on.)
I'm still mad about not getting a Pilotwings for the Wii U.
@Shiryu No, I meant how you could make your text a hyperlink like that. Sorry for the confusion, I ended up staying up last night for the Microsoft E3 conference.
If it makes you feel better, I'd have long since viewed the video by the time you read this~

Re: Yo-Kai Watch Busters and 3DS Continue to Rule in Japan
It's official, Splatoon has done a nice job to nab hardware sales, but the question is what else are those owners buying?
They clearly aren't buying Mario Kart at a fervent pace, and neither are they buying Smash for U, so what's going on?
Re: The Miiverse Redesign Has Gone Live
@rjejr H-hunh?
I assume the screenshot journal would be of great use to you?
Re: The Miiverse Redesign Has Gone Live
@InklingSplat8 I stand firm to my stance.
However, I agree with what you said. Some of those people have elected to stay behind and post less, and far more on-topic.

Re: Muramasa: The Demon Blade And Trauma Team Hitting The Japanese Wii U eShop Next Month
I want both to come.
I hear that, like many good niche games on the Wii, they have high prices on the second-hand market.
Re: The Miiverse Redesign Has Gone Live
@Mus1cLov3r I mean it when certain communities have post quality even lower than the average poorly-run imageboard.
They seem to be the ones affected by the change most.
Re: The Miiverse Redesign Has Gone Live
This will hopefully get rid of much of the undesirables out of Miiverse.
On the other hand...Nintendo is going to lose a few hardware sales next gen.
Re: Wii U Squeezes Past 10 Million Lifetime Sales as Nintendo Remains on Target With Profits
Splatoon really was good enough to secure Nintendo a profit, who knew?
Re: Suda51 Isn't Done With No More Heroes and Travis Touchdown
I want it, but publishers probably don't.

Re: Poll: Where Do You Stand on Miiverse and Its Planned Changes?
I've found that I could only tolerate the Miiverse community on games like nice JRPGs. Games with a rather "mature" audience.
This update is nice and all, but it's not going to fix that.

Re: Nintendo Wins Patent Case Against Handhelds
I'd dismiss this only because the patent is way too broad.
Besides, won't these apply to the PSP and the PSV as well?

Re: If Nintendo Did Decide To Make A Smartphone, We'd Want It To Look Like This
Looks flimsy, unergonomic, and expensive.
I'd rather have something like the PSPgo, as much as people hate it.

There goes any hope of any handhelds.
AMD does ARM, but that's been an utter flop to them, since they aren't exactly...good.
Re: Review: Lord Of Magna: Maiden Heaven (3DS)
I finished this game a month ago...
The game can be summed up in one word, really. Dynasty Warriors turns into an SRPG...with cute elven waifus.
Re: First Impressions: Basking in the Glow of Atlus' Legendary Lineup
Hmm, oddly enough, I'm quite impressed with what I hear with Stella Glow. Not so much with Legend of Legacy, though.
If they weren't releasing around the time Xenoblade X was, it's an easy decision.

@ThomasBW84 Ah, I was hoping that I could just read through the interview, oh well. I'll have to wait until tomorrow morning to watch it.
I wonder what'll happen if you end up getting Iwata himself to come over for an interview.

Re: Devil's Third Will Be Released In North America, Just Not By Nintendo
On one hand, Nintendo of America sucks but at least they keep their localizations faithful, as of late.
On the other hand, XSEED is a far better publisher and localization team than NoA themselves, so I'm happy that this happened.
That said, NoA needs an overhaul.
Re: Video: Take A Drip Down Memory Lane With Game Freak's Second Game, Jerry Boy
Wait, did I really read Sony Imagesoft?
Re: Ubisoft's Former Wii U Exclusive ZombiU Confirmed For PS4 & Xbox One Release
This title certainly won't benefit from lots of people downplaying it on other platforms before this came to light, that's for sure.
Now, it'll have one more headwind - that of Nintendo fans downplaying the release!
It's a shame, the Zombi franchise had potential.

Re: Nintendo Enjoys Success in the Game Critics E3 Awards
@Grumblevolcano Tri Force Heroes debuted at E3, Fates did not.

@LztheQuack No, the competitors are:
Nintendo EAD, Nintendo SPD, Intelligent Systems, Spike Chunsoft and other developers for Nintendo platforms!
Re: Nintendo Has No Plans For amiibo Support In The Legend Of Zelda: Triforce Heroes
The one game that actually makes sense for amiibo support doesn't support amiibo?
Whoa.
Re: Quadcopter Pilot Challenge is Flying Into North America Soon
@AshFoxX I've wanted it since I saw how Affordable Space Adventures handled the GamePad.
You're late

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Attempts To Explain Why Zelda Wii U Wasn't At E3 2015
E3 is the one time of year where hype matters most, and games come later.
You want proof, Reggie?
Sony E3 2015.

@SmoochyTea I expected third-party partnerships. You know, the ones that Nintendo Canada exec teased?
All I got was Skylanders.
Re: Editorial: Cheer Up, There Are Some Exciting Games on the Way
I won't cheer up until the expand Retro Studios, Nintendo Software Technology and Creatures, Inc.
Re: Muppets Creator Responsible For Those Amazing E3 2015 Digital Event Puppets
@garthvader People wanted a game that shows off amiibo, so they wont just be glorified figurine add-ons. People also wanted a Wii U Animal Crossing.
See where I'm getting here?
Re: First Impressions: Linking Up in The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes
I have trouble finding friends to play, so unless there's Download Play or random online multiplayer, I'll pass.
Re: Satoru Iwata Didn't Apologise For Nintendo's E3 Digital Event, Says Reggie Fils-Aime
@rjejr I still remember how Iwata talked at E3 about himself beating Reggie at Smash.
It was hilarious because of how awkward it was at E3 2005.
Re: Satoru Iwata Didn't Apologise For Nintendo's E3 Digital Event, Says Reggie Fils-Aime
@freaksloan I didn't buy it only because it had crappy battery life. If it had better battery life than the GamePad, I would've bought it...

I'm still mad about not getting a Pilotwings for the Wii U.
Re: New Trailer Emerges for Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem
@Spoony Agreed. I wanted a Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei.
Instead, I get something Persona with SMT gameplay. No thanks, if you really wanted this, you could've just ported Persona 5 over, Atlus.
Remember that comment I made earlier about Atlus winning E3? Nullified.
Re: The New 3DS Fire Emblem Will Be Called Fire Emblem Fates In The West
@ShadJV I disagree. If is an awkward-sounding name, and it makes the multiple-route system implementation disappointing.
Fates, on the other hand, is something I'd like to see from a title that gives you two (or three) sides to a story.
Re: RPG Stella Glow Heading to 3DS this Year in North America
YES! YES! YES!
Atlus has won E3!
Re: Feature: What We Expect from Nintendo's E3 Digital Event
I would love to see a game featuring Arino from Game Center CX, please, Nintendo!
It could be, I don't know, a collection of Nintendo titles Arino has beaten before?
You know, for the VC?
Also, Nikki's Travel Quiz, please!

@Shiryu You can link stuff like that here? Wow.
Anyway, thank you. I've been meaning to watch Arino-san ever since I saw him play through Lemmings!
