But wait, what's this!? My wallet, it won't open! It's like the tightly clenched fists of Olympus refuse to let me enter! It just tells me "do not buy trash".
@Preposterous Maybe if their "not Pokemon" games had better or even any advertisement people would be more interested.
"From the Pokemon guys" is a massive selling point, but that doesn't matter if nobody knows the game exists. Heck, even Tembo, probably their most marketed game as of late (aside from Pokemon of course), it took me quite a while to realise it was from Game Freak because their name basically didn't come up in any of the marketing I came across.
@Trajan Most people do have a better relationship with their friends than family though. That's just the reality that we don't live in a cartoon aimed at 2 year olds or an American sitcom.
I'm lucky enough that I do have a decent relationship with my (immediate) family. I know that many of my friends don't though and for the most part they're absolutely justified in their negative view of them.
Even saying that, you don't pick your family but you do choose your friends. It means a lot more when you can trust the latter just as much as the former because family is almost obliged to be there and be nice (though many didn't get this memo), friends do it because they genuinely want to.
At any rate, maybe take 2 seconds to think about other peoples circumstances before you just throw out as a blanket statement that everybody who chose friends over family is horrible. You might have a perfect relationship with your family but many others don't.
Here's a novel idea to take the """stress""" out of buying:
Rather than implementing a ridiculous fee, regardless of how little it costs (again, like the Switch online, I don't care that it's "only" $XX.XX), why not just take pre-orders with a deposit up until the time comes to actually print them?
I'm no expert, but surely that's a way to ensure you sell practically every copy you have in stock as well as providing to everybody who wants one, thus removing this "stress".
@Heavyarms55 To be fair, its Nintendo's own fault that "port" has become a dirty word. They went for so long not relying on third party ports (basically from the N64 to the Wii U), now it's seemingly like they're expecting third parties to carry the system for them. I wouldn't mind a port of a few games in that list, but the moment I hear "Switch port" I still roll my eyes and wonder what trash is coming to the console this time.
A majority of 'exclusives' are just Wii U ports that at least some of us have already played.
The store is littered with far too many indies with more constantly popping up before we have a chance to even play the few that interest us
AAA third parties are just shoving games on it regardless of whether it's a 'decent' playable port or not
This rubbish online subscription is constantly adding NES titles (that I personally don't care about).
It's just all ports.
With all that aside, Nintendo has released what in 2018 to 'compensate'? All I can think of is Smash Ultimate. They've got multiple studios alongside the past couple of years development time and we get a single exclusive (that I can think of) in a year? The 3DS has had more support from Nintendo than the Switch has this year.
Again, I don't mind decent ports, but we're not really getting the good exclusive content many actually bought the system for in the first place either. I feel Nintendo has gotten a bit lazy with the success of the Switch, not helped by the fact they're continuing to counter intuitively develop for a system that basically fulfils the same purpose and rivals their own system (the 3DS). I imagine another failure next gen, much like the Wii U, Xbone and PS3, where each manufacturer was way too overconfident with their previous success and received a critical fail in return.
@RagoxHatena What was there to really spoil anyway? Nintendo themselves have already told us basically everything about the game already, not including the fact that we've already seen a a majority of what the game has to off by proxy of it basically being a 'best of...' title.
@rjejr Or just do something similar to what the games already do...Though many (myself included) don't really care and just spam 'A' through all the dialogue:
random place is experiencing some sort of 'natural crisis' (tremors, storms, whatever)
A group of hunters are sent to investigate
Hunt down a couple large monsters, the last of which gives exposition on the 'main' monster that is really causing the natural crisis
They turn the previously hunted monsters into new gear in preparation to hunt this 'big bad mo'fo', maybe hunt one more cool monster to make a special weapon of some sorts (never a requirement in the games, but sounds like a 'movie thing').
Hunt the 'main monster'. One from a game or an original for the movie, whatever, they just hunt it. Maybe after they think they've "killed it", the monster transforms into a second form.
Everybody drinks with cats in celebration.
No after credits teaser because it's the first movie. No first movie should have the cheek to have an after credits teaser.
By no means is that a script for the greatest movie (n)ever to be made, but it's a lot better and more faithful to the source material than the steaming pile of tripe they're ACTUALLY making.
@subpopz It's hardly foolishness. They're indie devs, it's a bigger risk for them to put out a mass amount of copies that aren't guaranteed to sell compared to a AAA publisher who can put out enough copies for everybody with some to spare.
Especially with it being an indie title. So many people will give it a pass solely because of that, with that biennial attitude some people have of indie developers not being real developers and only supporting already successful "AAA" companies.
@MrGawain That's all well and good...If we ignore that 'Devils Third' was a Wii U exclusive with quite a bit of marketing behind it and featured a tattooed gun toting protagonist.
@kirbygirl I find it helps to not be overwhelmed by having not ignored everything outside of Nintendo for the past few years.
There's a lot of good indie titles on the Switch, but I've already played through them elsewhere, making it difficult to legitimately call the Switch versions part of my backlog unless they've added something significant (which most don't).
There's a middle ground between too much and too little.
Too much and people are going to miss new releases they would have potentially loved because they're quickly buried underneath a ton of other releases, typically not all of which are of even average quality. This is what we call 'saturation' (google it).
Too little and the obvious happens, people want to spend money but there's just nothing new to throw it at.
Steam is a prime example of 'too many games'. Partially this is due to the release of PC2 being way overdue, saturation an inevitable thing for a platform as it ages. Steam in particular having the issue because Valve just let just about anything and everything up on the store, flooding the market.
Nintendo however seem to have seen indies selling well and are in the process of opening the friggin' floodgates with dollar/yen signs in their eyes, apparently oblivious to the fact that indies were doing so well because it WAS a fresh platform and HAD a decent amount of quality control on the eShop.
I'll pick this up for sure. One of my top 5 favourite anime being developed by one of my favourite studios...
BUT I can't help but feel that if a Kill La Kill game is going to be a thing, having it be a 1v1 fighter is a missed opportunity (It's Arksys, I'll be surprised if it isn't).
I'm not a massive fan of them, but it's one of the few times I would have said being developed by Platinum or a similar studio would have been great. Kill La Kill feels like it would translate very well into a Platinum style action game.
@GammaPhonic Yea, but that's all a lot of people want. Having emulators for a plethora of old consoles on the Switch would make it so much more desirable to people.
What makes me laugh though is when people throw a hissy fit about this kinda stuff which allows that whilst Nintendo continue to drag their feet to release anything from their backcatalogue on the eShop...Then charge £5+ a pop when they finally do release something.
@gortsi God of War is currently sitting at 95. As I said, you're factually wrong.
It's still a week till its release, true, but reviewers have already gotten their review copies and Sony have allowed reviews to go up, so it's fair game.
Let me guess, you only follow user reviews, right?
Though lets ignore that for now, if we're going by your cherry picking logic of what does and doesn't count, the Switch has only a single exclusive game in its library that is rated above 90%: Mario Odyssey. Practically everything else 90+ is a Wii U game, which as you said for Persona 5 being on PS3, means by your own logic they don't count. The rest are multiplatform, which as you said for Nier Automata, don't count.
Suddenly the Switch seems like a waste of money, having only 1 high rated exclusive game in its entire library to justify the £300+ pricetag...Maybe you should think more before creating self defeating rules and regulations, because you're kinda making the Switch look bad.
And why do I name platforms? Well, since you're going to defend your opinions by assuming my preferred platform, "Push square is over that way", I'm just going to throw out that no, not everybody that disagrees with you is a mindless fanboy of a bit of hardware.
@gortsi I play PC more than anything, also own PS4 and Switch, so I don't particularly care about your little high and mighty Switch circle jerk since I'm not exactly pledging an allegiance to a single platform. You can continue to imply I'm a Sony fanboy all you want, it doesn't make you any more correct.
I'm simply stating, you are factually wrong. Deal with it and move on.
@Bengals76 Granddad, what have I told you about the internet!? Nobody cares about your dated views on the world! Put your special slippers on and sit in your comfy chair!
First I've heard of the game. Will pick up a copy for the sake of having the rest of the franchise in physical form...Don't really care for tag fighters, "rwby" or Persona (or whatever the 'other' thing was, I guess)
Shame they couldn't have just released Central Fiction on Switch...Or just a new sequel.
Not that the game doesn't look alright. The backgrounds look so much better than even Central Fiction, but..Eh...It's 'pre-Alpha', so I guess I'll ignore that it doesn't look as flashy as I expect from Arc, or that the animation seems a bit stiff, or it looks a tad slow...For now, unless that turns out to be 'the final product'...
Oh, wait, sorry, it's being released on a Nintendo platform (probably alongside the usual PS4/Xbox One/PC, but lets ignore that), therefore I'm not allowed to have any sort of doubt or criticism whatsoever. Nintendo rules all, etc etc etc. I sell my soul to my mighty Nintendo overlords. This is good by default, because Nintendo.
I would imagine the increasing size of the Switch userbase and the slim library of games they have to choose from right now played more of a part than anything else.
That's nothing against the console or the game, especially in regards to the Switch where it's still relatively new on the market so of course its library isn't huge BUT it's more likely that a Switch user is going to buy a particular game since there's currently a lot less competition on that platform compared to (just example) a PC user, where they have the choice of literally thousands of other games.
@JJ286 They typically don't sell on Nintendo systems, and there's more than enough evidence to back it up. It would be more accurate to come back in a year or so when there's a larger library to choose from and see how well third parties are doing then.
@Heavyarms55 People would be less 'on the trigger' to jump on Nintendo's case if when these type of issues arise (which have been happening with Nintendo's products long before the Switch or Amiibo), it wasn't on such a regular basis and the same couple excuses weren't being recycled, maybe with some different wording by their PR guy.
It's kind of hard to take it as a truth that Nintendo is having a legitimate supply issue or that they genuinely didn't foresee a demand for something when it happens as regularly as it does for them...Or are the staff involved in those departments simply just that incompetent?
There's been various excuses with the Switch so far, Amiibo had their many """"unintended"""" issues with supply (including another 'supply choke'), they totally didn't foresee the demand for the NES classic...Just like they totally won't see the demand for the SNES classic (maybe that will get a 'supply choke' too. Who knows). Hell, even the Wii U was a nightmare to get hold of and it was a failure that people didn't even want.
The Wii is probably the last time that "we didn't foresee the demand" wasn't a bag of lies.
Yea, people probably will jump to the defence of Sony or Microsoft, but they also don't fail to deliver their products into the hands of the customers who want them on such a regular basis.
@Smigit Let's not forget with Nintendo's more 'cartoony' artstyle the amount of reused assets within a game.
Is it surprising that BotW is so low on file size when a majority of the game is grass? Even the dungeons use the same interior design now allowing for reuse of assets without being out of place.
Splatoon, where the content shipped on disk (as well as the DLC) were basically mirror maps, essentially using the same assets at least twice.
Mario. Friggin' Mario. Every world in a Mario game is basically using the same assets throughout that world.
Not saying other developers don't do this because they most definitely do, but Nintendo do it more than people lead others to believe they do which definitely adds to their smaller file size...Yet Nintendo fans are quick to negatively judge third party developers when a lot of the time the main difference is that they simply chose a more detailed art style...And that 90% of their game wasn't the same figgin' grassy plain and ancient ruin assets reused constantly.
If the rumors are false, good, I'll buy it on release as planned.
If they're true, well, there's other games being released in March I like the look of. Nintendo can pretty much say goodbye to at least one console/game sale in their launch window if that's the case, because I'm pretty tired of this s***.
Same happened with Pokemon Sun/Moon, delayed in Europe by 5 days. I was super excited for it but within that 5 days, pretty much everything got spoiled for me by the rest of the world. Canceled my pre-order, still haven't managed to regain my interest to buy it. I could stay off the internet and lock myself in my house but yano what, changing my routine and avoiding something I use basically every day just because Nintendo still doesn't have their s*** together when it comes to international releases doesn't sound like a reasonable thing to do.
It would annoy me less if they didn't keep including countries like the UK in these delays, primarily English speaking countries where the US translation will do fine.
It's the same deal as when Nintendrones spout "Nintendo isn't competing with Sony and Microsoft". They are, but only until they aren't.
Peoples arguments about the Switch's power (again, as they usually are with 'competing') have pretty much done a 180' since the older rumors of the Switch being as powerful to more powerful than the competition. It's gone from bragging to trying to convince themselves and others that it doesn't matter, and really, that's not the case.
You need 3rd party support from developers. Nintndo's own games can't keep a system afloat alone and, hell, Nintndo's games alone have NEVER done that. Hell, look at the Xbox brand and its limited amount of exclusive titles on each console (especially the 360), pretty much proving with its success how important 3rd party can be.
Now in terms of power, does the Switch need to be a powerhouse? No, of course not, but it needs to be capable of running the big name multiplatform games people want to play. If developers need to change their game too much for the sake of one platform, well, why would they bother? Especially if the Switch isn't the success we're hoping it is.
The Switch has an advantage over both consoles AND the PC, it can be portable. If I wasn't already a Nintendo fan, if it's powerful enough to run these multiplatform titles, it suddenly becomes a much more appealing platform simply for the portability of those games that other platforms don't provide.
This all stands on it being 'powerful enough', not "top tier gaming rig". Nintendo are competing and they are in the "arms race", whether they or their fans like it or not. Not having the horsepower to satisfy third party devs will send it the way of the Wii U.
Even if they manage to catch lightning in a bottle for a second time like they did with the Wii thanks to its gimmick, getting everybody and their dog to buy one, do we as gamers really want that? Screw Nintendo as a business for a minute, do we as the people who are buying this want that? The console sold like hot cakes, but software sales didn't exactly point towards it being the success console sales made it out to be and it was a platform mostly consisting of tacky shovelware.
@Achoo "For those that think 'Power' is key, answer this:" Okay
"1. Why did Sega go out of business? Should they not have been successful when they had by far the most powerful system?"
You could trace the start of this downfall back the the Genesis/Megadrive and the eventual cluster **** that was the marketing and release for the 32X and CD addons/new consoles. Along with relatively short lifespans and terrible support, they were a complete mess, tarnishing the trust with their fans.
There's also the Saturn which suffered similar issues in the west, with poor marketing, mediocre support and a short lifespan, again lowering trust with consumers after a system with dire support.
The Dreamcast came along and it was already relying on what was left of customers good will for a lot of sales. Add to this how insanely easy it was to pirate games for the system for people that did buy it and SEGA essentially hemorrhaged money.
"2. Why did the GameCube not outsell the competition when it was the most powerful of it's generation?"
The Gamecube was 'more powerful', but they also had to be special snowflakes and use discs with a significantly lower storage space. Whilst PS2 games were sometimes huge open world affairs with fully voiced dialogue throughout, Super Mario Sunshine had to cut out voice files (yano, those small few second clips Mario games use?) because there was no more room on the disc. This isn't something that appealed to third party developers when they could easily go elsewhere and not have to cut content out of their games due to 'special snowflake' choice in storage. As usual, the Nintendo lost out on third party support due to their insistence on being different, so customers went to the consoles 'with' that support for a larger library.
"3. How did the Wii outsell everything when it wasn't even HD?"
The Wii was a special case of 'right time, right place'. This was before smartphones were the choice of platform for the casual audience. As we know, the Wii heavily appealed to those people. People that wouldn't even usually buy a gaming device were buying the Wii so that they could play that "funny little tennis game"...Then a month later they shoved it in the cupboard never to be seen again. The Wii's sales were because the Wii was a fad. Yes, it had it's good games too, but the casual consumer that used it for a month make up a bulk of those sales. Nintendo keep trying to capture the success of the Wii and they can't, because it was a fluke. They wanted the Wii owners to upgrade to the Wii U and most of them never would, because they had smartphones now and the only games they ever owned for the Wii were Wii Sports, Wii Fit and Wheel of Fortune.
"4. Why 3DS do so well? Wasn't Vita more powerful?" It had better support. The Vita's library was largely portable versions of PS3 games. The 3DS was largely exclusives. Where do you think people are gonna go? Nintendo have also always had a stronghold on the handheld market, so for Sony it was always going to be an uphill battle against Nintendo's handhelds and for once, it was Sony that screwed the pooch instead of Nintendo.
What you really seem to be missing the point on though is that nobody says the NX has to be the most powerful console ever created to be successful, it simply has to compete. It has to be in the same generation of hardware. The Gamecube might have been more powerful than the PS2, the N64 was more powerful than the PS1, but they were all still in the same generation of hardware, so it was the 'other choices' that resulted in cheaper manufacturing costs or higher storage space that resulted in Sony's victory in those generations.
The Wii U failed because it was a generation of hardware behind the PS4 and Xbone. Whilst everybody else was moving on, Nintendo had just caught up ready to duke it out with the PS3. Developers didn't want to make games for that, they were trying to leave that relic hardware behind, not cling onto it for the sake of Nintendo.
With Nintendo reps keep mentioning how specs don't matter, it makes me think that the NX is yet again behind. They can't risk being behind, and they don't need to be ahead either, they just need to COMPETE.
Would have helped if it released alongside some actual exclusives. I bought MH4U and MM3D on release (twas my birthday) and the guy at the store was adamantly trying to sell me a 'N3DS'. I was like, no, it's useless. Can I play these games on my current 3DS? Are the games unplayable without a C-stick? No? Then leave me alone.
Xenoblade Chronicles on 3DS is just something I cannot imagine being as fun as the Wii version. Save yourself the cost of XC:3D and an entirely new system and just buy the Wii version. It's a more expensive game, but still cheaper than an entirely new redundant system.
The N3DS, in theory, is good. The severe lack of exclusive content for it is a deal breaker though since none of its other features justify the price. I'll get one IF my 3DSxl breaks, which doesn't seem likely.
It's as 'controversial' as your run of the mill regular Dead of Alive fighting game. Neither is really in the spotlight for their obvious fan service because nobody really cares that much.
In either case, I'm not afraid to admit, with both games I come for the boobs and stay for the gameplay.
Didn't already exist on every other platform for years now
Released before I owned it on at least one of those many other platforms
Released before the hype train left the station many years ago
Did something worthwhile with the gamepad now that they've finally decided to release on Wii U
I mean, really, the only reason the Wii U version would have been worthwhile at this point is real gamepad support and functionality. Off TV play is by far the laziest option they could have gone with and definitely not enough to sell it to me. Otherwise, it's offering nothing that the other versions aren't already offering aside from Nintendo specific skin packs, which are also irrelevant to PC users.
@mjhopkins81 How is it trolling for saying your reasoning behind disliking Xenoblade X are factually wrong?
You said you dislike it because the whole Bionis/Mechonis thing was stupid, which is the story of the first game, not X.
Your reasoning for disliking X is objectively inaccurate. That's not trolling, that's just me pointing out that you're forming an opinion on a game based on inaccurate information.
Why is it irrelevant? Because you just said you dislike the game because you thought the story of the first game was stupid.
The story of Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles X are totally different. You may as well say "I dislike Final Fantasy X because gunblades and flying schools are stupid".
I dislike how Isabelle was only available through the game bundle in my region, especially since the game seems to be disappointing.
But Nintendo probably didn't bank on me just hopping on eBay, searching for 'Isabelle Amiibo' and buying her for cheap from somebody who bought the game but didn't want the Isabelle Amiibo.
If it wasn't obvious enough that the game is fantasy from the anthropomorphic animal, the the fact that a game store will have more than one shelf between both the Wii U and 3DS practically screams "this isn't real".
Their attitude towards the 'Xeno' name seems similar to how the 'Final Fantasy' games work. How aside from the obvious direct sequels/spinoffs like X-2 or Crisis Core, they're all separate standalone games in their own right but still obviously very much part of the same series.
I don't mind this. It's a good formula alerting me that I should like the game based on previous titles, but I can expect it to be an entirely new adventure a conventional sequel wouldn't necessarily bring.
I get why this might be a touchy thing to do since Cowboys vs Indians etc...But, yano, maybe that's why they chose a Cowboy as a replacement in the first place? Not out of malice but all they know is "isn't cowboys and Indians a thing? Replace it with that, makes sense to us". They may not really fully understand the actual significance of it.
Then again, if the West wasn't so butthurt over literally anything these days, things like this wouldn't be changed in the first place. The way I see it, they were gonna get slated for including the native American character, they get slated for changing it and taking away racial representation.
Certain vocal groups in the West get butthurt over so much that they may as well ship it over as is since they're seriously never going to please everybody...Yano, since everybody in the world is expected to follow and understand the US's culture.
I was hoping Amiibo Festival, at best, would take on the old Mario Party formula that Mario Party abandoned. Nope, it's just an half hearted attempt to cash in on Animal Crossing fans. I'll at most look for Isabelle sold separately either if Nintendo decides to do so or simply looking on Ebay, that's about the extent of my interest.
Mario Tennis is a shallow attempt at a Mario Tennis sequel. I'm actually glad this failed for a reason other than the lack of effort put into it. This might send a message to Nintendo that things won't sell just because they stick Mario on the front, hopefully making them tone down the Mario spammage.
Yea, sounds like a classic PICNIC error, or more accurately I guess, PICNIW (problem in chair, not in Wii U).
Binding of Issac is not a demanding game at all and even taking the Wii U's 'oh so difficult architecture' in mind, it should be able to run it properly with little effort if the person doing the port had enough ability to do so correctly.
I think he should just bite the bullet and either admit there's a different reason he can't be bothered putting the work in (possibly bad sales on the original? I don't know how it sold) or pass the port off to somebody who HAS the ability to properly port it. If he just admitted to there being another more genuine reason I would respect the guy a whole lot more for his decision in leaving Nintendo behind on this, but the "it won't work" and Vita comparison really don't float an actual justification.
I won't even get into the thing he said about the Vita. The man is clearly either a moron or just looking for excuses with any old nonsense he can throw out. I think most people have come to terms with how capable the Wii U actually is by now.
This is partially why I won't buy the game, at least until it receives a severe price drop (which being a Nintendo game will be in about 10 years).
Along with these, the 'hold forward to win' levels and the general abundance of mediocre/bad levels from people with no concept of good level design. I don't know about the community who votes on levels but if these sort of levels get high rating, that's another reason for me to avoid it.
It's a shame because I just know there'll be some genuinely good levels in there, I just can't be bothered filtering through the sea of trash and spending £50 to play a bunch of badly put together and automated rubbish.
Where I think they should be paid properly, especially if it's a vocally straining role, I have to wonder what exactly do they get paid now? How does payment work? Are they already getting paid enough for what they do? I don't know.
I think he's also over estimating how much voice acting matters in games in the sense of who the voice actor is, as though I actually care who is doing the voice acting. All I care about is whether it's good or not, not who is doing it. Even then, bad voice acting won't really hurt my enjoyment all that much either. I tend not to really remember the voice acting very much at all, or notice it whilst playing.
If something isn't going to really make or break a game (which voice acting won't), companies aren't going to pay a premium for voice actors. Is it strenuous? Maybe, but it's just not logical to pay somebody excessive amounts for something not that important, especially when there's tons of young hopefuls who'll jump at the chance to do it for next to nothing.
@amiiboacid True, the shelf space in that picture is overall bigger than in any store I've been into. Nintendo is lucky to even get a full shelf! Maybe it's a store that gets more Nintendo custom? Even with Nintendo lagging behind in popularity, I imagine there's still some places with higher Nintendo fandom.
As for the renders, who knows? Maybe it's to make it all stand out now that the shelf space has been merged, rather than a small area rotting in the corner ignored by all except those who already know of it? Maybe stand out altogether in hopes that people will actually take note of Nintendo since it's grey/white advertising clearly wasn't working. I know most stores have the Xbox and Playstation stuff in eyecatching bright green/blue, so Nintendo could just be trying to finally match that.

Heck, even Tembo, probably their most marketed game as of late (aside from Pokemon of course), it took me quite a while to realise it was from Game Freak because their name basically didn't come up in any of the marketing I came across.

I've seen this guys work before, just never knew who he was.
I think it's neat. Realistic Pokemon kinda look like something that would appear in Monster Hunter.
Also nice to see something different for a change. The animated movies are awful anyway, so no big loss if this movie is terrible.
Re: Try Not To Get Too Angry At The First 'Hero' Shot From The Upcoming Monster Hunter Movie
Re: Skybound Games Handling The Physical Release Of Hollow Knight
@subpopz It's hardly foolishness. They're indie devs, it's a bigger risk for them to put out a mass amount of copies that aren't guaranteed to sell compared to a AAA publisher who can put out enough copies for everybody with some to spare.
Especially with it being an indie title. So many people will give it a pass solely because of that, with that biennial attitude some people have of indie developers not being real developers and only supporting already successful "AAA" companies.
Re: Nintendo Didn’t Want Yakuza Series, According To Sega’s Toshihiro Nagoshi
@MrGawain That's all well and good...If we ignore that 'Devils Third' was a Wii U exclusive with quite a bit of marketing behind it and featured a tattooed gun toting protagonist.
Re: Review: Chicken Assassin: Reloaded (Switch eShop)
@kirbygirl I find it helps to not be overwhelmed by having not ignored everything outside of Nintendo for the past few years.
There's a lot of good indie titles on the Switch, but I've already played through them elsewhere, making it difficult to legitimately
call the Switch versions part of my backlog unless they've added something significant (which most don't).
Re: Random: Return To The '90s With This Super Mario All-Stars VHS Released By Nintendo UK
Looks like this could have been filmed on the set of Red Dwarf, being all cheap looking and space themed.
Re: Nindies Respond To Nintendo Releasing High Volume Of Games On Switch eShop
@ogo79 I don't think you understand the point.
Re: Arc System Works Reveals Kill La Kill The Game Is In Development, Due Out 2019
I'll pick this up for sure.
Re: Hackers Have Found A Way To Exploit The Switch, And It's Apparently 'Unpatchable'
Re: Sega Reveals Shenmue 1 & 2 Remaster, But It's Skipping Switch
Re: Sega Reveals Shenmue 1 & 2 Remaster, But It's Skipping Switch
@gortsi I play PC more than anything, also own PS4 and Switch, so I don't particularly care about your little high and mighty Switch circle jerk since I'm not exactly pledging an allegiance to a single platform. You can continue to imply I'm a Sony fanboy all you want, it doesn't make you any more correct.
I'm simply stating, you are factually wrong. Deal with it and move on.
Re: Sega Reveals Shenmue 1 & 2 Remaster, But It's Skipping Switch
@gortsi You're factually incorrect.

Re: Soapbox: The Super Mario Movie Might Not Be All That Great
@sketchturner Just because the target audience is children doesn't excuse a bad movie.

Re: BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Is Brawling Its Way To Switch In 2018
First I've heard of the game.

Re: Nintendo Is Resurrecting The NES Classic Mini And Increasing SNES Classic Inventory
"Breaking news: Nintendo are shipping 3 more units of the NES classic edition"
Re: Switch Version Of Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap Sold More Than All The Other Versions Combined
Re: Multiple Supply Choke Points To Blame For Switch Stock Situation, Says Nintendo
Re: Feature: Exploring The "Switch Tax" And Why Nintendo Was Right to Use Game Cards

Nice neutral stance you have there.
Re: Confusion Reigns Over Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's Release Date In Europe
Re: Editorial: The Nintendo Switch 'Power' Debate is Likely Missing the Point
"Nintendo's not in the console arms race"
Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success
@Achoo "For those that think 'Power' is key, answer this:"
Okay
"1. Why did Sega go out of business? Should they not have been successful when they had by far the most powerful system?"
Wasn't Vita more powerful?"
It had better support.
Re: Talking Point: The Easily Forgotten Hardware Release of 2015 - New Nintendo 3DS
Re: There'll Be More Senran Kagura Bursting Onto the Scene in 2016
It's as 'controversial' as your run of the mill regular Dead of Alive fighting game. Neither is really in the spotlight for their obvious fan service because nobody really cares that much.
In either case, I'm not afraid to admit, with both games I come for the boobs and stay for the gameplay.
Re: Here are the Top Three Wii U and 3DS Games, According to Miiverse
Author didn't like Triforce Heroes.
Obviously that makes them the majority and the votes were obviously wrong.
Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Minecraft: Wii U Edition, Or Is It Too Late?
Maybe if it:
I mean, really, the only reason the Wii U version would have been worthwhile at this point is real gamepad support and functionality. Off TV play is by far the laziest option they could have gone with and definitely not enough to sell it to me. Otherwise, it's offering nothing that the other versions aren't already offering aside from Nintendo specific skin packs, which are also irrelevant to PC users.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X Earns Modest UK Chart Position But Outsells Predecessor
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X Earns Modest UK Chart Position But Outsells Predecessor
@mjhopkins81 Your opinion is irrelevant.
Re: Review: Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival (Wii U)
I dislike how Isabelle was only available through the game bundle in my region, especially since the game seems to be disappointing.
But Nintendo probably didn't bank on me just hopping on eBay, searching for 'Isabelle Amiibo' and buying her for cheap from somebody who bought the game but didn't want the Isabelle Amiibo.
Re: Soon You'll Be Able To Create A Games Store In Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer
If it wasn't obvious enough that the game is fantasy from the anthropomorphic animal, the the fact that a game store will have more than one shelf between both the Wii U and 3DS practically screams "this isn't real".
Re: Xenoblade X Developers Talk About the Game's Complexity and Why The "Xeno" Appears in the Name
Re: Rumour: A Class in Bravely Second is Supposedly Being Censored for the Western Release
Re: Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash Fail to Chart in the UK
Kinda glad to be honest.
Re: Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash Fail to Chart in the UK
@Grumblevolcano I think Xenoblade will be different. For a start, it doesn't look awful.
Re: The NES Joins The High Definition Era With This Awesome HDMI Mod
What's going on with that NES comparison?
Seriously, the Wii U VC does not look anywhere near that bad from my experience. I wouldn't even bother paying for the games if it did.
I smell shenanigans.
Re: Review: Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash (Wii U)
@WebHead
If below average Mario spin offs were any indication of Nintendo 'coasting', they've been doing it since the launch of Wii U.
Re: Poor Odds of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth Coming to Wii U as Nicalis Says It's "Not Much More Powerful Than a PS Vita"
Re: Video: This Super Mario Maker Player Captures The Frustration of Surprise 'Don't Move' Stages
Re: Video Game Voice Actors Contemplate Strike Action Over Pay and Conditions
Re: Retailers In North America Merge Wii U & 3DS Library Under One Nintendo Banner
