In recent times Nintendo has been stepping up its efforts with merchandise and tie-ins, including Vans shoes and UNIQLO t-shirts. The latest collaboration is with LeSportsac, a company that makes fashionable bags and cases (or so we're told).
LeSportsac and Nintendo have confirmed a new collection that's hitting Japan in July and other countries in Autumn / Fall; check out some images and PR blurb below.
Holding a treasured place in the hearts of millions, Mario’s adventures have brought him to many strange places, including the far corners of the Mushroom Kingdom and galaxies beyond. Working with Nintendo, LeSportsac took Mario’s passion for exploration and translated it into the brand’s best-selling, on-the-go styles. These include crossbodies, totes, backpacks and weekenders, as well as small cosmetics and accessories that even the Mushroom Kingdom’s most celebrated hero can run away with on his many adventures.
The collaboration features two unique designs created exclusively for the LeSportsac X Nintendo collection. Power-Up Burst is a colorful homage to Mario’s iconic power-up items and classic foes, including Fire Flowers, Super Mushrooms, 1-Up Mushrooms, Super Stars, coins, Goombas and Koopas. The Mario Travel print portrays playful Mushroom Kingdom-inspired travel memorabilia, such as luggage tags, passport stamps and postcards on a bright red background.
Complementing the collection are five additional items, including an authentic pouch shaped like the Game Boy system, a round Piranha Plant pouch, and a Super Mario Bros. cosmetic. All styles will showcase a custom Super Mario coin zipper pull – because it is all about collecting those coins!
The LeSportsac X Nintendo collection launches in Japan on July 19 and will be available in other countries, including the United States, this fall.
Do any of these designs catch your eye?

I never find this stuff nice. Neither were the Vans shoes. The Gameboy backpack I guess isn't too bad but this stuff is more for younger people.
I got a bag like that first one from Club Nintendo.
I... kind of want that Game Boy... thing. Despite the fact it's probably a purse intended for women.
I'm perfectly comfortable in my masculinity and all, but I think carrying a purse around would raise a few eyebrows.
Kawaii desu ne...
I feel like this stuff is intended for future Switch users. I can't foresee anyone who owns a Switch that doesn't already have travel accessories. Nearly essential if you don't want to scratch/thrash the bejesus out of it. That being said, some of these designs are nice, but I already have the BoTW collectors edition Sheikah travel case and the RDS full system travel case. I'm good.
🎵It's Le Sport Sac.🎵

....I'm so sorry.
Weird to see 1985 and not 1983 on there (for me). Even though the US release was in 85 (Europe too?), I feel like the 83 date is stone carved Moses tablets by this point.
not gonna lie that backpack is sick...
@Dang69 What are you referring to...?
@Markiemania95 The SMB 1985 on the first image.
@Markiemania95 BUT ACTUALLY - that sort of makes sense since it is a luggage tag! Shipping out from Japan! Didn't catch that until now.
My wife and my sister are going to want some of these. These are clearly aimed at the folks who wouldn't be on NL on a daily basis.
@Dang69 What does 1983 have to do with SMB in the first place though? It was released in '85 in both Japan and the US.
@Agent721 I'm on nintendo life everyday yet i want that back pack because it looks awesome imo. And I'm a 21 year old dude 😅 i like my fashion especially with a touch of nintendo.
I'd happily add that bag to my uniqlo tees and vans pack
@Sidon_ZoraPrince
Good for you! I just got 2 of the Uniqulos and they're great! And I'm 40!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I'm sorry you don't have any fun in your life. I have a ton of the Vans and get compliments on them all the time, and I just bought one of the Uniqulo shirts. I'm going to be 30 this year.
Totally nabbing that Game Boy pouch too!
That backpack hurts my brain.
@Markiemania95 So...I think I've confused the relase date of Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros for some time now...whoopsie
