Re: Talking Point: Is Nintendo Switch Online Good Value Compared To PlayStation Plus And Xbox Live Gold?

Sunsy

Being that Nintendo fan who is also a PC gamer, I have very strong opinions against paying to play online multiplayer modes. When it comes to online play, PC has the best value. Just buy the game and play online for no additional cost.

The SNES and NES games are nice, a Netflix-style experience for classic games. I do like that, but it can be its own paid service without touching online multiplayer in games I already paid for.

At least that's how I feel about it. Sorry if I sound negative about it.

Re: The Switch Online Service Now Has More Than 15 Million Subscribers

Sunsy

I'm subscribed just to play online multiplayer with my friends. As a Nintendo fan who's also a PC gamer, I have very strong opinions against paid online multiplayer. Really don't like the idea of paying to play games online I already paid for.

The NES and Super NES games are a nice perk, but I still feel it can be its own paid service without touching online multiplayer.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions is on pre-order, looking forward to reliving my favorite Wii U game at home and away from home. When it's delivered either tomorrow or shortly after. Can't make it to a store, so just ordered online.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2020

Sunsy

Playing Apex on PC, I have to be honest, I like it when they have the other modes, like Shadowfall and Winter Express, more than its battle royale mode. If only limited time modes weren't a thing, I'd like to see it on Switch.

Which leads me to Titanfall 2. I also played this on PC and I loved every moment of the single player story mode. This would be another game I'd like to see ported to Switch.

Not the download version, but I have the physical version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions pre-ordered, so I'll be either receiving it in the mail on release or shortly after. Looking forward to playing this again, and when I take my Switch traveling.

Re: Feature: The Best Free Switch Games To Download Right Now

I may not be big on battle royale, I enjoy Realm the times I do play it. On PC, I've had more fun with the Winter Express and Shadowfall LTMs on Apex (Is it me, or am I the only one who dislikes the "limited time mode" concept? Just keep the modes? Having extra modes in an online game does not hurt).

Realm Royale solves the problem I dislike about BR games. Tired of permadeath? Become a chicken and if you survive by running and hiding, you get a second and third chance to play longer and maybe even win. Map too big? You can ride a horse to move faster. I like these gameplay elements a lot. Such an underrated BR game.

Also, I love Paladins, Asphalt 9, and Warframe. Right now Dauntless is growing on me, hoping to co-op some monster hunts with my friends some day.

Even though it's not listed, Dawn of the Breakers, it's fun in short bursts. Has an anime style, but it's a bit RPG and a bit board game. I like playing this too.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch Online Took A Step Forward In 2019, But It's Not There Yet

Sunsy

Am I happy with Nintendo Switch Online? Allow me to answer that with a question. Why would I be happy with paying for what was previously free on Wii U, Wii, 3DS, and DS?

While I'm a Nintendo fan, I'm also a PC gamer, so I hold the dislike to paying to play online multiplayer in games I buy opinion very strongly. Right now, I'm only paying for it to play with friends online.

Will admit, the NES and SNES Netflix-style service is nice, however it can be its own paid service that doesn't touch online multiplayer.

Sorry, if I sound rather negative. Paying to play online in games I already bought is the only thing I don't like about Switch to be honest.

Re: Feature: The Best Hidden Gems And Underrated Switch Games Of 2019

Sunsy

I love Super Lucky's Tale on PC, and loving the new Switch version now that I started to play it. I didn't really consider it to be a hidden gem.

Not putting down the game at all, I love New Super Lucky's Tale, to me a hidden gem is usually a game I don't see talked about much.

@tobibra Oh yes, Tokyo School Life. I loved that visual novel so much. There's a game I don't see spoken much of. I only think I've seen one other person mention it.

Re: Video: Our 10 Favourite Winter-Themed Levels In Nintendo Games

Sunsy

Ice Land in Super Mario 3, fond memories playing it around Christmas and just Winter in general. Ice and snow looked nice as I played the Super Mario All-Stars version, I remember getting that for Christmas as a kid too.

@Ghost_of_Starman I practically came to this article and thought Snowflake Mountain in Diddy Kong Racing! Always been a childhood favorite area to race.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Christmas? (Special Edition 2019)

Sunsy

This weekend, going to try to play the Christmas event in Paladins as this weekend is the last few days for that, and want to try to play the Christmas event in Dawn of the Breakers. My friend and I exchanged gifts a bit early, and he gave me Crash Team Racing, so I'll also be playing that.

I want to try to play Sonic Mega Collection, this one brings back a Christmas memory where my brother and I exchanged gifts early, and he gave me this. Hopefully on Christmas day, Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and New Super Lucky Tale if I get them for Christmas.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone in the Nintendo Life staff and community!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 14th)

Sunsy

With the Christmas-themed events going on, I'm going to try to play Paladins and Apex Legends on Switch and PC respectively. Had fun when I tried Apex's Winter Express mode, and had more fun with it than its usual battle royale mode.

May play some other games too, really want to get around to these two if things don't get too busy.

Re: A Sonic Mania-Style 'Drop Dash' Almost Made It Into Sonic 3

Sunsy

Boy this beta has been going around. It's pretty cool they thought of the idea long before anyone spoke the words "drop dash," however, the soundtrack impresses me more.

What was once thought of as a replaced soundtrack on the old Windows 95 PC version, is actually the original soundtrack. Sonic 3 is on Steam, but that's more of an officially emulated version, rather than the original PC release.

Re: Rumour: New Images Supposedly Show Sonic's Movie Redesign, But We're Not Convinced Just Yet

Sunsy

Kind of cool the update shows a display. I've seen these for other movies at local theater too. It's either real, or the artist really put a lot of work in fooling many. Hoping for that trailer to put the rumor status to rest.

@RareFan I wasn't too surprised with the original Sonic model. More or less, I just thought the original design was Hollywood being unfaithful to a game's source material to a movie again.
