In September, SNK announced a new Samurai Shodown game making use of Unreal Engine 4. The working title - known in Japan as Samurai Spirits - was scheduled to arrive next year on the PlayStation 4.

It's now believed the title will be released on multiple other systems including the Nintendo Switch in the second quarter of 2019. This information comes from an article about a recent SNK conference held in South Korea. There's even a presentation slide showing Nintendo's logo alongside what looks to be The King of Fighters XIV, Samurai Spirits and Metal Slug:

Not long ago, SNK producer Yasuyuki Oda said The King of Fighters XIV would "definitely be a possibility" on the Switch. For now, we'll just have to wait and see how all of this unfolds.

At the same conference, SNK also revealed The King of Fighters XV was in development and is scheduled to arrive in 2020.
