So far the best thing I've cooked was a meal that gave back thirteen hearts and gave two and a fifth extra stamina wheels. I'm not sure how I did it but I did get that extra little jingle on it so it was pretty exciting. I have five hearts right now so... No real reason to eat it just yet.
See, I didn't even think of blindness (funny since I myself am very poorly sighted) but I bought 1-2 Switch because I knew it was a game that many of the games on offer my very arthritic father could enjoy with me. He has been pretty impressed with it and he never plays games.
As a woman living in her parent's... second floor... I can safely say... It's a fold in the fabric people.
Excellent cosplay. I like the one where she is in the woods holding the slate up to the sky to look at it best myself. It seems like something that could be in the game most to me.
I'm happy to hear this. I have a feeling it will do significantly better than the Wii U simply because of this anecdote: my dad was driving me through Wendy's this afternoon as I was playing Zelda when the guy at the window peered into the car and went, "Is that the Switch?" Did you ever in your life hear anyone ask you, "Is that the Wii U?" No. But in my first three hours with the Switch (THANKS FOR THE DELAY, BEST BUY) I ran into someone asking me about it.
No dead pixels, but my wrist straps got stuck to my Joy-cons, and not because they were on backwards. They were legitimately stuck even though they were on properly. I had them unlocked and was doing everything in my power to remove them. Finally I called Nintendo to see if there was some trick I was missing and they were stumped too, so they offered to have me send my Joy-cons in for repair. I said, "No way! I want to play Zelda!" and then said I was going to go get a screwdriver. The poor guy on the phone was like, "Ma'am! We don't recomm-" "Got 'em off!" Anyway he noted the serial number of my console. It's worth noting that I didn't have to force the straps off with the screwdriver, just get enough of an initial shove that the sliding off that they were supposed to do on their own would start.
So, to recap: No repair for stuck pixels, yes repair for stuck wrist-straps, provided you weren't boneheaded and put them on wrong and they actually ARE stuck.
@sillygostly I knew what you meant. But I was saying that of course it DOESN'T not have a camera. In fact. It might be implemented in some interesting ways. We'll have to see!
@Pj1 Best Buy certainly isn't offering any sort of compensation. Not for the lack of Switch nor for the poor treatment (hung up on TWICE) by customer service.
I'm in the US and Best Buy didn't get it to me. It's sitting about five miles away in a shipment center that is closed for the weekend and so I won't be able to play until Monday.
@Marshi Ouch. I know when I had no email about my Zelda yesterday I called GameStop and during the phone call I mysteriously got a shipping notice (and it arrived just past two in the afternoon).
Out of all of my friends, I'm the only one whose Zelda came on time, and whose Switch didn't. It's like some sort of gift of the Magi crap.
@Marshi Sounds like your angry conversation went better than mine. I called Best Buy to complain about my Switch not being here on time and they hung up on me. Twice. Just made me angrier.
I would be much happier if my Switch had arrived at the same time all the GAMES did! I have all these games I'm not EVEN supposed to lick (Zelda, Bomberman, and 1-2 Switch) AND no Switch to play them on. The delivery estimate got updated to Monday.
@Jayenkai If your avatar is your own work, I'm already pretty intrigued. Maybe you can expand on one of those freeware games in your spare time while ALSO working on the other games (gaaaaaaaah gamedevception) and come up with something pretty cool - or you could do a compilation, sell it for a couple bucks, be the next Wario Ware!
I've known about Triforce for what seems like forever (though I did recently learn that I guess that is his legal, possibly birth, middle name, and not just a nickname) but I've only learned about CND in the past month and I do think he seems like a pretty nice kid. Obviously super privileged but hell, that's not really a crime unless some tumblr SJW makes it one.
I heard about this last night via GoNintendo and of course the first thing I had to do was lick my DS and 3DS carts to see if they tasted like anything. Supposedly this originated over on Giant Bomb when Jeff Gerstmann accidentally put Zelda in his mouth for a second. I think it's amazing how one idiot can influence a whole fanbase of other idiots, some of whom never even realized the first idiot exsted.
@capitalism I don't think they were saying this was Nintendo's last chance, merely that it's a huge gamble and they are betting quite a lot by marrying their always successful portable division with their often rocky console division.
That it is Nintendo's most important hardware release really made me laugh, though. Surely the NES/Famicom was a BIT more important in the overall scheme of things? Seeing as without it Nintendo might still be trying to be a taxi company or something?
@gatorboi352 #181 What are you talking about? As per @westman98's link to the Metacritic aggregate, there is one "extremely positive" review, 33 "positive" reviews (including NL's), and 9 "mixed" reviews. No "negative" reviews. I'd say that paints a pretty clear picture. Or, as you would have it, is setting a pretty clear narrative.
Very tempting. I was really into Funky Barn on the Wii U, remember that, er, gem? It was quite good if you didn't pay full price for it. (I got it for $10.) I think in the case of this one I'll wait for your review and if it gets a 7 or higher I'll be seriously tempted but otherwise I'll probably wait for a sale. I am going to be splashing some SERIOUS cash on the eShop Friday as it is.
I've had a bit of an ambition lately of developing a game (I've been working on it a bit) and in the far, far off distant reaches of my hopes and dreams are releasing it on the Switch instead of just iOS and Android, where it frankly belongs. I don't want to be another RCMADIAX. But then, I'm developing all the assets myself, so I hardly could be, eh?
Nobody cares but, I'm buying at least forty of these titles in the first year, and a ton after. To do a copy and paste from above, here are the ones that I will definitely buy:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Fast RMX I Am Setsuna Super Bomberman R Snipperclips - Cut it out, together! Human Resource Machine Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove 1-2-Switch Little Inferno World of Goo Blaster Master Zero Snake Pass (if it reviews well) TumbleSeed (if it reviews well) LEGO City: Undercover Puyo Puyo Tetris Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Constructor (most likely) RiME Sonic Mania ARMS (? on the fence here) The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Splatoon 2 Fire Emblem Warriors Super Mario Odyssey Project Sonic 2017 (Tentative Title) Pikmin (Tentative Title) Dragon Quest X Project Octopath Traveler Dragon Quest XI Seasons of Heaven Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas (if it is what I think it is) Steep Stardew Valley Yooka-Laylee Minecraft: Switch Edition Jackbox Party Pack 3 (if it reviews well) Farming Simulator 18
And that's just what is supposedly up for 2017. I think the Switch is going to have a banner first year, and we haven't even seen E3 yet.
This is really gross. I had a package just a few weeks ago that arrived at my house completely mauled. As in, there was a huge gaping hole in it just patched with clear tape. My address and the shipping label were still there, but literally half of the internal contents were missing. My friend who works for the post office told me that a machine probably ate it, and they found what fell out at the end of the day and yes, auctioned it off. Meanwhile their solution was just to tape a 12"x10" gash shut with as minimal TAPE as possible.
@Dr_Lugae First of all, which government? We don't all live in the same country. Second, that is a terrible idea. I am all for the government helping out with programs such as food stamps and social security, but you can't fix stupid and I don't think Stupid should be something the government should be in the business of sticking its nose into. Its already there enough on its own.
I'd like to hear more on this story as it develops. Who broke the NDA, and how much of a smackdown is Nintendo going to lay on them? What a d--- move. Whoever did this did it simply to harm Nintendo and get his rocks off and feel powerful. No concern for the fanbase. It's literally two and a half weeks until launch. I hope whatever lawsuit he gets slapped with puts his little studio out of commission. (It could be Yacht Club Games and I would still feel this way.) There was no need for this.
Well, try not to mix up WV and KY, or WV and VA for that matter, we're pretty touchy about both around here. Most people forget WV is a state so we figure we're smarter than most folks, we know one more state than they do!
@rjejr Well that makes me pout then. Maybe it's because I'm a West Virginia hillbilly. We start popping out kids round about 16 here. (Totally serious.)

@rjejr Just me! And my mom died nearly 20 years ago now and all my grandparents are gone, no aunts or uncles on either side so obviously no cousins, so it's just us, period.
Yeah, I'm sure you know I've been around since this site was WiiWareWorld, but I just go through spurts of posting when I'm interested enough in the articles to have an opinion.

Anyway they've got at least one sale in me because I've bought a copy. I think I might be able to convince my 78yo dad to play a few of the minigames with me. Definitely NOT Milk, though!
People ask me how many kids I have all the time, and I'm like, "But I'm only 29... Oh wait, that's old enough to have kids, isn't it? OH GOD SOMEONE THINKS I COULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANOTHER TINY HUMAN!!!!" Do people ask men my age how many kids they have or is that a female-only question?
@aaronmclaren Exactly. Nintendo isn't doing anything Sony and Microsoft hasn't done for years. It just makes sense. And The Last of Us was a popular game. Uncharted was a popular series. On a popular console! Sony especially likes that trick. Nobody really complains when they do it. In fact, those games go on to be best-sellers. I hope MK 8 Deluxe (and Splatoon 2) is just as much a best-seller as the other games mentioned.
@Paddle1 True, that's just my opinion. I haven't played MK Wii in the better part of a decade and all I can remember is a strong, strong dislike of it. It is my least favorite Mario Kart. But I was not a fan of the Wii overall (even though I have something like 70 games for it).
@2CUTE4YOU I haven't played Lego Dimensions. I'm afraid to get into another toys to life craze, especially with Lego. But thinking about it, yes, that is a good analog.
I really think the time is ripe, with the launch of the Switch, for them to announce a "Nintendo Infinity" at E3 if they are ever going to. Except unlike Disney Infinity just put out updates to the original game instead of releasing a new iteration every year. That way there would be one game where every amiibo, including all the cards, has a purpose, and those of us with over 100 of the darn things won't feel like we've thrown thousands of dollars away on nothing.
@dereq That's true. I remember a kid moving in next door and her mom asking if I wanted to "play on the Nintendo." We sure had a blast playing Sonic 2! I think that sort of thing was almost sacrilegious to US at the time, but we knew that moms didn't get it.
Seriously, all these pregnant comments. sigh This is why a girl like me can't wear certain tops out of the house without being congratulated. I have sworn off empire waist dresses entirely.
