I highly recommend Trauma Team for anyone interested. It does the motion control really really well. It's not all about surgeries though. It has a detective game section that really brings the story to life. Plus it has co-op!

Re: Project X Zone 2 Will Have Some Pre-Order Bonuses in North America

Spin

I don't know why people are complaining about pre-order bonuses. Ultimately a business is there to make money so why wouldn't they want a consumer to buy their product as soon as possible. If a bonus is enticing enough for me to take the dive immediately rather than waiting for the bargain bin I'm all for it.

Re: Poor Odds of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth Coming to Wii U as Nicalis Says It's "Not Much More Powerful Than a PS Vita"

Spin

I find it pretty hard to believe that games like W101 and Bayonetta can play on the Wii U and a game that uses sprites and such doesn't. Perhaps I don't really now what all goes on in Binding of Isaac but it does sound to me like a bit of an excuse to not optimize the code a little for the system. Sounds like someone didn't do proper garbage collection in their code in the first place.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 12th November

@Zizzy If you watch gameplay videos of project guard you can see Star Fox logos on the cameras.

That and the fact that Platinum Games seems to be helping on Project Guard as well as Star Fox Zero leads some to believe it's going to be a mini game of sorts in Star Fox.

Re: The Next Nintendo Direct is on 12th November

I had a weird feeling this would be announced today. I expect that we'll get some solid dates for games releasing next you. I wouldn't be surprised if Zelda U get's a spring/summer release date (but they usually set those up for November).

Re: Review: Stinger (Wii U eShop / NES)

Spin

@Mk_II While this is the first (and I think the only) US release. It definitely isn't the first Twin Bee in the series. If you want that one, I think Konami released a 3D classics version on the 3DS eShop.

Re: Review: Stinger (Wii U eShop / NES)

Twinbee was a cool series. Although without a manual it's a little hard to figure out some of the mechanics. The bells change color every couple of times you shoot them, and each color bell gives you a different ability when you collect them. That mechanic was always cool to me, I'm not sure if this version has that many colors in it, judging by the review.

It should be noted that in the Japanese version of this game, it supported up to 3 players. So it's a little sad we got the American version instead of the Japanese one. On the other hand, we rarely get the foreign versions of any VC games.

Re: SEGA Posts Financial Results, Sales are Down and Profits are up

Spin

Aside from the Sonic games, I don't recall SEGA putting out bad games as of late. We got Hatsune Miku games that are doing well. Company of Heroes 2 released to good reception a few years back. They purchased Atlus and haven't seemed to messed them up at all. Alien Isolation was a solid licensed IP. They even helped get Bayonetta 2 out the door with their connections to Nintendo.

Really, aside from the Sonic games, SEGA doesn't seem to have a terrible track record.

I would not mind if you did a review on the Snoopy game. I remember loving Vs. the Red Baron on the PC. Other Peanuts games are ok if I remember right, but they tend to be restricted to kids games.

As a platformer, I wonder how Snoopy's Grand Adventure plays out.

@Mogster I thought I remember Hyperkin talking about compatibility with N64 titles. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/03/nintendo_64_support_teased_for_a_future_hyperkin_retron_console

I like this, there are a lot of decent PC Engine and Grafx games (good ol' hudson soft). I wouldn't mind the Retron 6 being able to host those games.

Now I need a system that does all that, plus Neo Geo games, and we'd have an entire generation of consoles in one system.

Re: Preview: Hitting the Courts in Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash

Spin

I'm glad there is no motion controls. I've always consider Mario Sports games to be the more arcade-y like game and Wii Sports can be the motion controlled one.

I hope there is a good ranking system like how some fighting games have and lots of court variety like Power Tennis. I played that game a lot, I found it to be really intense, especially later on in the game.

Re: Fresh Project H.A.M.M.E.R. Details Reveal Shigeru Miyamoto's Role In The Game's Downfall

Spin

There's a reason departments in a company need to work separately, so the ideals of one department doesn't conflict with the development of another.

On the other hand I think Miyamoto is probably the head of all design divisions so it's probably his job to slap down some budget issues. I too agree it's a little unusual to spend a lot of money on story before even getting gameplay design down.

I agree Miyamoto controls a little too much on Nintendo game development (removing story from Sticker Star is my least favorite thing he did) But I think I can stand behind him on this one.
