Got my pre-order in! So looking forward to this. Been waiting since last year but it got delayed a couple of times. Hopefully that means this is a solid release then. Either way, it looks fun.
I will not be purchasing a Switch 2. I have the previous Nintendo systems and PC gaming options such as Steam and GOG. N64 and Gamecube are my favorite but I also enjoy current games on the Switch.
@cvrator Zelda Breath of the Wild did the same texturing wise or lack thereof and had a lot less planted in its open world. I think they have done much better in the Shire game than Nintendo did.
I really don't care for MK8. The car physics are just not that great. Feels like I'm just gliding through the course. The AI is not that competitive. I'm constantly getting hit but keep getting 1st place without even trying. Graphics look great but that's about it. I have tried this game a few times but just bored while playing. Double Dash is still my favorite Mario Kart game.
@Dan420 Inflation for electronics is not the same. Electronics are cheaper now than they ever have been.
For example... I 55" inch TV in the 80's or 90's would have been very expensive. You can buy a 4K 55" TV now for $250 USD.
Another example... Low budget PIIi PC cost about $1500 in 2000. I purchased one then. Buy a low budget PC now for about $300 USD.
Hence why game then cost $50 to $60 bucks as they do now. Some are higher then and now. But to the point of your $20 Select / Player's Choice game costing $40 now is not true when games then were sold for $50 to $60 USD then. Game development is done usually through game making apps now as compared to ASM or C code. Faster and easier.
LOL! Nintendo chose magnets for the Joy-cons instead of Hall Effect sticks so you would have to spend more money when your sticks start drifting. Proof that Nintendo is money grabbing at every point of the Switch 2. Well, drifting will be easy in Mario Kart.
What world is DK in? Honestly, this game doesn't look good to me at all nor look like a DK game. This newer graphic style used here and in the last two Zelda games do not appeal to me what so ever. I miss the days of rich color, well designed games of RARE.
Nintendo could have easily added a normal PC style mouse via bluetooth for the Switch and Switch 2. Could have even made a Nintendo branded mouse. The Joycon as a mouse looked weird to me from the start.
Everyone who were saying that $400 to $500 USD was ok for the Switch 2 before release and Nintendo was like, OK!!! We will also raise the prices of games too. Reap what you sow, peeps. Meanwhile in Japan, Switch 2 is $330 USD (conversion rate).
@Jack_Goetz Playing since the NES. My favorite 3 systems are the SNES, N64 and Gamecube. Great console and controller design and game library for all 3. I also like having wired controllers as you don't have to charge them. Although I do enjoy the motion controls for golfing on the Wii and Switch.
@Zequio LOL! Yep, you were right. Sucks for me though. That's too high. That's ok though. I still enjoy the current Switch. Just wish Gamecube could of been added to it.
It's a Switch with mouse support. I think they could of added mouse support via bluetooth on the Switch and used a real mouse. But anyway. I guess it will be cool that it is more powerful?
@Zequio Me too. And my thinking is not only the past increases but the Switch and Switch 2 are not your normal consoles like the past or PS5 or XBOX but mobile. And low power mobile chips are cheaper than say, for example, a desktop PC compared to an iPad. At least that is how I compare it. The PS5 is going to be more powerful than the Switch 2 and therefor the higher price. If Nintendo gets up to that range in pricing then it needs to be more powerful. It's basically an iPad with joy-cons.

Booo!!! Diddy Kong Racing would be nice!

@Anti-Matter Yep! It's available as a pre-order on Amazon.
Re: Locomoto Lets You Become The Cutest Train Conductor On Switch This June
Oh!!! Now this looks nice! I enjoy train games and this looks different than most.

@cvrator Have you seen, LotR on PS2? Much simpler graphics than this.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 6 Has Been Delayed And Will Now Launch In May 2026
A game for those who love sinning. Strange. Doesn't belong on a Nintendo console. I don't think anyway. But everyone loves money more than morals.
Re: Video: Here's Another Look At The Lord Of The Rings 'Tales Of The Shire' Game
So been waiting for this game. Wasn't happy when it got delayed but that just means a better release.
Re: Video: Nintendo Shares More Footage Of Zelda: Wind Waker For Switch Online
Too bad we didn't get this on Switch. No interest in the Switch 2. Too pricey.
Re: Poll: After One Month, How Often Are You Actually Using 'Nintendo Today'?
Like I need another app on my device to drain the battery. I see Nintendo news via the Switch and Youtube.

Still no Smurfs? Smurf haters!!!
Re: New Story Of Seasons: Grand Bazaar Trailer Is As Wholesome As They Come

Re: The Grinch: Christmas Adventures
One of my favorite games on the Switch. It's fun and quirky.
Re: Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Now Boasts 300 Playable Titles
Be nice if Nintendo brought the Gamecube library to Switch as I'm sure you're paying the same yearly price be it Switch or Switch 2.

@solarwolf07 "eShop Selects." It's in the title. Just reminded me of Nintendo Selects.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects (March 2025)
Remember Nintendo Selects / Player's Choice? The old days when Nintendo didn't nickel and dime you for everything.
Re: Random: Nintendo Nearly Parked Mario Kart: Double Dash's Dual-Driver Hook
Best Mario Kart to date. Love the graphics, tracks and gameplay.
Re: Talking Point: Does Switch 2 Have Nintendo's Best Launch Line-Up Ever?
@dazzleshell Cool! You're also the 64th post. But I agree. N64 was the best. Mario 64 and Pilotwings 64.
Re: Random: Of Course Nintendo Fans Are Already Camping Out For The Switch 2
I take it that there are parents who are supporting their adult children and this strange behavior. It's just a console. Not a cure for cancer.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Zelda: Breath Of The Wild On Nintendo Switch 2
@CStallion Yes, but it doesn't effect those in Japan.
Re: Nintendo Delays Switch 2 Pre-Orders In The US Amidst New Trump Tariffs
@Jireland92 It says, "potential impact of tariffs." So it does not look like they even know if there is going to be an impact or not.

Re: First Impressions: Nintendo Switch 2 'Wows' Most When You Go Back To Your Old Switch
Currently fine with the Switch. Looking forward to the Analogue 3D. Switch 2, way too pricey. Plus I don't need 4K or 120 FPS to enjoy gaming.
Re: Donkey Kong Country Artist Shares His Thoughts On Kong's New Design
His design is fine but the world they put him in was not expected. Not sure what I think about that.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Launches 5th June 2025, Mario Kart World Bundle Confirmed
Nintendo charging $450 console and $80 game for an iPad console is crazy. PS5 is more powerful and only $400 with bundle currently. I'll pass for now.
Re: Switch 2 Predicted To Cost "$400 Or More"
@Zequio That's for sure. I still have to finish Skyward Sword.

Switch already gives the news. Why another app on your phone to drain it even faster?
Re: 'Tales Of The Shire' Video Shares More Info On New Tolkien-Inspired Farming Sim
Yep. Been waiting for this to release. I hope it gets a physical release.
Re: Deals: Waiting For A Good Deal On 1TB+ Micro SD Cards? This Might Be It
Nah. Physical releases for the Switch 2. Learned my lesson last time. I don't like purchasing something and not really owning it.
Re: ICYMI, Yes, A Blood-Soaked 'Terrifier' Game Is Coming To Switch
@Ralizah LOL! Then I would have to purchase them first. Better money spent elsewhere.
Re: ICYMI, Yes, A Blood-Soaked 'Terrifier' Game Is Coming To Switch
@Elbow I disagree. It's now a perversion for those who love blood and violence. Gaming is something quite different.
Re: ICYMI, Yes, A Blood-Soaked 'Terrifier' Game Is Coming To Switch
This is no longer video gaming. This is sick and not in a good way. Somebody need a therapist? I prefer family friendly Nintendo games.

Re: Sakurai Says Japanese Developers Should Avoid Trying To Appeal To Western Tastes
Feel free to create what you will but honestly, not in to anime at all and those 100% Japanese title, not for me. They just seem strange.

@Zequio Not young. Been playing games since the Atari 2600 but anyway, we will see when Nintendo announces it.
Re: Switch 2 GameCube Controller Rumours Resurface Following New Nintendo Filing
The Gamecube controller should be the main controller for the Switch 2 anyway. Perfect controller for gaming.
