@Obito_Sigma How does looking forward to seeing the Sonic balloon make me confused? I just expressed I'm happy to see the balloon coming back. I do remember the 20th anniversary appearance though.
Probably won't attend, but will probably watch it via the NBC app. Does make me happy seeing characters I like in the parade and Sonic is no exception. Loved the Trolls one last year, now looking forward to Sonic this year.
This tiny announcement from the direct made me happy, I do enjoy Pac-Man, though I just have the game on older systems like Game Boy and GBA. Good timing too since I was considering one of the more modern releases on 3DS and Wii U (though they're the NES version).
Before anyone asks, yes, I have Pac-Man 99 and play it occasionally.
My least favorite announcement because I already have Sega Genesis Classics for Switch, which has online play, and it means more money for a subscription plan that has these games.
As a Nintendo fan who's a PC gamer, let's say I have very strong opinions against paid online. With that said, I still feel if Switch Online was more of a classic gaming service and not an online multiplayer requirement, I think I'd receive it better.
Voted another because I've love this series as a whole, all the eras. Classic, Dreamcast, modern, yes even the Boom (nope, not going unmentioned, Fire and Ice was great and best of the three IMHO).
I just always enjoyed Sonic games. I seem to just disagree with the popular opinion, mostly because I'm more of a play it myself and come to my own opinion kind of guy. Not just Sonic, but any games really.
Guess, you could call me more of a general Sonic fan as I just like the series as a whole.
DankPods has entered the chat... no really, that song makes me think of DankPods.
On a serious note, I'm glad on actual hardware it's a rare occurrence, and a patch is on the way. Whenever I played Sonic Colors on Wii, in all the years of playing it, not once have I thought of going in and out of planets. Mostly just go into them to play the levels.
I don't follow reviews personally, but I wonder if reviewers missed the bug because they didn't play for a long period. Example, go into a planet, play some levels, turn the system off, then come back later. While playing for a long period may trigger it as you are going in and out of multiple planets to get through the game. Just a guess I have really.
Watching the clip Nintendo Life linked, the steps to reproduce the "epilepsy glitch" (apologies for lack of a better name) is basically going in and out of planets multiple times before entering a level. GameXplain even recreated it on an actual Switch and state the steps are intentional (I usually think MissingNo in Pokemon Red/Blue, as you need to intentionally do steps to make it happen, whenever I think of intentional glitches).
Honestly, when I played the Wii original, I never once thought of doing this in all the years of owning it, I mostly entered planets to play their levels.
Hopefully it will be patched by the time I get around to it. I already played it on Wii, so I can wait on this one a bit longer to enjoy it again with the newer stuff.
@Snatcher Me too. Hopefully by the time I play it, the updates will be out. I watched some gameplay on YouTube, from an actual system, the game looks fine. Just looks like a better version of the Wii game.
Not too worried about spoilers since I've played the original on Wii, and played the DS version (I wish the Sonic handheld games gotten more love, Advance 1-3, Battle, the Rush games, and Colors).
Seriously, I'm glad you also saw those updates too.
@Anti-Matter Personally, I like Sonic Colors on Wii. Though I haven't played this one yet as I don't have this version yet. I plan to wait on getting it, hopefully for Christmas.
If it's the bugs, hopefully they'll be patched if the tweets are anything to go by. Keep in mind some bugs are from versions played via an emulator on a PC (which is pointless IMHO because PC does have a Sonic Colors port).
Gameplay-wise, Colors reminds me of Generations. Where the gameplay switches from 3D to 2D, and color powers gives Sonic abilities. Going by the Wii version, so the core gameplay should be the same in this remaster.
@Liam_Doolan Hope it's ok to share a Twitter link, Blind Squirrel tweeted about the bugs and are telling players to submit bug reports to Sega support.
Also, the Sonic social media manager is saying the same thing to help with an upcoming patch, and acknowledges some of the graphical bugs are from emulators.
@Snatcher You're welcome. Same here, I saw at least one video being recommended on the fake glitches as real. Goes back to my unpopular opinion why I'm liking gaming YouTubers less and less. Do some investigating before making the video.
@Snatcher Enjoy it when you get it. I'm sure it will be patch. They even patched Sonic Boom, so that does say something. At first I thought it was just early access stuff, then I saw people mention the emulator stuff, and looked into it.
The part I'm going to dislike, YouTubers will treat this as fact, even though it's not.
@Snatcher Beat me to it, I keep coming across people mentioning glitches are faked because they were recorded using a Switch emulator. One of the screenshots even showed a mouse cursor.
I plan to wait on playing this, but that decision came from having already played this on Wii.
@CharlieGirl Most of the time, I always get matched up with players via quick battle. There are definitely people playing. Quick battle is just battle royale mode, which is different than traditional battle royale. Instead of last player standing, it's most points wins.
I like Ninjala and I like Hatsune Miku, this crossover works for me. Yes, still enjoying and playing Ninjala, just booted it up for a quick match or two.
As someone who loves this game, I would love to see it go to other consoles and PC with cross-play. I think it would be cool if more could be able to play and enjoy this game.
I literally was just playing Green Hill Zone on that Sonic GBA port and this article pops up. Like the author, I'd say Green Hill is also my most played level, considering I have Sonic 1 on most of my game systems.
Went with one of the less popular one, which is the Europe one. I just found it to be rather cool compared to the other ones. Hoping to grab this one on Wii U, I missed out on picking it up during the GBA days.
I might keep an eye on this one, a few years back I played an old PC game GOG has called Slipstream 5000. This kind of reminding me of a modern version of that.
Gave this a try recently, even though I'm not the best player, I like it for a few casual rounds of Bomberman. Actually, I ended up installing it on both Switch and PC. Redeemed this reward on both this morning.
@ShadJV Neat, I'm seeing good things said about it, so I'm looking forward to trying it.
@Dogorilla Agreed, also for me at least, sometimes never hearing about a game makes me curious and want to try it myself. Sometimes games I overlooked or never heard of become new favorites.
Never heard of these, though for a moment I thought Claymates was ClayFighter, remember renting a game in the series when I was younger, I think the N64 one. Looking it up, and finding out it's a platformer in a similar style, I'm genuinely curious now.
Really enjoyed Warframe, honestly, I've been waiting for cross-save. I wanted to play the game when I got my new PC a few years back, but was disappointed in the lack of cross-save.
Currently planning to play Metroid II, grabbed it yesterday on my 3DS. Started it yesterday, and I like it so far. Maybe some Battlefield 4 on PC if I can get around to it.
@Double-L Have played Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension on both Wii and DS, in addition to the other two DS games.
Cartoon-based games usually get poor reception from gaming sites, but there's a lot of them I've liked.
Nowadays, they seem to appear on mobile. Though, will say I'm very happy with Smurfs: Mission Vileaf appearing on Switch and PC. I miss playing games based on cartoons I like.
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for me. I don't consider it a bad game IMHO, it did get reviewed poorly. Just always like the exploration aspect of the game, and being able to explore the game's world is one of the reasons why I like going back and playing it from time to time.
Will also say, I'm probably one of the few who enjoyed Balan Wonderworld despite popular opinion. Again, I don't consider it bad, only complaint being lack of a dedicated jump button. Like it as a puzzle platformer, figuring out how to reach certain areas with costumes.
@moodycat This I agree with as opinions change from person to person.
@Joshua228 Man, I played Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius on GameCube a lot in early 2003. Had fun despite the cutscenes the game has. Jimmy can talk, without moving his mouth.
@BlueOcean 60 FPS is the best benefit to the PC versions. I also have Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on PC (in addition to Wii U) because of a sale years ago, runs really nice.
@LArachelDisciple This was my only disappointment, considering the teams reminds me of Sonic Heroes, I feel Cream should have been on Team Rose. Still love the game otherwise.
@BlueOcean I agree, I had a lot of fun with Team Sonic Racing, honestly, it's one of my favorite Switch games.
It's nice to see an artbook included for new players. I have no plans on buying it again, except on PC when there's a sale, just to be able to play it there too.
Currently planning to get around to playing a bit of Super Bomberman R Online on Switch, and Battlefield 4 on PC. Just started Super Bomberman R Online, enjoying it even if I'm not the best at it. To be fair, last time I played Bomberman was Bomberman Online on Dreamcast a long time ago.
May play some other games too, not sure which ones yet, maybe a Sonic series one since I'm in a Sonic mood.
One I'll keep an eye on. I have Crash Drive 2 on PC and Switch, and it's a rather fun sandbox to drive around and goof around with friends. Even the previous game was crossplay, my friend was on Switch, while I was playing on PC
@TheJGG So far my experience, it's mostly NBC and Universal stuff (a lot of the kids section is DreamWorks too, movies and shows), it does keep up with NBC shows in season (Law and Order for example).
Also, did find some nice movies on it, and they keep adding new movies each month.
Not too surprised if I'm being honest, they have Boss Baby Family Business on Peacock since last week. Watched the movie that way since I have Peacock.
@BloodNinja I knew about the service before launch, there was a Peacock ad in my Trolls World Tour blu-ray case. It also became home to WWE's content, which explains why WWE Network is no longer in the US, so they're pushing it too.
@RadioHedgeFund Honestly, as someone with Netflix, Hulu, and Peacock, I still find it cheaper than cable personally. Two or three is fine IMHO, getting every single streaming service, now that's a lot.
It makes me very happy to see a write-up on visual novels. Having played Doki Doki Literature Club when it was originally released sparked my interest in more of them.
I've played a few on PC, DDLC and the Higurashi chapters (still working on Chapter 6, so no spoilers please). I also played Parascientific Escape on 3DS, which was not only a visual novel, but an escape game with puzzles. Also played the second game, and I have the third sitting on my 3DS. Tokyo School Life on Switch, loved each girl's route.
The stories these games had were great IMO, and I love this genre. Thanks for the article Kate!
Really want to try to get back into playing Ninjala. New season started and I haven't had a chance to play it yet. Also, Two Point Hospital on PC, since I recently picked it up and got hooked to it.
May play a couple of other games too, nothing in particular, just maybe other games I have I want to play.
Yup, still used it regularly as I always keep my Wii U hooked up to my TV in addition to my Switch. They're always hooked up, so why wouldn't I use them for streaming. I always use YouTube and Hulu on Switch to watch something.
I'm surprised especially when Wii, 3DS, and Wii U had Netflix, it's kind of was expected to just have it show up on Switch.
This is coming from someone who uses their Nintendo systems for gaming too.
Say what you want about Wii U, but stuff like this always amuses me. In a "how much longer will this system get games" kind of way. Kudos to indie developers who keep bringing games to the system.
@Snatcher Yeah, it may change because of the real time score updates, but I'm surprised Rise of Lyric even charted. Personally I like the game despite unpopular opinion.
So I'm guessing Nintendo Life used the games that had a lot of ratings seeing how it charted.
@Snatcher I think this is based on user ratings, and apparently updates in real time. Literally just rated Sonic Boom Fire & Ice, and it bumped it up going past Sonic Heroes.
Sonic Heroes and Fire & Ice having a match between each other, both great IMO anyway.
Would say my favorite classic Sonic is definitely CD. Favorite 3D being Heroes, and favorite spin-offs being Battle and Riders.
Sonic CD for me, loved it when I played the Windows 95 PC version, still loved it on Sonic Gem Collection and the updated PC version on Steam. Even have the game on my phone to play on the go.
Oh wow, I got reminded of Metroid Prime Federation Force yesterday too, had on the old 2015 E3 event.
This weekend, planning to play World of Tanks Blitz because the game gave me three days of premium for free, and maybe Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 and some Doom Eternal. On the PC side of things, Mirror's Edge.
I want to try to get around to playing these, I may play a few other games in addition to these. I have Sonic Battle on my mind.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and has fun playing their games.
Got the classic PC game Bioforge and Mirror's Edge during GOG's summer sale, so will be playing those. May play a few other games, but not sure which ones yet. Those two are definitely going to get played.

I want to try to get around to playing these, I may play a few other games in addition to these. I have Sonic Battle on my mind.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and has fun playing their games.
Re: Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! Arrives Later This Month On Switch
Played the original on PC, cutest game ever.
Oh, and Natsuki is best girl.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 12th)
Got the classic PC game Bioforge and Mirror's Edge during GOG's summer sale, so will be playing those. May play a few other games, but not sure which ones yet. Those two are definitely going to get played.
