@HammerGalladeBro Indeed, forgot NSO had that feature. IIRC, the old Steam release of Bubsy was very basic. Literally just the two games with a basic emulator, and that version just had a save function.
Whoa, I've had Bubsy on both of my PCs for a decade now. I got the Two-Fur collection Steam had years ago, which had the second game as well. Always found the second one to be the better Bubsy game.
I don't own a Switch 2, but I have tried both games. Mario Kart World at a local store's Switch 2 demo unit, and played the open beta to Sonic Racing CrossWorlds.
For me, Sonic Racing is the better game. The track changing mid-race kept things fresh for me, and had a lot of fun with it.
The bit I tried with Mario Kart World, it was fine. It felt like other Mario Kart games I played. Not bad, but it feels too safe, while Sonic took a risk with the crossworlds element and changing tracks mid-race, which made races more interesting.
Again, going by my time with the Mario Kart World store demo and the Sonic Racing open beta.
I've been playing the originals since buying them for PC during GOG's summer sale. I'm so happy this made its way to Switch and other consoles so more get to play them. Also, Heretic was never released on console AFAIK, so this is a first.
As someone who's always plays Asphalt (I play on Switch and PC, and even played the arcade version at my local arcade), I like the collab so far. Two of my favorite games too.
Really liking the Sonic music played throughout the event. Already have the Chao DS E-Tense decal on Switch and PC.
Perfect timing, I was playing Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric earlier because of this game being 10. It's nice to see Nintendo Life have a look back at the series. Unpopular opinion ahead, I liked the games, yup, including the Wii U one.
I have no cable TV, so Sonic Boom's games was the only way I got to experience Sonic Boom until the DVDs of the show came out. I do have the DVDs and do enjoy the show.
As someone who played this regularly, I'm looking forward to see what's new in the update. The Nissan 370z Neon is a nice gift. I also played Asphalt 9 on PC, and unlocked that car during the Drive Syndicate 7 event.
I wanted to wait for the Switch version of Unite, since I have more unlocked on Switch than PC (IIRC, progress carries over).
I like the demo, so I'm hoping I'll get it. Though may wait a bit since my birthday is in a few weeks, and I want to see if I get the game as a gift before I decide to buy it.
@Anti-Matter @Princess_Lilly Took me about two hours to beat it too. My Little Pony, speedrun any%, go!
@Anti-Matter Me too, hopefully the main story mode will have more than just Sunny playable too. Other characters were saved for the mini-games last game.
Count me in. I like both Friendship Is Magic, as well as A New Generation, which are these ponies. I loved my time with A Maretime Bay Adventure, the last game, even if it was on the short side. Had fun with the last one.
@TenEighty I would second Smurfs Mission Vileaf. Honestly, one of the best cartoon tie-in games I have actually played IMHO.
It makes me so happy to see Nintendo Life covering Sonic Battle. I remember my friend gave me this game as a birthday gift, and I loved it. So much I even bought extra copies just to do multiplayer. Always loved playing as Amy in Challenge Mode.
@Greatluigi You could say that again, I watched the "Copycat" episode today.
(actual Bluey spoilers) What went from Bluey copying her dad turned into finding an injured bird who eventually died and Bluey coping. I genuinely did not expect that and teared up. It handled it so well too.
This episode of Bluey is called our princess is in another castle.
This is great news to those who like Bluey. Also, I'm another one who's going to say Bluey is a great children's show. I'm just an adult who likes cartoons and animation and I even put it on from time to time (actually had it on earlier today).
This is excellent news. Actually tried it a bit as I have Quake II on PC via GOG, and they give you this version for free. Also, I'm happy about this news since I want this game on Switch too.
I love how this has crossplay too, now if my friend who has Xbox gets this, we could deathmatch like it's 1997.
@JohnnyMind Sadly it is, I am very happy this is happening. Thanks for reminding, I still need to play the new Mario Kart 8 tracks. That's another good thing, I haven't played Mario Kart Tour, so I've gotten to race on some of these tracks because of the course pass.
@JohnnyMind Thanks for thinking of me. Hopefully it will be, I have confidence given I've enjoyed the last few licensed games I've played, Smurfs: Mission Vileaf and My Little Pony: A Maretime Bay Adventure.
As long as it's fun and stays true to source material, I'm happy. I can see they nailed the Trolls series style from the screenshots.
I'm just happy to finally look forward to an actual game, and not a mobile one. No really, I played Trolls Pop for six months and then it was gone.
@Ooyah This is the first time I'm hearing about an Amiga Trolls game. I'm guessing this is based off the classic Trolls known as the Good Luck Trolls (fun fact: DreamWorks actually owns them too, this Trolls series is based off of it).
Never had an Amiga, and I learned a bit about the system thanks to some UK gaming YouTubers that cover classic games (Team 17 comes to mind, I have Super Frog on GOG). I'm glad to hear it was a really good game according to you.
@rjejr Thanks! I made that comment before the news of that game broke out.
@epicgamner Really, for these kinds of games, I like playing as my favorite character. It's one of the things that I like about cart racers in general.
@HotGoomba ngl, it always throws me for a loop when I see a live action movie have the DreamWorks logo. I keep forgetting there's a studio that's not tied to the animation studio.
What a surprise! As the resident Trolls fan, I am so excited for this one. Ever since the mobile games ended, I've been wanting a normal Trolls video game!
So far, the screenshots look great, definitely a day one buy from me.
This news made my day!
@JONOFTHEJONS Yo!
@Anti-Matter @EaglyPurahfan Thanks for the tags. Yeah Anti, I was surprised by this one, I thought Outright Games had the DreamWorks license after that Spirit game, but looks like Gamemill got it now.
@Anti-Matter Cool, hope Outright does a good job with Bluey. Still love the My Little Pony game they published. I wish Outright would just make a Trolls game already. Like the two mobile games no longer exist.
Closest I have to a Trolls game is the pinball table in Pinball FX. They did a great job with the table, paid attention to details from the movies.
@khululy Yeah, I like watching wrestling in addition to my favorite animated series. In 2021, WWE Network shut down for the US, and all of their content is on Peacock now.
@rjejr Crazy combo isn't it. Yeah, Peacock has an animated series based off the DreamWorks movies, and in 2021, it pretty much became home for WWE's content and PPVs.
Seeing Super Mario Movie appear here isn't too surprising given Universal owns it. They have other Illumination movies, so it makes sense.
Finally glad to see this news get posted. As someone who watches Peacock for WWE and Trolls, I'm definitely going to be watching this. Haven't been able to pick up a Blu-Ray/DVD copy yet, so I'll watch this way for the time being.
Obligatory tagging @Anti-Matter comment! Thought you might like this.
This does not look bad for young kids or Paw Patrol fans. Looks like it could be fun to explore the world of Adventure Bay. Seen a few clips of the show myself after a friend gave me a Skye drink topper as a surprise and was curious.
@DwaynesGames Hope you like it. They certainly have, I've played Smurfs 2 on Wii U and it's just an average movie tie-in. Had fun with it, still Mission Vileaf is possibly the best Smurfs game I've played IMO. They did a great job with it.
@JohnnyMind Yeah, Smurfs: The Lost Village came out in 2017, and it's rather underrated too. I think it does a great job living up to the source materal, beautiful animation too. Enjoy whenever you get to watch it.
@Teksetter You're welcome. I think it's cool they're incoporating some of the new smurfs from The Lost Village into the games and new cartoon (Nickelodeon has a new Smurfs cartoon based off The Lost Village).
Enjoy the movie if you and your kids watch it. Sounds nice. I was a 90's kid, and I do remember Saturday Morning cartoons, Sonic SatAM was one of them for me. I did get to see the original 80's cartoons of the Smurfs after seeing Lost Village wanting more Smurfs, got some of the DVDs.
@Teksetter Smurfstorm is a new character, introduced in Smurfs: The Lost Village. If you love Smurfs, I highly recommend the movie, even if you didn't like the live action ones. Smurfs: The Lost Village is fully animated and does a good job staying faithful to the source material.
Not related to the game, but thought I'd put that out there since a character from Smurfs: The Lost Village (and the new cartoon) is in this game.
This news made my day yesterday, I have Mission Vileaf on PC and I love it. I loved how well it captured the Smurfs' world, and being a fun game. May have to get this on PC or Switch, I may go PC if GOG gets it like they did with the first. I love I have the first DRM-free.
Sorry, I am one of the most positive people on this site, who even enjoys games others don't like. Even I hate this idea and trend of making games $70. I really do not want to pay $70 for any game.
If this happens, looks like I'm waiting for sales before buying a Sonic game. At least Sega puts their games on sale on a regular basis, so there is that.
@HistoricKombat @Buizel Can confirm, Trolls World Tour was a $20 rental when it launched, and it was for 48 hours, and watched it this way. It's nice they're still doing the "at home theater" movies. I expect the rental price to eventually drop to like $4-6 for the Mario Movie, and I guess it's coming to Peacock given it's a Universal movie.
Though, I was fortunate enough to see a special showing of Trolls World Tour at a local theater last summer, still very thankful for it since I really wanted to see this one on the big screen, and these kind of rentals was the only option. Got really lucky in that regards. Best movie trip ever.
Did see Mario in theaters, so I'm going to wait for the home release, or for the Peacock showing.
@Liam_Doolan I just checked the Super Mario Movie account, and the movie is also available to rent too. You might want to update it. The rental price is $24.99.
@HammerGalladeBro If the Super Mario movie is anything like Universal's other home releases, you might be better off getting the Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital combo pack. I've done this with a few DreamWorks movies and have all three versions. Plus, you won't need to buy the Blu-Ray when you get the player.
That's my plan to get this movie, or just wait it out until it's on Peacock. Already saw this in theaters and loved it, so it's a definite buy from me.
@1UP_MARIO I saw the comment before the edit, so apologies for replying late. You know what, I never saw it that way. I can recall playing lots of arcade games, paying quarters to play them, but never owning it. Also, arcade games were hard enough to get you to spend your quarters. Just look at the AI for Mortal Kombat 2, it was designed to be so hard to suck quarters out of you.
For me, I like F2P multiplayer games like this one and Apex. It's easier to get into with no up front cost, and secondly, it doesn't require a subscription like NSO. In event I can't renew, it feels good knowing I can still play online.
I think many who get into these games know they're not like traditional games you buy and keep. If I buy a skin, it's because I like the game. I still don't understand how some can sink thousands into these, since I'm usually happy with one or two cosmetic items I really like.
I feel traditional games will always be around, I still like buying and playing them. I understand games like Paladins and Apex won't last forever, while bought games that are traditional experiences last. I still play my old games when I'm in the mood for them. As for Paladins, I played on both Switch and PC, so I'm good with it. I also play Apex on Switch and PC, even though that has no cross progression.
Will admit, I love what League of Legends did, the main game is a live service obviously, but they still made single player games bought and played via traditional means. I think having a multiplayer game as a live service, but making a single player game in the same series a traditional experience is a good balance.
Sad this is happening since I did play this a lot on Switch. I often played Paladins back and fourth between Switch and PC, so my progress is safe and will most likely continue to play on PC.
Surprises me with "performance" since this game actually ran at 60FPS, which isn't common for Switch FPS games AFAIK.
@UltimateOtaku91 My guess is going to Realm Royale too, given Paladins and Rogue Company for Switch are getting cancelled.
@westman98 Glad I'm not the only one who noticed how smooth Paladins ran.
Pleasantly surprised by this trial. Recently played through Star Wars: Dark Forces on PC, while a different series of games (Jedi Knight), I think I'll give this a try. I think I played a demo to this one on PC a very long time ago.
@Anti-Matter That's great, I like traditional games too and still play them, but I'm talking specifically online multiplayer games like this one.
Want to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online, you have to pay $20-$50 a year just to play online on top of the $60 for the game. F2P on Switch don't require NSO for online, so people can play without paying online the fee. While people who pay for their games, are stuck with paying a recurring fee to simply unlock a feature in a game they already paid for.
@ComfyAko This. I can't count how many times I've seen this online. If anything, people who like said game (or series that gets canceled) like the game and they're having it taken away from them. I'll never get this mindset.
This is certainly an oddity, discontinue the Switch version, but not the other consoles and PC. Kind of surprise since this game actually ran at a smooth 60FPS last time I played it. Was unaware of the other issues
That always surprised me with Hi-Rez, this and Paladins ran 60FPS on Switch. Though I find myself playing Paladins more, at least I play on PC too (their cross-progression is great).
@Anti-Matter Personally, for online multiplayer games, I prefer F2P, because you're not forced to pay a subscription like Nintendo Switch Online to play F2P online games. Online multiplayer the way it should be.
Also in event I can't renew NSO because of financial reasons or whatever, I can still play F2P games with my friends.
I started playing this tonight (Friday if anyone's reading this on Saturday). So far, it's surprisingly good. I like Sonic, but genuinely surprised how well it works as a visual novel.
I got the Captain U download, but missed out on these two. For those interested, Sungrand Studios spoke about giving the codes away. Sharing this because it was a rather nice video.
@Vivianeat Gotta admit, I love your enthusiasm for indie developers. While I missed out on this, I actually bought Silver Falls Undertakers on 3DS around Halloween. Loved the Atari 2600-style adventure.
@TaraBates Fortunately I got my code and my friend got a code last night (checked their Twitter after playing their game Space Hunted, wanted to see their eShops thoughts as a Wii U only developer, basically right place at the right time).
Here's hoping more get it this time around. So far I had fun with the time I had playing it. Glad we're both keeping an eye on this.
@Vivianeat Even though they're simple NES-styled games, I do like how this developer came up with their own characters, hence the artwork. I really like this being someone who likes characters.
Even Captain U shows pixel art of some of them above the words Ultra Dolphin Revolution when starting up the game.
Cool to see this. I was playing their game Space Hunted last night, and was wondering "how do they feel about this, they only made Wii U games, but nothing on Switch." I checked their Twitter, and found this giveaway.
I redeemed one of the codes, and a friend did too. Had some fun playing this one last night, while having fun getting a new game after the shutdown, lol.
I don't use Twitter anymore, but if Ultra Dolphin Revolution happens to read this, thank you for this giveaway as well as Space Hunted and Super Ultra Star Shooter. I've enjoyed both of those games too.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's SNES Library With Three More Titles
@HammerGalladeBro Indeed, forgot NSO had that feature. IIRC, the old Steam release of Bubsy was very basic. Literally just the two games with a basic emulator, and that version just had a save function.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's SNES Library With Three More Titles
Whoa, I've had Bubsy on both of my PCs for a decade now. I got the Two-Fur collection Steam had years ago, which had the second game as well. Always found the second one to be the better Bubsy game.
Game is much easier with savestates, lol.

Re: Disney Speedstorm's Inside Out Season Starts Its Engines Today
Just in time for the new movie. Been looking forward to this season. Still playing this regularly on Switch and PC (using cross-progression).
Though as an Ariel main, they nerfed her this new season. I can safely say, they nerfed The Little Mermaid, lol.

Re: Hi-Rez Studios Is Ending Support For Hero Shooter 'Paladins' On Switch
Sad this is happening since I did play this a lot on Switch. I often played Paladins back and fourth between Switch and PC, so my progress is safe and will most likely continue to play on PC.
Surprises me with "performance" since this game actually ran at 60FPS, which isn't common for Switch FPS games AFAIK.
@UltimateOtaku91 My guess is going to Realm Royale too, given Paladins and Rogue Company for Switch are getting cancelled.
@westman98 Glad I'm not the only one who noticed how smooth Paladins ran.
Re: Nintendo's Next Switch Game Trial Is Now Available To Online Subscribers (North America)
Pleasantly surprised by this trial. Recently played through Star Wars: Dark Forces on PC, while a different series of games (Jedi Knight), I think I'll give this a try. I think I played a demo to this one on PC a very long time ago.
Re: Free-To-Play Shooter 'Rogue Company' Ends Service On Switch In June
Re: Free-To-Play Shooter 'Rogue Company' Ends Service On Switch In June
Re: Random: Sega Celebrates April Fool's Day With The Murder Of Sonic The Hedgehog
I started playing this tonight (Friday if anyone's reading this on Saturday). So far, it's surprisingly good. I like Sonic, but genuinely surprised how well it works as a visual novel.
Re: More Indie Developers Are Giving Away Free eShop Codes For Wii U & 3DS
I got the Captain U download, but missed out on these two. For those interested, Sungrand Studios spoke about giving the codes away. Sharing this because it was a rather nice video.

@Vivianeat Gotta admit, I love your enthusiasm for indie developers. While I missed out on this, I actually bought Silver Falls Undertakers on 3DS around Halloween. Loved the Atari 2600-style adventure.
Re: Indie Developer Is Giving Away Free Download Codes For Its Last Wii U Game
@TaraBates Fortunately I got my code and my friend got a code last night (checked their Twitter after playing their game Space Hunted, wanted to see their eShops thoughts as a Wii U only developer, basically right place at the right time).
Here's hoping more get it this time around. So far I had fun with the time I had playing it. Glad we're both keeping an eye on this.
Re: Indie Developer Is Giving Away Free Download Codes For Its Last Wii U Game
@AlanaHagues You're welcome. Hope this helps, best of luck to anyone trying to redeem a code.
Re: Indie Developer Is Giving Away Free Download Codes For Its Last Wii U Game
@AlanaHagues Small update, Ultra Dolphin Revolution is going to share more codes later for those who missed it. Found this by checking their Twitter.

Just thought I'd share this in event more are interested.
Re: Indie Developer Is Giving Away Free Download Codes For Its Last Wii U Game
@Vivianeat Even though they're simple NES-styled games, I do like how this developer came up with their own characters, hence the artwork. I really like this being someone who likes characters.
Even Captain U shows pixel art of some of them above the words Ultra Dolphin Revolution when starting up the game.
Re: Indie Developer Is Giving Away Free Download Codes For Its Last Wii U Game
