@michellelynn0976 "The Switch 2 takes over $400 to manufacture."
No, I don't think so. Same with the game carts they are over charging for developers and hence why the "game key" option. Memory is super cheap to make these days but Nintendo is trying to nickle and dime everyone. Why do you think Android devices are cheaper but can run at Apple iPad speeds. When you mass produce technology, the prices drop for manufacturing. Kind of like buying bulk at Sams Club if we were to compare groceries.

@Skunkfish Look, I'm not saying that low power console can not be fun or anything like that. My top three favorite consoles of all time are the SNES, N64 and Gamecube. I'm just saying that Nintendo has become Apple and delivering low power tech at a much higher price. These things are not as costly as a non-mobile consoles or desktops and cheap to make.

I really don't care for MK8. The car physics are just not that great. Feels like I'm just gliding through the course. The AI is not that competitive. I'm constantly getting hit but keep getting 1st place without even trying. Graphics look great but that's about it. I have tried this game a few times but just bored while playing. Double Dash is still my favorite Mario Kart game.

@Dan420 Inflation for electronics is not the same. Electronics are cheaper now than they ever have been.

For example... I 55" inch TV in the 80's or 90's would have been very expensive. You can buy a 4K 55" TV now for $250 USD.

Another example... Low budget PIIi PC cost about $1500 in 2000. I purchased one then. Buy a low budget PC now for about $300 USD.

Hence why game then cost $50 to $60 bucks as they do now. Some are higher then and now. But to the point of your $20 Select / Player's Choice game costing $40 now is not true when games then were sold for $50 to $60 USD then. Game development is done usually through game making apps now as compared to ASM or C code. Faster and easier.
