@Late I'm surprised they haven't released it here, their ¥200 DLC tracks look really nice (if rather difficult-looking).
Or, maybe I shouldn't be, considering that Vocaloid in English looks to be tougher to pull off. Or the mascot herself. Or how difficult some of the tracks look. Or how Rhythm Heaven Fever flopped in the Americas (I blame NoA). And so on and so forth.
I'm looking forward to a good execution of the Vocaloid software for English (and/or other European languages), just how I looked forward to Fates and its Live2D execution.
@Iggly Marth appeared in the anime, and he appears as a costume in Super Mario Maker, so that counts.
I would've rather liked an adaptation of Genealogy of the Holy War rather than Mystery of the Emblem, though. FE4's story is perfect for multiple arcs worth of material, complete with an emotional and climactic ending.
I'll just leave how I haven't watched it, either, lol
@Socar Funny that you say that considering that SEGA admitted they had quite a lot to learn from ATLUS, particularly in the field of quality of games.
It's also as if you don't know just how much Atlus reuses assets and engines between games. (Try the Etrian Odyssey series, or the spin-offs on the DS.)
@Spoony_Tech Sega/ATLUS improved their release schedule lately. Over the past two years, you can expect the localization of a title to be released in America 3-9 months behind its Japanese release.
@Spoony_Tech It would be nice to know that the franchise was actually kicked off by Imageepoch, so it's nice to know they ended up continuing all but in name. The game was released in Japan last year a few months after Stella Glow, by Sega. Now, if they'd just put the #FE team to something we actually want, like a new Radiant game or somewhere where we could perhaps survive a demon apocalypse...
@SMEXIZELDAMAN They didn't even need to reveal that to secure a buy. All they needed to do was to let me know Yuzo Koshiro was the composer and that there was a God Hand.
@Expa0 It's a dungeon crawler with turn-based battles and real-time exploration, if I remember correctly.
@AVahne DQ VIII isn't 3D, and it also doesn't support the stereoscopic 3D. 7th Dragon III: Code VFD is 3D and also dangerously close to crossing the line (I count 4-5 heads from top to bottom)
@retro_player_22 Meanwhile, I'm stuck wanting another Infinite Space from a studio that's basically all but embraced 3D beat 'em ups...
Bayonetta 2 is really fun, though, from what I've played on the demo. And, of course, there's that flop of a lifetime The Wonderful 101 that will always hold a special place in my heart.
@Socar 0.5 million+ including the LE, probably. No digital, but I got a handle on the regular editions combined, which is 430k+ last time I saw it at Dengeki.
@BoilerBroJoe Sorry, by that, I meant that censorship and suppression of freedoms is still doable by entities other than government, though government is often a willing accomplice. Don't believe me? Try looking at our universities nowadays. Or that "oscarssowhite" thing. Or our media, who routinely censor things like the Cologne incident. My own belief is that the original work should be, as much as possible within the constraints of the language. I don't want people to take my work the wrong way simply because some people had to change something so they get paid more.
To be fair, though, I am really considering learning how to read Japanese just so I could try my hand at this translation so I could perhaps see the viewpoint of the localizers. Or, you know, translate something myself.
I recognize, though, that changes can lead to something good, like the English dub of Ghost Stories - so good that it was actually brought back to Japan!
@BoilerBroJoe You're telling me that everyone will agree when there are no dissenting opinions? Thanks for stating the obvious, Joe!
I'd prefer to have those opinions stay. Why, you ask? It's because if your "tolerance" belief is innately superior, then it should win out through ethos and through logos, not just through pathos.
*minor edit - the last sentence flows so much better without "intervention of the state," so I took that out. No other changes to be noted.
@EdJericho I'm just pissed because this being remved because Live2D on the 3DS sounds really cool. Guess I'll be saving $70, I was fine with the three-game split. Or importing a JP copy and patching it with the fan translation. I was going to do that for new Love Plus+ anyway, so may as well.
@sillygostly "Western idiots outraged at Japan sexualizing fictional characters, while sexualizing real children themselves!" I forgot the exact line, but that's how it sounds.
We live in a world where five year-olds get to change their gender on a whim, but sixteen year-olds aren't okay to wear bikinis? Sorry, that was me sighing at what went wrong.

@kshixson Yes, indeed there is not. If that were indeed the case, then shouldn't environmentalists be condemning the building of wind and solar power plants as they do with coal and oil? Granted, I have reasons to do so for both. @PlywoodStick Infinite growth is attainable in theory simply because infinity has no definite value. @Xenocity If I remember correctly, its price point is ¥4700. This follows games like Dragon Quest VIII, which had a mobile version that was probably half the price of the 3DS version yet still sold way over half a million copies.
@Xenocity Wow. I'm very impressed at this haphazard distinction they made. I can't really complain, though. At best, my tastes take up one two-hundredth of the entire 3DS install base (ignoring people who own multiple 3DS units).
Someone who's finished three SMT games over the past year is a casual. Now that's something I don't hear every day.
@faint I gained some respect for Tri Force Heroes when I saw that it was near the top of the poll. Now that I've seen that you don't need to play the game to vote for it, well, it explains why it's up there, that's for sure.
Thank you, if you hadn't brought it up, I wouldn't have known this wasn't a rough approximation of a game's overall success.
@Moon The Miiverse and Monster Hunter audiences don't exactly have a large overlap... And, even then, the core audience on the 3DS has been split between a large number of releases - even more than 2014, really.
@MitchVogel Yo-Kai Watch failed to crack 100k in its first month of sales in America. The marketing certainly isn't helping much, that's for sure.
@faint To my knowledge, Tri Force Heroes didn't even sell well in America in the first place, so I'm not sure why it's up there. I'm pretty sure Yoshi's Woolly World outsold it in its first month according to NPD in America, so that should say something.
@piichan Well, if Marvelous hadn't ended up buying Victor, perhaps we won't be seeing Natsume develop its own "Harvest Moon" titles. Though, if Victor went under, we'll still see this treatment considering how small Natsume is.

So, yeah, they're pretty much in control of the original series and the localization decisions.
Yeah, they should've just acquired Victor when they had the chance. Marvelous taking it over may have been better in the long run, but this damage to the brand name...
@MitchVogel The last project they worked on was PoPoLoCrois Story of Seasons, and was finished a few months ago in Japan. The team currently has no announced projects, as far as I know, and I believe they could be working on two or more projects at once.
Speaking of which, does anyone know when the PoPoLoCrois game gets released here? It's dropped off the radar recently...
I hope the game finds a good reception for itself in Japan. I feel as if the game could actually deserve its own retail release, with a slick art book to make for the price difference, and maybe a copy of the soundtrack too.
Or, maybe utilize the data chip within the amiibo. Haven't people thought of doing this like in Smash?
Like, instead of just unlocking a costume in Super Mario Maker, maybe it could also be utilized to share levels as well without having to bother with the codes. Or, better yet, allow you to import or download all the levels that creator has made.
@Rei Did one come out in Japan or something? I'd be open to that, too, provided the fonts available aren't complete bovine manure.
On-topic: I wonder if they're going to put out a SmileAssembly. SmileBASIC is one of those things I sort of want, though, so I'll get it once I snag an eShop card.
I haven't bought anything that released on the Wii U this year, and I've bought three in the 3DS: SMT DS2: Record Breaker, Lord of Magna (they should've kept the Japanese name...), and Stella Glow.
Of those, Stella Glow is better than Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker, which is waaaaaaayyy better than Lord of Magna. However, I have been eagerly anticipating Project Mirai DX, I hope I get my gift soon...
@Splatburst Don't count on it. They'll have to set up a new engine for this purpose, and they sure as hell won't finish it in a year and a half. Maybe 2017 would be a good target for this, they'll want to...make sure the support conversations at up to par.
@pariah164 SMT battle system with the distinctions between physical attacks finally being put to good use. It's not what I hoped for, but at least I don't have to get a Vita to get this sort of game.
@MitchVogel Please, I've been hoping for a Fire Emblem that truly showcased the Wii U strengths and built upon the strengths of the Tellius games (PoR/RD). Local multiplayer made viable by the GamePad, crazy battles with at least a hundred units taking part (this was done at least once in RD), and tons of crazy stuff happening once the game gets going!
Awakening wasn't it, the three Fates games aren't as well, but I'm holding out hope.
Or, they could just give me what I'm asking for with a remake of Radiant Dawn that addresses its weak points, like how you can't skip animations in your first playthrough or the complete lack of support conversations...
@day I'm looking at amiibo festival and Ultra Smash (though the latter is indeed just a good game lacking on content), and I'm going to say that we should put our foot down and demand we get our money's worth.
That, and their appalling treatment of Fatal Frame 5. And their slightly less appalling treatment of Xenoblade X localization.
@Kaze_Memaryu Believe it or not, Minecraft fanbase has a fairly large overlap with furries. And furries have a fairly large overlap with ERPers. And ERPers need voice chat to...
