@Masurao ah, must have missed that somehow. I decided to buy a switch about 3 days before launch so I'm not fully informed about it. Sounds reasonable compared to ps plus.
I'll try out the test fire if i can but I'm not considering a day one purchase of the game unless Nintendo precedes it with info on the pricing of the upcoming online charges.
I bought my switch from Argos, like I do with most of my consoles. It arrived about 1pm Friday via DPD. Never had an issue with Argos in the past and they continue to impress.
I have this preordered for Wii u but I'm having second thoughts about getting it for the switch one day. Problem is it will be a while before I get the switch, like at least a year, maybe two.
@duffmmann it's more like I don't enjoy making my own content, which strikes me as the main hook of the game. I guess you could call me a consumer, rather than a creator. It would be hard to imagine a Mario maker game working without touchscreen.
If touchscreen is a feature of the switch I doubt it will an issue. I have had some great experiences on my 2ds after all.
Just got home from work at half passed midnight and soaked up all this Switch info. Overall a very positive impression, I like the name and will almost certainly buy one.
Once the system is about two years old and is worth buying due to the library of games it will have by then.
Already have a preorder on Super Mario 3D World and the Steamworld Collection. Looking forward to Steamworld Heist, played the first one on Vita, very good game.
I was intending to ignore this one due to its well known brevity, but this review has changed my mind. Now I just have to find time between work and the kids.
I should probably finish Tokyo Mirage Sessions first though, and Odin Sphere. Oh, and Persona 4, Trails in the Sky SC and Tales of the Abyss 3D. Oh, that reminds me, Tales of Zestiria too.
Shame. Never played a castlevania game but I'm really looking forward to this. I have no hope for the Wii u version now but I was planning to get it the ps4 anyway.
My copy of birthright arrived on Tues. It's my first fire emblem and I'm enjoying it a great deal. Currently alternating between it and star fox zero, which I'm not enjoying anywhere near as much.
I always game with headphones on, as I have two tv's in my living room. When I'm gaming on one my wife is usually watching the other. Are headphones really that much of a problem? Is the game reasonably playable with them?
@NinjaWaddleDee I had to cut back once my kids came along. I was buying for so many systems, even picking up games for the PlayStation and Game Boy, that my backlog was ludicrous.
It may sound weird but I had so many unplayed games it was slightly depressing. Eventually I just wiped the slate clean. Now I hold back, play maybe half a dozen new titles a year and actually enjoy gaming again, rather than blazing my way through every game for the sake of crossing it off the list.
@NinjaWaddleDee That's precisely why I generally focus on one platform at a time, and maybe a handheld too. With my limited gaming time it makes sense.
@NinjaWaddleDee I'll get both in the end. The NX will have to wait a while as I rarely buy a system til its at least two years old. Only bought my Wii U last year.
Already have preorders on New Super Mario Bros U, Tropical Freeze and Windwaker HD from Nintendo store UK. Thankfully will be getting Star Fox Zero for my birthday next month, or this would have been an expensive month.

@JoeDiddley Yeah we might all need some cheering up depending how June 8th ends.
Re: Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Shimmies Onto Switch On 8th June
I skipped the Wii u version so I will likely pick it up. Will keep me busy til I get Fire Emblem Echoes for father's day.
Re: Nintendo Switch OS Version 2.1.0 is Now Live
Aaaahhhh, i love the smell of stability in the morning.

Re: Video: Fresh Shovel Knight: Specter Of Torment Footage Stalks The Earth
@sdelfin ah, I was hoping for something like that.
Re: Video: Fresh Shovel Knight: Specter Of Torment Footage Stalks The Earth
I wonder if you'll have to beat plague of shadows to access this one? I just couldn't get along with it and don't see myself going back to finish it.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Will Require a 3GB Install on Wii U
Wii U version. As with any console I won't be buying a Switch until it's worth having. Usually around two years after release.
Re: Tantalus Media is Developing Games for the Switch
Skyward sword remaster?
Re: Gallery: Check Out These Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Mock Ups
The transparent one reminds me of my old game boy pocket, first console I ever owned.

Re: Report Focuses on Nintendo Switch Touchscreen and IR Pointer on Joy-Con Controller
@duffmmann No, not at all. But that is largely due to the fact I don't enjoy games based on user generated content.
Re: Report Focuses on Nintendo Switch Touchscreen and IR Pointer on Joy-Con Controller
Personally I would like touch screen to not feature at all in the Switch. Never really enjoyed touch screen gaming.

Re: Axiom Verge Dev Tom Happ Opens Up About The Challenge Of Raising A Son With Special Needs
I remember when this released, first on vita then on Wii U, being on the fence about buying this and eventually forgetting about it.
Definitely buying it on my next pay day now. I know how it feels caring for a newborn with health issues under difficult circumstances.
My problems were miniscule in comparison and short term but I know how even the smallest degree of support can mean the world to you.

Re: Review: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (Wii U)
My copy arrived this morning, looking forward to trying it out this evening. Should make for a nice change of tone after FEF: Birthright.
Re: Hardware Classics: Game Boy Pocket
The transparent game boy pocket was my first console. It still works today, which is something I can't say for my first GBA.
The games I had bundled with it were all rubbish but my brother had a good collection for his classic that he was happy to share with me.
Then this little old thing called Pokemon came along and that was that, Ive been gaming for 20 years and won't stop any time soon.
Re: New Splatoon amiibo Now Available For Pre-Order On Nintendo's UK Store
@DoctorOverbuild Good point.
Re: New Splatoon amiibo Now Available For Pre-Order On Nintendo's UK Store
Pre ordered the squid sisters this morning. The double pack was already sold out so I had to buy both the singles for extra £2. Woe is me.

As I expected. 2016 was always unrealistic.

@Grumblevolcano Yeah I feel the same way. Once I play this I'll be picking up a PS4.
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Fortissimo' Special Edition of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
Will be buying the game, but probly just the standard edition. The soundtrack CD interests me but the rest of it is all tat.
Re: The Nintendo Selects Range Brings Some Sales Success in the UK Charts
My Nintendo selects arrived this morning. NSMBU, DKTF and Windwaker. Haven't played a Mario platformer in years so I'm looking forward to that.

Getting this as a birthday present in mid may. I have twilight princess HD and some of the upcoming Nintendo selects to keep me busy til then.
Re: Random: Here's Every Level In Super Mario 3 Played Simultaneously
Slightly bewildering to the eyes. Made my headache worse. Fair play to the creator though.
