Re: Switch Owner Is Reunited With Their Lost Handheld Thanks To Reddit

TheLobster

Nintendo really should add in messaging to the Switch, though! I know they never will, but imagine if you could DM the friends he'd had starred. Super fast way to reconnect without going through Nintendo. Or am I the only person who reserves the stars for people I know irl?

Edit: Maybe only allow DMs to people if both of you have starred each other? Nintendo could find ways to make it safe-ish.

Re: Review: Snipperclips Plus: Cut it out, together! (Switch)

TheLobster

@Nintendoforlife Not at all. I would love an online mode. You just play with your friends and chat over Discord. It would be fun to stream even. If it were only random matchups, then it would be terrible, but as long as the ability to play with people on your friends list was there, why not?

Re: TIME Names the Nintendo Switch Its Number One Gadget of 2017

TheLobster

I must have been very tech savvy this year. I bought a Switch, an S8, and a SNES Classic and I've been satisfied with all of them. However, I really have to give it to the Switch. There just hasn't been a better year-one lineup in gaming history, and its year one isn't even close to over. On top of that it's truly the most innovative thing to hit gaming since maybe the D-pad, or at least analogue sticks. I'm serious, it's changed how I see games at least that much. The fact that I can take any game anywhere has been pounded into my head thoroughly at this point. Whether I'm going on a long car trip across the country or in an airplane or laying up in bed at night or simply going to the bathroom, I never have to stop playing that game I can play on my big screen TV. And I've had some of the best multiplayer experiences, in person and online, that I've had since college (aka the Wii days) on the Switch. I'm not going to call it my favorite console yet, I think that's too soon, but if it can get Jim Sterling to post a retraction then it must be doing something right.

Re: RiME Devs Explain The Difficulty Of Porting The Game To Switch

TheLobster

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I think you're the biggest Negative Nancy on the site (you remind me of the SNL Debbie Downer sketches with your constant Wii U/Switch whining) but there is thinking you are annoying and there is wearing a lower part of your anatomy as a hat. That person crossed the line into the latter. You shouldn't have to deal with crap like that no matter how annoying you are.

Re: Random: When Photoshop Goes Wrong - Mario Kart 8 on a Vita With a GameCube Controller

TheLobster

@Anti-Matter You obviously didn't live through the 80s and 90s when every console was a "Nintendo" no matter who made it... Sega, Atari, TurboGrafx, PlayStation, whatever. All "Nintendos." It's not really a big deal except to kids who get upset over console wars. Everyone else just understood the person saying that was out of touch. Which, I don't know everything about everything either.

Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild's Champions' Ballad DLC is Set for a December Release

TheLobster

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Maybe you spent 475 hours playing but not everyone did. I "only" played for 120. Asking for $20 to cover 150 hours when I paid $60 for 120 seems a bit stupid, no? I think your trouble is you got a bit too obsessed. Even if you want to get 100% completion, that's fine, you have to understand others can get there faster and the devs don't have to cater to YOU.

Re: Poll: Which is the Best Super Mario Game?

TheLobster

My favorite 2D is Super Mario Bros. 3.
My favorite 3D is Super Mario Odyssey.

However for most influential in my life, Super Mario Bros. is the first game I played when I was 3, in 1990. Super Mario 64, in 1996 when I was 8, is what made me a gamer. (My birthday is in December for anyone thinking that doesn't add up.)

Re: Ittle Dew 2+ Begins Its Switch Adventure Very Soon

TheLobster

I think this is one I'll have to see the retail cart come down a bit before I bite. I bought the original on Wii U and enjoyed it but never finished it. Had more to do with the platform than the game.

I have not heard fantastic things about the sequel.

Re: These Are The Nintendo Switch's Million-Selling Games

TheLobster

@JaxonH "And if they continue with a Switch line of casual games I can assure you I will not be buying them."

Interesting because if they came out with "Nintendo Sports Unlimited" (lose the Wii branding obviously) or something along those lines I would buy it in a heartbeat. Wii Sports + HD Rumble? Yes please. Keep the Miis, they were great. It may not have been the greatest game ever but it set the world on fire for a reason.

"Soooonic... when you gonna get maaaarried? When you gonna give me some grandbabies? When you gonna move out of this basement and get a joooob? When you gonna go to cooooolleeege? Soooooonic!"

Re: Random: Switch Game Cards Are Tough Enough To Survive A Spin In The Washing Machine

TheLobster

Now taste it.

As a teenager unused to having a cell phone for the first time, as they were still uncommon back then, mine went through the wash a few times and always came out fine. Of course phones back then were practically analog. I broke my Galaxy S6 (more accurately my cats broke it) a few weeks ago, and my dad goes, "Why are you always so careless with your cell phones?" I was like, "What?" He goes, "First the wash, then you let one get stolen*, then you do this!" All of those incidents took place over the course of almost 15 years. He has quite the long memory, my father. I guess it's proof that you're still always going to be the irresponsible kid in your parents' eyes sometimes no matter what.

(*The time I got it stolen I was actually sexually assaulted and then mugged? So thanks for bringing that up, Daddy, that was a fun thing to be reminded of.)

I never let anything happen to my games however.
