Re: Video: Here's What Shovel Knight's New amiibo-Based Co-Op Mode Looks Like

So for areas that are larger then the screen, what happens when two players stand at either side and one of them tries to scroll the camera. Does it pull the other player while scrolling or does it just teleport him?

I'm asking this because it would be a little irritating to have a second player on certain sections that require Shovel Knight's other abilities.

Re: Talking Point: The Easily Forgotten Hardware Release of 2015 - New Nintendo 3DS

The stabilized 3D is the big selling point to me on the system. I liked 3D but it was really irritating to use. Now it's much easier on the eyes.

But really, I don't think Nintendo had to do that much to get the New 3DS out there. I would love to see a poll about users that bought a New 3DS that didn't previously have one. I'm curious about a theory that the only reason Nintendo released the New 3DS is so they could be in the spotlight about a new console/handheld again.

@Vee_Flames Well aside from that. Sakurai has stated he doesn't want to make a new Kid Icarus. So I can see Platinum being an amazing choice for the developer of the series.

That said I can only see the two series sharing a cameo with each other. Like maybe a DLC level where Palutena asks Bayonetta for help fighting over the army of the underworld. Or maybe Bayonetta acting as a deus ex machina for Pit in the nick of time.

Re: Reaction: The Nintendo 'NX', and Why We Think a Unified Platform is the Future

I feel like Nintendo has stated many many many times that it is not replacing the Wii U and 3DS. It will continue to support both of those systems for awhile. It's even in their diagram from that DeNA briefing awhile back. http://cdn.geekwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/28l.jpg

Ya'll are gonna upset yourselves again just like the Wii U's announcement by not listening to Nintendo about all the details they've been sharing with us.

Let's stick to the facts:

1. Nintendo is not replacing the Wii U for a good while.
2. The system will be able to run a new Metroid Prime game. (Kensuke Tanabe confirmed this)
3. It is a new concept that we haven't seen before. So it probably won't have a gamepad, have motion controls, and won't be a traditional gaming system with a normal controller either.

That is all we know and we have no reason to assume anything else. You guys are setting Nintendo up to fail with all this speculation because when your assumptions don't play out you will get all upset.

I don't know I'm just really getting tired of people throwing stuff out there that Nintendo has never even hinted at.

Weird maybe unrelated question. But you know how some games actually tell you how fast you are going? I always wondered if that number was made up or if they were able to build world's to scale and then have something actually calculate the correct MPH.

@Rob_mc_1 I think from a business it's a good idea to wean consumers off of a service before implementing a new one. Plus by totally removing Club Nintendo it's easier for them to start a new one rather than carry over data from the old one.

I couldn't really get into it when I first played it. I love the sprite work in it. That said, a lot of the tasks you had to complete were very tedious and repetitive. Maybe there was some sort of skill I was lacking that made completing the tasks faster, but I couldn't really find out what it was.

Re: Video: Watch How These Families React to an Interactive Mario Display

They've done something like this before. This is actually how Charles Martinet got hired. They wanted to make some tech demo for some facial motion capture software or something and Charles Martinet was picked to act it out, they had him do voices too. People walked by and got to talk to Mario. This was some time back in the 90s if I remember right.

It sorta seems like someone was puppeteer-ing Mario here based off of his jerked movements. So I dare say Nintendo broke out some of there old tech for this. Which is awesome.

That's a big chunk of money lost there.

I wonder how another company would handle Sonic. Anyone besides Nintendo would probably give it a gritty reboot. Actually I would like Namco to handle him if his license went of for sale. Namco really seems to be holding their own with quality licensed anime titles. And all their games are so colorful. I could see them doing a decent Sonic game. I mean the latest Pacman games were ok, if not just a bit too rushed.

Re: NX Won't Be The Next Version Of Wii Or Wii U, Says Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima

Spin

Reaffirms my thoughts on them running all three of their systems together. Which will be interesting to see how they handle that. The Wii U has so much potential for unique gameplay experiences that no one has thought of yet. I do hope other people continue to support it. Not just Nintendo.

That said, what could possibly be so revolutionary and unique beyond motion gaming? I don't think we're advanced enough for the virtual reality that could be offered at the Nintendo price. So I'm very curious as to what they want to roll out.
