Impressive. Personally I don't believe the Switch will surpass the PS2's total sales. It's a very different gaming landscape now, with more diversity and distractions. Systems typically don't have the same longevity these days.

Still the Switch is plainly on track to be a resounding success. Well done Nintendo.

I primarily use my Switch as an 'indie machine' so a continued strong lineup there will be good.

What I want most, however, is Fire Emblem on Switch. A new one would be nice, but if that's a long way off I'd settle for some of the older ones ported to the system.

A hefty target. Makes me wonder what they have hidden under their sleeves. Could be an interesting year.

Getting my Game Boy Pocket. It was my first gaming system, came with a couple of crappy games, but I picked up some better ones. Then Pokémon blue came along, and everything else is history.

I have the physical collection on Wii U with Steamworld Dig so I won't be double dipping but I highly recommend this one. Easily my favourite Steamworld game, it's a fine strategy title with lovely presentation.

Still don't understand how botw is so highly rated. Imo it was a decent game but distinctly flawed. The fact it beat Persona 5 for GOTY is a travesty.

Way to milk it for all its worth Nintendo.

@Heavyarms55 good point. Just me being paranoid due to the continued absence of VC3 in the west.

Is this confirmed for a western release? If so I'll most likely pick up the Switch version, as long as it's up to scratch.

Moon hunters catches my eye. If it reviews well I may pick it up, but only if I can prise myself away from final fantasy XIV though.

If only Dragon Quest X would come to the west. There is the rare example of an MMO I'd play.

Without a doubt my favourite game on Switch so far. Not as good as Steamworld Heist, but not far off.

I didn't enjoy xcx very much, found the combat system quite dull. I hadn't paid this any attention prior to today but it almost has me convinced after that trailer. However I'll be prioritising Fire Emblem Warriors and Skyrim first.

@admwllms also grew up in Wales and pretty much the same as you. Early nineties most of my friends had Nintendo and I didn't even know about the game gear til a few years ago thanks to YouTube.

@Oubie I'm completely useless at racing games and I've had a great time playing Fast RMX. I struggling with the last two (of ten) championships on the lowest difficulty but it's still probably the best fun I've had on my Switch so far.

Considered getting this on PS4/Wii U but never did. Definitely buying on Switch, not sure on physical or digital yet.

A quick question on the Binding of Isaac. Does it work like a typical twin stick shooter, using the analogue stick to both fire and aim the projectiles? This is a control scheme I really just can't stand.

The game really catches my fancy aesthetically, but if it uses the above mentioned form of controls I will most likely give it a miss.

The first few months have been lacklustre for me in terms of game releases, with none of the big titles having any appeal. However things are ramping up over the next couple of months with the likes of Fire Emblem Warriors, Steamworld Dig 2, Wulverblade and Axiom Verge.

I think Switch is set for a good Christmas season and will but it's stride next year if Nintendo maintains a steady stream of middling to big releases.

Nearly bought Code of Princess before so may be tempted this time around.

@JunkRabbit thanks for the insight. I may give it a go at some point if I'm looking for something different to play.

I think people could use their time and energy more efficiently by just playing the game they've paid for and presumably enjoy.

Not long after payday for me so I'll likely pick this up day one. Steamworld Dig was good and Heist was brilliant so they've more than earned my trust.

@gatorboi352 Yes, accessories are incoming. At some indeterminate point in the future. I highly doubt we will see them anytime soon, it just wouldn't make sense right now. Not until they have a sustainable install base.

The Switch has been out for less than six months. Claiming Nintendo needs to implement any form of hardware revisions at this point is being more than a little entitled.

As things currently stand they can't keep it on store shelves. Unnecessary hardware changes, however small, are no priority right now.

Looking at the eshops coming soon page it seems that Troll and I will be the 100th game, unless your counting that as 99, since it releases today but doesn't seem to have updated yet.

This has had my attention for a while. Unfortunately it lost my interest in the first paragraph with one word: permadeath. Its a shame as it does seem a very worthwhile effort. Ah well, one less Switch game to spend money on. Still plenty more to come in the near future.

@bitleman I fail to see how Sony has any control over it. I doubt they can pay off SE. DQXI stands to be too successful on Switch for Sony to arrange a pay off.

The Switch is 5 months old and I'm already wondering how to keep up with game releases. A good problem to have.

Switch needs the Life is Strange games. Even better than anything Telltales has produced.

@Henmii A co worker of mine who has played everything Telltale since the Walking Dead told me it's the weakest one in his opinion.

I'm not a big Batman fan so I'm waiting for a sale on PSN, considering its also their most expensive game so far. Expensive license most likely.

Definitely buying Steamworld Dig 2, and maybe Rocket League. Already bought Stardew Valley on PS4 and found it quite dull, but I seem to be in the minority there.

A tidy little game. A joy to play, and a bargain for the price.

Wow, the Vita still has more units shifted than PS4. Also about a third of entire 3ds units sold are in Japan. You can see the strength of the handheld in that market. Switch will likely thrive.

Last time I visited a Game store they had less than a shelf of Wii U games, most of which were the same three games over and over. Directly beneath were three whole shelves of pre-owned Wii games.

Haven't bought anything from their high street stores in years and rarely buy anything online. I have zero trust in them.

Actually just tried to play the free trial on my PS4 and it failed to update both times. Not promising.

That aside I would really like to play either FFXIV or DQX on Switch.

@Anti-Matter Nice. You know what you want. Have you thought about custom transfers? You can find some really great ones online. Do your research though as some have been known to damage the Switch case when removed.

@Anti-Matter I really like my black Switch. Quite understated and smart. As a bloke in my late twenties I wouldn't fancy sitting on a bus with the neon variant. Each to their own I guess.

This is exactly how I view the Switch. A portable with enormous potential. I have a PS4 for my home console, and that has been barely used since getting my Switch.

Is the switch getting a digital release?

Don't usually go for metroidvania but I like the look of this. I'll wait for the Switch version.

Never played Gold so I'll pick that up. Shame about the lack of Crystal, my favourite Pokémon game of all time. My sister lost my Crystal cart years ago.
