Re: Guide: How To Get Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's Coolest-Looking Outfit, The Radiant Set

TheLobster

I really don't like this one either but one of my friends talks it up like it's the greatest thing ever and literally doesn't understand why I wouldn't want this set immediately. He has a bit of a hard time understanding other people have different experiences and opinions than him, though. Anyway, I've known about this armor set for a couple of weeks, but I'm beginning to really agree with the people who are irritated by the "spoiler" images. You guys used to have funny stock images of things like Pikachu that you posted over and over as a joke on certain articles to be funny. Perhaps it's time to come up with a stock BotW image to post on all the articles like this to be courteous instead? @Damo Good idea bad idea? Then it really IS their fault for clicking on the article that says SPOILER or GUIDE in the title.

Re: The 3DS is Six Years Old in the Americas, How Time Flies

TheLobster

I love my 3DS, I love it so much I bought three of them over the years. I was one of the crazies who bought one on launch day, then a few years later I got the Animal Crossing XL version, then just over a year ago I picked up a regular sized New 3DS when one I liked became available in the States. I have never bought more than one iteration of a console before, so yeah. I really like the 3DS. I have over 70 physical games for it and at least 50 download games. It was some good times. I've been playing my Switch like mad since that came out, but that doesn't mean I'm not still looking forward to titles like Ever Oasis. I think the NEW 3DS still has some life to it - but not a long life.

Re: Nintendo of America Says to Check Retailers as More Switch Stock is On the Way

TheLobster

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I notice you didn't reply about what sort of TV you watch. As for those links, I would say that is "regional availability" not quite nationwide. The whole east seems to be sold out, for example. Since Ireland is a small country though, I can't imagine it's hard to get in a car and drive elsewhere, though to my understanding you lot don't drive as much as us Americans.

Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild Has Almost One-To-One Attach Rate According To GameStop

TheLobster

I am quite happy with my Switch and have contributed not only to the high attach rate of BotW, but also that over 5.5 attach rate for games in general (though not via GameStop). I have seven games total for my Switch (four retail; one of those is an import) and I have six more I want on my eShop wishlist. However as you might expect buying a new console and seven games has run me a bit dry so I'm hoping for a sale soon. Or some kind soul to give me an eShop card 8 months before my birthday.

Re: Nintendo of America Says to Check Retailers as More Switch Stock is On the Way

TheLobster

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I know Ireland is a small country but most of us doubt your ability to go through every store and visually check as it seems you are claiming you have. People in different parts of the country are just saying stock is different where they are. If it is available nationwide, take some pictures nationwide. Put up or shut up.

As for not seeing an ad on TV, well how much TV do you watch? And what type of programming? Both of those are going to affect whether or not you see a Nintendo ad. I've seen 'em. Of course I'm in the States but if I've seen them, who watches less than an hour of TV a week, they are running them.

Re: Super Mario Run is Now Live on Android

TheLobster

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Eh, the two pounds more is just politics. Sorry. I'm sure The Donald will screw up soon enough and prices will go up for US gamers as well.

I might get this when I'm done with Zelda. Which I'm just stalling on being done so that might be sooner rather than later, actually. Friggin' stealth missions.

Re: Editorial: After The Bold Brilliance Of Breath Of The Wild, Where Can Zelda Go Next?

TheLobster

@YorkshireNed Yes I agree. I love OoT but MM is an amazing game that did amazing things. If they developed a "MM"-style game in BotW's engine, we could maybe see another game in two years that has this same expansiveness, but is more intimate and compelling. Maybe not as epic a story, but something wild and out there. Maybe set it in Termina again, or somewhere else small we haven't been in a while like Koholint Island!

Re: Editorial: After The Bold Brilliance Of Breath Of The Wild, Where Can Zelda Go Next?

TheLobster

BotW is going to be a tough act to follow no matter what. Bear in mind that it took five years to make. I'm not sure I can deal with Zeldas only coming out every five years. We probably will get a top down 2D Zelda next, and more than likely it will be on the Switch and not the 3DS. But will it be a "core" Zelda? Probably not. That's what is going to make the Switch weird. Having this massive game on it and then these tiny related games.

Re: Guide: How To Beat Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's Hardest Shrine Quest, Eventide Island

TheLobster

I haven't done this shrine yet but I have listened to my friend do it over Discord as we played together and the funniest part was when he said, "You know, it would really suck to get a blood moon while I'm out here," and then not five minutes later he went, "Oh crap! It's a blood moon!" I laughed so hard. He hadn't done any of the Divine Beasts yet or a lot of shrines so he found it really hard and he told me to stay away. I'll do it in a few days, I guess. That's the only section of map I haven't uncovered.

Re: Developer Survey Reveals Worrying Lack Of Interest In Nintendo Switch

TheLobster

This would be more concerning if we didn't know Nintendo was heavily curating the content. I am quite happy with my Switch, I already have seven games for it, with another four on my eShop wishlist for when I can afford them, so it's not like the content isn't already there. (Of course the only game I've really PLAYED is Zelda, but I will finish that eventually and I will need something to play after.) I think that Nintendo is probably "curating" a bit too heavily, but with the hype and initial sales of the thing, they can maybe afford to at this time. There are totally people like me dropping loads of cash on multiple games out there already, supporting the developers that ARE on the system.

Re: Nintendo Is Doubling Production of Switch Units

TheLobster

Welp, I see everybody is arguing about Ireland again. At least it's St. Patrick's Day, so it's topical. I'm sure an island with a population of four and a half million people is completely relevant and a predictor of future success for all of Nintendo. That's almost as many people as live in Louisiana. How is the Switch doing there? It's just as relevant.

Meanwhile the whole point of the article, that Nintendo thinks it can ship 16 million units in a year, is totally ignored. Well, I say good for Nintendo. You think that. Maybe you can even sell that. I would guess 10 million but what do I know? I don't live in either Ireland or Louisiana.

Re: Sonic Mania Has Been Delayed Until Summer

TheLobster

I pre-ordered the CE but I got it on PS4 because it was long before the Switch was fully announced so the game was not even listed for it when I pre-ordered. Bummed that I will not be able to SWITCH my copy over. I've been trying to do so for a few weeks now. I guess I will be double dipping as I am not really keen on playing on PS4 anymore but I do want that sweet, sweet CE loot.

Re: Site News: A Massive Thank You To All Our Viewers On YouTube

TheLobster

Hello there lovely people! I just want to say that sentence never fails to put a smile on my face no matter how crappy my day has been. Alex, you really are a treasure. Congrats on 100,000 and here's to 100,000 more.

Btw I think there are people who think NintendoLife IS Alex's videos, lol.

Anyway be sure to give that subscribe button 100,000 thank yous and stay tuned to Alex for all sorts of wacky antics! Buh-bye!

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U)

TheLobster

Most of my friends (who have BotW) have the Switch version and we've all been playing it together, but my best friend has the Wii U version and as far as I can tell there is not a thing different between the two except that she can't take hers to the theatre like I did or to a doctor's office or play it two floors away from where her Wii U is located (but she lives in a one bedroom apartment unlike me who lives in a two storey house with a basement to boot so it's a totally different situation). Other than that it is exactly the same and even really looks the same, perhaps a tad fuzzier, but I tend to play in portable mode (if taking it to the theatre wasn't a tip off) so there's not really much difference there.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U)

TheLobster

@gatorboi352 I only had one instance of slowdown when fighting an enemy on the Switch version in over 70 hours so far, and that was at the base of a tower that was surrounded by Ganon Goo (TM) so I think it was Due to the Goo (TM).

@Superzone13 I am definitely picking up the Wii U version once my funds recover a bit from all this Switching. You aren't the only one.

Re: Random: Check Out This Travel Nintendo Switch DIY Dock

TheLobster

@Kayfios I think they may or may not. It's hard to tell. They shut down fan made stuff all the time.

@Alshain01 There is. I haven't had dock scratching problems either (@SmoochyTea) but there are already people capitalizing on the so called controversy with those covers that were mentioned in another article. I too have an Etsy shop and I think that's a brilliant idea so I bought one not because of scratching problems but because I thought it was cute! You can bet those won't get shut down because tons of people are making them and there are no logos involved.

Re: Guide: Protect Your Nintendo Switch On The Move With These Carrying Cases

TheLobster

@TheOneInYellow The bigger one (Multiplayer Pro) would be really nice to have when I go on vacation or something, and I'm taking the dock with me. Very fancy. Also very expensive.

I'm using my Sheikah Slate case for now and really loving it. It can fit quite a lot inside it, including the Switch and two Joy-cons (obviously), twelve cartridges, two wrist straps, the Joy-con grip, and a spare battery and USB-C cord. I could probably fit a pair of ear buds in there as well if I used them.

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th March (North America)

TheLobster

@_ijin You missed the opportunity to say, "Bummer, man." 0/10

Actually, while this is a fantastic week, I am all out of monies. My weekly bank app said I spent over $1000 last week after all the Switch stuff came in, plus other expenses. I can't afford that sort of output every week.

Re: Nintendo Switch Owners Will Have To Wait Longer And Pay More For RiME

TheLobster

Welp. I want this game a lot, but not $10 extra a lot. I will simply wait for a price drop. Third party games on Nintendo systems don't stay expensive for too long (though certainly longer than they do on other systems). What, two months extra and that $10 fee will be at least $15 down.

It's not like RiME is Zelda and it simply MUST be played DAY ONE. Ffs I payed $130ish for Zelda once shipping was factored in (I bought the Master Edition) and I still feel like I got my money's worth.
