Re: Gallery: Here's A Look At Pokémon FireRed And LeafGreen On Switch

ThatOneLevel

@Maxz To me, it peaked at gen 5. I loved the moving sprites they made for all pokemon in battle and the overworld. Unlike Legends Z-A people in the city moved and rode bicycles and would get out of your way if you walk into them. They could have evolved the artstyle by doing HD-2D as well.

Same with Mystery Dungeon. Explorers of Sky was the peak (in more than graphics) as well. I didn't like it when the 3ds Mystery Dungeons had 3d models.

Re: Dispatch Dev AdHoc Responds To Nintendo's Statement, Says It Intends To Address Censored Switch Content

I don't get the complaints over nipples and privates being censored in this game. The internet has plenty of it you can look at.

Perhaps you should have complained during the days when the localization censored something in Xenoblade X and the Fire Emblem games and people didn't care because it censored something they didn't care about. Now it's affecting something you care about but it's too late now.

Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Moves In On Switch 1 This April

The game looks amazing! The amount customisation options is insane. I loved the 3ds Tomodachi Life, so I was always hyped about this.

Nice that they added LGBT+ options for those who are LGBT+, don't know why anyone is complaining about it when they can just choose to not use those options. Too bad there is no concert hall from the 3ds Tomodachi Life though.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade?

ThatOneLevel

@BustedUpBiker As much as I love XC3, I would recommend they start with XC1, then XC2, XC3, then XCX as they are all on Switch 1 and 2. While XC3 can be played alone, XC3 has a lot of references to XC1 and XC2 making certain moments in XC3 hit a lot harder if you know XC1/XC2's story since it is the last of that storyline. XCX is a separate storyline, so next game could be XCX2.

All Xenoblade games are great is just what I'm saying, but it is best to play them in order imo.

Re: Review: Pokémon Legends: Z-A: Mega Dimension (Switch 2) - Repetition Takes The Shine Off

ThatOneLevel

@Buizel It was generally accepted and predictable back then. Some people could wait until the third version of the generation to come out and buy it. The cost was also cheaper. $40 for the third version plus $40 for the first one. Now its $70 for the main game (Switch 2), $30 for the DLC. DLC used to be $20 as well.

Well, again, the third version of Pokemon was predictable, so people already knew it was coming. I don't recall other games doing other than the enhanced editions and remakes for the next console generation. Announcing DLC before the game comes out makes you wonder why they didn't delay the game and release it completed with that DLC in the game already.

Gamefreak isn't going to come out and say "yeah, this DLC we are releasing later is already done." In only 2 months they were able to create everything in the DLC? All of the art, coding, modelling, coming up with new megas, composing the music, writing, and translations? I doubt it.

@Buizel Back then, it was done (most of the time, I know not always) to port the game to other console generations or handheld game > console. They added content to give people a reason to double dip if they already bought the game in the previous generation.

They also didn't announce they would be releasing the same game with more content later on before the game released. Pokemon Z-A announced the DLC before the game even came out.

They also didn't cut content that was completed already from their games to add later on in a later release. You can't tell me the Pokemon Z-A DLC wasn't already done, the amount of reused assets is immense. I'd say the Donkey Kong Bananza DLC was already done as well. It released way too quick

Re: UK Charts: Kirby Is Nowhere To Be Seen In A Quiet Week

ThatOneLevel

@TheWokesterGamer The "PSC" is a typo, it is supposed to be "PC". In the article it says "Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition has seen the biggest jump in numbers, going from 24th last week to 6th this week; most of those sales have come from the PC and PS5 versions, but the Switch 2 release has pulled in a solid 9% of sales."

There is a physical copy for PC, but only for the original, not the "Ultimate Edition" and I doubt the physical version still sells for new. Ultimate Edition on PC is the original game + Phantom Liberty. It was 50% off this week, so maybe that is why it saw a huge bump in sales

I don't know why it is counted for this week's chart since it is suppose to be physical only I thought.

Re: Nintendo Had No "Intention To Hinder Or Invalidate" Third-Party Docks For Switch 2

ThatOneLevel

I get that it is convenient to have multiple docks if you have multiple TVs and the official dock is expensive, but I just wouldn't risk buying a third party dock for a $449 or $499 console that could potentially get bricked.

I only got one dock and I just move my dock to the other TV if I want to use that TV. It is a pain with all the wires from my other consoles are all over the place, but it is what it is.

Re: Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted Rolls Out More Updates, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

ThatOneLevel

@KoopaTheGamer I know bugs existed since the beginning of gaming, but you usually had to look for them. If you were just playing the game normally without trying to break it, you wouldn't run into major glitches unless you're playing Sonic 2006.
it just feels like devs release games before they are finished and then fix the bugs later just because they can. Instead of hiring game testers, they make the consumers the game testers.

Re: Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted Rolls Out More Updates, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

@Styledvinny79 The update isn't out on Switch 1/2 yet. The patch notes says the update released on PC November 3rd and consoles will get it in a few days. In the Switch section of the patch list, it says "We are aware that Switch patches have been lagging behind other platforms and taking longer than expected to release. This is due to certification timelines and we intend to release them as soon as possible. " So Switch 1/2 will get it later than other consoles.
