Another week begins, and Nintendo of Europe has the task of setting off some virtual fireworks in its Download Update. It does succeed in terms of delivering a first-party retail title on 3DS, while we think the download-only scene on Wii U is looking pretty encouraging this week. Throw in a classic puzzle game on 3DS along with a host of demos and retail options and there's plenty to choose from. Let's get to the details.
Wii U eShop
Electronic Super Joy (Broken Rules, €7.99 / £6.99) - The predecessor to Electronic Super Joy: Groove City, which was released in North America by a different publisher, this version includes extras and DLC from the PC original. It's precision platforming that's also extremely stylish in its presentation, and we'll have a review with you before it launches.
Bike Rider UltraDX - WORLD TOUR (Spicy soft, €6.99 / £4.99) - We're big fans of the original games on 3DS, so there's plenty of reason to be pleased to see this expanded edition arrive on Wii U. Here it supports multiplayer and you can even play as your Mii in the new Battle Mode, for example. We'll hop on our bike to bring you a review soon.
Wii U Virtual Console
Contra Advance: The Alien Wars EX (Konami, €6.99 / £6.29) - This is a loose port of the SNES classic Contra III: The Alien Wars and originally hit the Game Boy Advance in 2002. It's far from a straight conversion of the 16-bit classic, however; the screen-clearing Mega Bombs have been removed, as has the dual-wield ability which was so handy on the SNES. These omissions are balanced somewhat by the fact that the player can now lock their character's aim while moving, and is also given a opportunity to revert to their previous weapon after picking up a fresh one. We'll blast away some foes for a review.
Medabots AX: Metabee & Rokusho (Natsume, €6.99 / £6.29 for each version) - Apparently this 'AX' iteration is a variation on the recent releases with a very similar name; we'll take a look, and in the meantime you can see our original Medabots: Metabee & Rokusho review.
Megaman Battle Network 5 Team: Colonel & Protoman (Capcom, €6.99 / £6.29) - This spin-off, turn-based series continues with yet another GBA entry to come over to the Wii U Virtual Console. Once again there are evil forces to stop and two version to choose from, so we'll get cracking on our review.
Wii U Retail Download
Adventure Time: Finn & Jake Investigations (Little Orbit, €29.99 / £24.99) - With 3D visuals that fans will either love or hate, this offers another gaming experience in the popular IP; we gave it a recommendation in our Adventure Time: Finn & Jake Investigations Wii U review. Available from 6th November.
The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure (Activision, €29.99 / £29.99) - Available from 6th November.
Hello Kitty Kruisers (Bergsala Lightweight, €29.99 / £24.99) - Available from 6th November.

3DS eShop
Toki Tori 3D (Two Tribes, €1.99 / £1.79) - A puzzle title that's been popular on multiple formats over the years, this entry has been ported by Engine Software. There's a new 'rewind' feature and item swapping on the touch screen, so this could potentially be a particularly strong version of the game; we'll hatch out and bring you a review soon.
3DS Retail Downloads
Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash (Nintendo, €29.99 / £24.99) - One of Nintendo's lesser known mascots is given an opportunity at stardom in a platformer, with the cute robot's plug being a vital weapon and means of exploration. Retail editions also come with an amiibo, and this release is certainly an interesting arrival in terms of giving the IP a push for the mainstream. We admired this one's charm but had a few reservations in our Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash review. Available from 6th November. Free "Chibi-Robo and the Toys" Home Theme with downloads of the game until 3rd December.
Adventure Time: Finn & Jake Investigations (Little Orbit, €29.99 / £24.99) - The latest in the run of licensed titles from this franchise; you can check out our Adventure Time: Finn & Jake Investigations 3DS review for a lowdown. Available from 6th November.
Gravity Falls: Legend of the Gnome Gemulets (Ubisoft, €29.99 / £19.99) - This licensed title utilises the UbiArt engine, though we were disappointed with the end result in our Gravity Falls: Legend of the Gnome Gemulets review. Available from 6th November.
The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure (Activision, €29.99 / £24.99) - Available from 6th November.
Hello Kitty and the Apron of Magic: Rhythm Cooking (Bergsala Interactive, €29.99 / £24.99) - Available from 6th November.
3DS DLC
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker: Let the Demon Grow (NIS America, €0.99 / £0.89) - Available from 6th November.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker: Lost Demon Rescue (NIS America, free) - Available from 6th November.

Everyone should give Siesta Fiesta a try for that price. Extremely enjoyable game! For €1,- that's extremely cheap too!
Me myself will be buying that mewtwo theme. I don't buy themes normally but I just can't resist the pokémon ones
BUY SIESTA FIESTA! EVERYONE.
Or buy it for the original price, since it is really worth it and I basically love everything about this game. Also, the original price isn't expensive too.
@ThomasBW84 The articles from other sites say Megaman Battle Network 5 (both versions for GBA) are coming this week too. Link: http://gonintendo.com/stories/245947-this-week-s-european-downloads-november-5-chibi-robo-toki-tor
Only getting Megaman Battle Network 5.
@arronishere It's the AX games.
Where are those Sega console themes? I really want them. Oh well, Chibi Robo will keep me occupied until they show up.
@Grumblevolcano Yeah I've added them now, must have scanned right past them when going through the PR. Ta!
I've reset the poll, so some of you may need to vote again (I had to add the game I'd missed)
Nothing much for me this week; BUT I'M NOT GONNA WHINE ABOUT IT. I'M NOT GONNA STATE THAT ITS A "TERRIBLE UPDATE" BECAUSE MY DESIRE FOR THERE TO BE SOMETHING GOOD EVERY WEEK MEANS THAT WHENEVER IT DOESN'T FULFIL MY DESIRES I HAVE TO WAIL ON IT IN THE COMMENTS SECTION!!
My apologies, I usually hate Caps-typing but those sort of comments are a MAJOR annoyance for me during these download updates.
@FX102A
Agree with you.
Sure some sales get repeated a lot and if you already got the game, this is of no value to you, but there are also plenty of people that might not have gotten it. Apart from that I can hardly believe that there are people that seriously lack things to play if the update doesn't suite them. And even if: there is still the world outside, friends, books, music, ... so ... nothing to whine about. ;-]
Please let typoman release this month, I'm hyped for it
@arronishere Ah, thought they were the same, have updated and will add game pages.
I'll wait on the review for Bike Rider, but I suppose in the meantime I'll get Siesta Fiesta as everyone appears to be insisting on it.
BUY Siesta Fiesta EVERYONE
is an AMAZING game, over 15 hours of pure fun on my 3DS
Man, I'd love Contra III: The Alien Wars on 3DS... with download play... That would be amazing. Meh....Super C will have to do. Anyway, I'll be getting Siesta Fiesta for 99p. Why not?
Another poopitypoopoop week!
Chibi robo zip lash is actually pretty darn fun.
@FX102A I think the best lunatics are still in the US Weekly Download section. They beat our euro-lunatics by a wide margin.
Every week is just "RIP NoA" "NoA doesn't want my money" and "Where's Metroid Zero Mission?!". It takes some skill to write the same thing every Thursday for four or five years. They are pros.
If Hello Kitty Cruisers is coming out in Australia, I'll see if my daughter will like it - she's Hello Kitty crazy although we don't have any of the games yet. If it's a decent kart racer, I'll get it.
There you go Europe, it looks like they made up for no VC last week.
@MadAdam81 : It will be available on the eShop this week, however, the physical retail version will be released at the end of this month (according to EB Games) if you would prefer that instead.
I believe it has already been reviewed by Nintendo Life and from what I understand, it's a bare bones kart racer (think Mario Kart for infants). If Mario Kart is too difficult for your daughter (in terms of controls and keeping up with the chaotic action on-screen), then Hello Kitty Kruisers seems like a decent (if not particularly remarkable) alternative for very young players.
When does NA get XC on VC!?
Siesta Fiesta is worth a quid of anyone's money - go buy it!
So happy to see Konami still supporting the VC, hopefully we will see the DS castlevania games soon.
That poll really should be multiple choice by now.
Not a good VC week, but the two eshop games look okay.
10 new games in one week. (3 retail downloads, 2 eShop downloads, and 5 Virtual Console titles). I think that's a new record. I think I'm getting Electronic Super Joy, and I hope the sequel which is out in US will make its way over here soon too.
Not a bad week. I've already got a physical copy of Chibi Robo and the amiibo preordered, but I'll probably download Rock Zombie (had my eye on that for a while, £3.59 seems about right for it) and Toki Tori 3D (love Two Tribes stuff, I always support them) too, with a view to downloading GBA Contra when there's a quiet week.
I've already downloaded Siesta Fiesta but yeah, I'll agree that it's an ace game and an absolute steal at that price.
Where's our Sega console themes?
@sillygostly Shes 8 and likes Mario Kart, so Ill wait for the physical release so we can return it if its not good enough.
Oh good, more Mega Man... I wonder how many Mega Man games there are on the VC now. At least 12.
That said, nothing for me this week.
I want Electronic Super Joy, looks cool.
Nano Assault Neo for Wii U still to expensive never gets a decent discount.
I hope Siesta Fiesta gets a discount in the NA too.
@megamanlego Hey guys, Just dropped in to confirm that the Siesta Fiesta sale is in fact Worldwide. So yeah, you're covered in the U.S. too! Enjoy.
@MojoBones Thats really nice! Thanks guys!
Chibi Robo for me. I've played the demo and it looks like it will be better than what the reviews are giving it.
I never doubted or regretted paying full price for Siesta Fiesta. It was worth every single cent I spent buying it at full price. Now they're practically giving it away! If you don't own it already, and you call yourself a gamer, you really should pick it up now!
@GLA technically that poll is multiple choice, as you have multiple choices and can select one. What you mean is that the poll should be multi-select where you can select multiple options (and I agree, it should)
@FX102A @Tiefseemiez @spizzamarozzi You guys can have Reggie. I'd take Shibata over him any day of the week.
I would not mind if you did a review on the Snoopy game. I remember loving Vs. the Red Baron on the PC. Other Peanuts games are ok if I remember right, but they tend to be restricted to kids games.
As a platformer, I wonder how Snoopy's Grand Adventure plays out.
Siesta fiesta is awesome. At full price let alone discounted
Anyone who doesn't have Siesta Fiesta, buy the sh*t out of it on sale. The game is a steal at its original price; 99p is just ludicrous value.
What's the point in releasing the GBA port of Contra 3, when the superior and original SNES version already is available in the shop?
Because it exists. I agree that Konami could have released another GBA game instead, but they may be working through their GBA back catalogue, and that includes games like Contra III. Oh well. At least its out of the way now.
What you mean is that the poll should be multi-select where you can select multiple options
You can only download one game first. Its not asking you how many games this week are you downloading.
Siesta Fiesta for £1? If you don't already have it that price is a steal!
Darn, bought Toki Tori GBC last month, should have waited.
Bought the Xenoblade chronicles theme , the Gaur plains one to be specific.
@simonthomas6 Are you in the wrong week?
@Bass_X0 I don't even understand the point in asking what I will download first. Why not just ask what I will download and make several options selectable?
@manu0 didn't even vote in the poll. So why bother telling me that "are you in the wrong week?"
@simonthomas6 Why are you talking about XC themes?!
I don't even understand the point in asking what I will download first. Why not just ask what I will download and make several options selectable?
The poll is to gauge people's excitement over a particular game, because presumably people will download the game they are most interested in first.
There you go Europe, it looks like they made up for no VC last week.
Have you noticed that they've done this for the past several months now. Some games one week, zero games the next week then back to some games the following week.
Even though I have Toki Tori already for both Wiiware and Wii U, I think I'll still get the 3DS version particularly as it's cheap! Not too sure about the two new Wii U downloads though...
Nothing this week.
Don't care either. Mario Maker is keeping me well entertained.
Oh man, for an instant I thought Contra was coming to the 3DS VC That would've been an instant buy if it was.
